theres an estimated 100-120million gun owners in the US. in the last year the FBI recorded nearly 10 million new gun owners, that is 10million people who did their very first background check to buy a gun (and this can include multiple gun sales). that does NOT include those who bought via private sales or built their own from 80% kits or from scratch. there is an estimate of 400-500million firearms in circulation in the US, half of the entire worlds small arms combined.

in this last year you had literally everyone buying guns from all political, racial and class leanings. literally everyone is strapped. the genie is out, pandoras box is open and dogs and cats are living together.

gun control is a moot point and one that can be helped via other means that would make everyones lives easier rather than further pecking away at their constitutional rights.

I wonder how long it'll take for the right to go nuclear over this.
Worst youre going to get from people is old timers who arnt in the game anymore who are nostalgic. almost no one is hating this decision specifically because Colts QA has went to shit over the last decade and a half and they have refused to change or innovate instead trying to sail by on their name alone with over priced firearms. not to say they still cant make good stuff, but nowadays you can get the exact same thing for 30% less only it doesnt have Colt on the side.

While a part of me is kinda sad that its a not an american maker, CZ in general makes really quality stuff and always has for decades and their 1911 line of pistols (made by also acquired Dan Wesson) are some of the best you can get and could be a match made in heaven.

there was more training back then and guns wernt treated like they are now. my grandpa used to tell me stories of him and his friends taking their .22's into the woods camping when they were 11 by them selves. most people in rural areas had rifles and shotguns on their gun racks in their trucks and yes gun safety was actually taught at school including having skeet/marksman clubs. along with parents showing there kids firearms at an early age and eliminating doubt and curiosity cutting down on accidents. and yet despite all that issues were relatively minor since guns were wernt treated as either toys or elements that must be hidden allowing that curiosity to get the better of them.

i my self had a bb gun at 7 and a real one at 9.

their both worth playing tho overall id say it comes down to what you really value more in an rpg. the combat or everything else. both games have fun and fast combat, but DD takes it up to 11 with more classes, more abilities, more customization in terms of party design (if you want to roll with that) and more interesting enemies to fight and its replay-ability is built on those aspects (so NG+ would mean new enemies and bosses while being able to further level character classes). KoA's combat is also fast and fun, but its extremely easy to over level (i dont know if the new version fixed this) making over half the game a cakewake on any difficulty. with that how you actually approach combat doesnt really change much which makes it more repetitive.

as far as everything else for either of them is kinda meh tho KoA has more stuff to do in general.

not by modern times, but most firearms made through-out history usually started out as military contracts/inventions or some variant of them. stuff like 1911's and bolt action rifles can technically still be considered "military" weapons since they are still used in military service despite their design being over 100 years old.

get a few essential mods like autoloot and auto apply monster oils. no weight limit as well if you want to. all 3 of those things in this game specifically quickly become an extreme annoyance, ones i dont think youll want to content with for 100+ hours. a few other quality of life ones like increased monster loot, all quest objectives on map and always full xp can really help the over all experience as well. maybe the fast travel one too, but in general theres enough travel points to where i didnt find that one too annoying.

XCOM 1 and MGS5 will give you literally hundreds of hours of gameplay. the mods for xcom also turn it into an almost completely new game increasing the hours even more. you can also mod mgs5 on pc to take care of some of its more annoying aspects which really helps its progression.

if you want more quality per hour then south park is a really fun time for the 12 or so hours it lasts. not much replay value there, but its one of the more consistently entertaining games iv ever played.

Iv used instacart for about 6 months now during this shitty period and i cant say anything really negative about them. have to order a decent amount to waive the fee and their website/app doesnt cover everything in the stores, but outside of that i cant really complain. theyve always gotten what i ordered, the poeple iv dealt with are fairly nice and communicative and seem to be flexible with order times. price mark ups are also reasonable.

i tried using shipt for a month, but was less than satisfied. 4 deliveries, 2 of them dropped off at the wrong address and one other the driver started to have an attitude when they couldnt find my house at first. and theyre more expensive per month. i like their website and selection options more though.

Metal Gear has always been its own unique thing so wouldnt expect anywhere near that level of storytelling nor the quirky stuff you tend to find in those games. the only real comparison is a few open gameplay designs and some mechanics here and there.

that said DX1's story is quite good as is HR to a less degree. MD's side storys are great, but the game ended up being rushed and its main story suffers because of that. IW..we dont talk about.

the series in general excels at player choice in how it approaches level designs and choices you make based on your character build. even by todays standards the original still pisses on a lot of games out now in those regards and HR and MD do an admirable job in keeping up.
