its a game where they tried to throw in everything and didnt seem to really take the time to polish any of it so most of it comes off as wonky and annoying. For every interesting sequence they tend to throw in one or two that have annoying design choices like pointless QTE's, respawning enemies, finicky camera movements and/or in all too closed in environments with cheap hits, inconsistent animations where you dont know if youre even hitting enemies ect. along with an actually pretty cool combat system, but they dont tell you how to use it right and a very convoluted inventory that tends to keep up its annoyingness through-out the 25+ hour story modes.

its just kind of a mess in a lot of ways and reeks of too many chefs in the kitchen. theres some fun to be had especially with a friend, but you have to keep youre expectations in check and learn not to get annoyed at every little thing.

I feel like the game gets a worse rap here then it deserves
that pretty much all comes down to the original. its not like 2 remake where they did make some cuts, but in general were still faithful to what the original did and made some smart modern design choices. 3 remake pretty much either scraped or gutted EVERYTHING that made the original interesting.

taken as its own thing its a solid 7/10 game as you said and and they do do some things better like the dodge system and the actual boss fights as well as posatively expanding on certain parts like the story and the hospital section. but then you also have to realize that they cut 40% of the areas (making a short game significantly shorter), cut enemies and bosses, neutered how nemesis works making him less intimidating, neutered his drops, neutered the gunpowder system (though 2 remake can be blamed somewhat for this), completely scrapped the scenario designs which outside of nemesis was the next big selling point of the original.

its not an embellishment to say the remake is literally half the game the original was. because 2 remake turned out so well it makes this an even harder disappointment. but if you didnt play the original then its obviouly going to make this one easier to swallow.

assuming you mean the B scenarios. not much. you get a new weapon at the start. a few new rooms are open here and there (and some areas are open who were previously only open towards one character. some minor rearranged enemies. the OG 2 i said the scenario differences were closer to 80% which they had some good differences, the Remake is more like 95% similar since they incorperated some stuff into the A scenario that were originally in the B scenarios. they probably figured most people would play the game with one character in one scenario then move on.

if you have the resources you might as well, at the very least kill enemies near save rooms. dont want to have to have to worry about getting hit in a area youll be constantly returning to. shoot a zombie in the head enough to drop them then knife them while their down. make sure they dont move any more when you hit them (give it a few seconds before hitting them one more time), sometimes they like to fake it. provided you arnt getting grabed constantly there should be enough knife "strength" to do so.

I'm not a big fan of replaying a game immediately after I beat it, so I try to avoid things like that. If it's drastically different though maybe I'll go back to Claire's file
I wouldnt say drastically different, but there are some key differences when it comes to the story, item and enemy placements and there are some new areas and bosses (in general the B scenario is noticeably more difficult). its roughly 80% the same, but the game is designed around the two storylines for the two different characters so to actually see the real ending (and what goes on with the other character) you pretty much have to play the other characters' B scenario.

This is one area the REmake kinda screwed up. the differences are not as big as they are in the original and they dont do a great job of interconnecting the 2 storylines. instead they take bits and pieces and try to put them into the A scenario which doesnt work as well.

the remake is definitely a good bump up atmosphere wise and the scenario A design is a really nice modern take on the original without compromising a lot. Wish i could say the same for the B scenario, but overall they compliment each other very well in their own ways.

consider your self lucky i guess. while i enjoyed the game for what it is, i will be forever disappointed about what it could of been. it feels like they cut 30-40% of the original out via actual locations (important locations at that) and mechanics, mechanics that actually made the original unique.

i could see if the guy was openly beating her that second he fired, but he was 7 yards away with his hands at his sides just standing there (and the cop was already over the victim covering her). the guy with the AR didnt even give the guy time to comprehend any commands nor did he let the less than lethal guys go first who were LITERALLY right behind him. maybe if he OPENLY had a gun it would be one thing, but he visually didnt. cop was way too eager to shoot once he saw the blood and the way he was fiddling with the gun afterwards made me think he didnt know what he was doing. hell with that weapon and optic at that range on a stationary target it should of been one and done with any competent training.

cops SHOULD be held to a higher standard.

Tmaster148 posted... But anytime anyone tries to push for better background checks on gun purchases or anything like waiting periods people act like we want to take your guns away.
because thats where it always eventually leads when emotions take over. something happens which leads to more gun control, something happens after that which leads to more and on and on it goes. there is no "were satisfied with this" when it comes to gun control. there might be good intentions in it, but it never leads to anywhere good when more and more power gets stripped from the general citizen.

Michigan is a good recent example of this. Detroit violence put purchase permits in place. after a while that wasnt enough so they implimented a registry (this is a serious one), but oh that doesnt make much sense without universal background checks so they implemented those shortly after (all of which hasnt done jack shit). you had the open carry protests then put that on the chopping block then this recent school shooting you now have magazine limits and waiting periods being discussed (even though there is no proof it would have done anything for this specific situation). Point being that this leads to this leads to this leads to this and so on. thats why there is so much push back on literally anything on the subject.

OT: there is an obviously need for police, but in general i wouldnt put it past them to have their boot on your neck if there was a paycheck in it (or just their own twisted desires). they are the thugs of the system when it comes down to it and many join specifically because of their egos and wanting to be on a power trip. they should never be trusted and they should be held to a massively higher standard.

with 3 cats id make sure to have 2 ENCLOSED littler boxes, preferably with swinging entrances to trap in odor. scoop each of them every day and change the litter out every 1-2 weeks for each. if you have to only use one box then scoop atleast twice a day and change it every week. when it comes to changing the litter make sure you also clean the litter box with soap, bleach and make sure to dry it off before putting the new stuff in.

and make sure they arnt going somewhere they shouldnt be and you just cant find it. also maybe invest in an air purifier.

every kid is different in terms of emotions to some degree. its up to the parents to know what they can handle. 15 is old enough to know the dangers of what they are doing and the dangers of a firearm. if not then its all on the parents. outside of the kid breaking open a safe the parents should also be held responsible to some degree if they just left it around or flat out gave it to the kid who was very obviously mentally compromised.

Real question; does this only ever happen in the States? Its fucked up how often and easy this shit is happening.
no, russia actually had one less than 2 weeks ago. most other places tend to also have a lot of social programs and other means to help others and stop certain things (even if some of them would be very unconstitutional) before they happen to a much greater degree than the US currently offers. smaller population sizes in general also helps keep a closer eye on individuals.

people like to use the guns aspect as a scapegoat. while they are a factor, the way this has only really ramped up to any degree post columbine shows theres a lot of other deep seated issues at play.
