there are estimated 100-140million gun owners in the US (tho no real accurate numbers exist). Theres bound to be some bad ones in the bunch, but "some" does not equal most especially when (again, roughly) those "some" tend to amount to .001% that would do something nefarious with them and most of those ones wouldnt have much trouble getting one, especially in this day and age anyway with the internet and 3d printing being a thing, let alone the US already having access to literally half of the entire worlds small arms.

jon is good at showing the hypocritical side of congressmen, but in terms of gun control you can refute pretty much everything he said if you actually cared about the amendment and knew the stats and situations associated with them. the problem is that most congressmen really dont care about it, they use it as a political tool to win votes and money and use prescripted talking points to cater to the lowest common denominator. republicans were also responsible for the most extreme moments of gun control in the nations history.

When it comes to laws you have to actually look at whats already there. Michigan isnt as strict when it comes to handguns as California or NY, but they are stricter than most of the country. Universal Background Checks, Registration, Purchase Permits and many (convoluted) laws dictating where you can and cant carry. No Red Flag laws (yet), but even that only works on the assumption that someone will actually say something of which the father never did or tried to to anyone else.

The only reason we know of how he got the gun was because he was never prosecuted on weapons charges in the past so it was busted down to a misdemeanor which allowed him to still buy the firearm. That right there might be a place to start.

Youre only going to get so far in Michigan when it comes to other gun laws. Its a huge hunting and militia state and AR15's are everywhere, even in democrat homes.

mad max is the definition of a 7/10 game. its very solid for what it is, but nothing really special in any regard (though props to making the car combat feel good). its a game you play when everything else of more note have run their course. MGS5 has its own issues namely with its story and more repetitive design choices, but its individual gameplay elements and systems are polished to damn near perfection.

This has been the most amusing part of my home defense journey, every associate at the gun store had a wildly different opinion
thats because they all tend to have their own positives depending on the circumstance and many peoples circumstances are different. then you have the caliber discussions on top of that.

in general though 22's are looked down on because of their reliability. you dont want your weapon to fail in a serious encounter and 22's (semi-auto's especially) are not the most reliable things out there. not to say yours will have that issue, but make sure what ever ammo you choose to use that that taurus will run it. take it to the range and put a box or two of ammo through it of each individual brand you might be interested in. use what ever runs reliably in it and you should be good to go.

theyre cool little guns, but unless you want to go full A-Team with one and make it a cool mantel piece with the stainless steel and folding stock, they really arnt worth it. AR15's, despite being less "classy" are just better in every way.

although they do have a way of hilariously getting around AWB's, so maybe you should try for one.

id say its somewhat difficult because of the fucking annoying enemies that are both tanky and have spastic animations making using a handgun for headshots a little difficult, even with a mouse. that drops off significantly once the shotgun comes into play though. with the handgun youre better off staggering them and running or if you need to kill them use enhanced rounds and have some patience.

in general though as long you arnt shooting at walls, theres a LOT of resources to kill everything on the normal difficulty so dont get too stressed out. much like a lot of the other games its only really a hazard in the first few hours.

You have no way of knowing that. Community outreach and education, mandated safer storage practices, and registration would all help to significantly reduce incidents like this. Your defeatest attitude of "we can't do anything about it so we shouldn't even try" is fucking stupid.
Education is one thing and there should be an EMPHASIS on proper storage handling, but in general unless you have some serious consequences (and even then) its not going to change much to mandate it especially when theres still a lot of laws on the books that conflicts with the notion of mandatory storage. irresponsible and or forgetful people are still going to do something irresponsible and forgetful (assuming thats what this is and not another Oxford) and a lot of times its a "well that will never happen to me" or "my kid would never do that" type of mentality rather than if someone is legitimately unsuited to own a firearm. that kind of ignorance is a very difficult type of thing to account for and can be passed by nearly everyone, unless you go full authoritarian with guns which isnt going to happen.

Registration would also not do anything and only really serves to trace something back the original source after the deed has been done which can be essentially denied by the original owner. It would not stop situations like this. its also not hard to just file off a number or 3d print what you need outside of these types of situations. Registration is there and has been to only really let the government know what you have (which usually doesnt turn out well). My home state has handgun registration and yet illegal handgun use is off the fucking charts and of all the police who iv actually talked to on that subject (used to work for a range that did government qualifications) or something similar they all said that registration helped with 0 cases (not some, zero).

Im an eye for an eye kind of person, but with the way the system is handled its just not reliable enough. too many errors and too many human elements are involved. unless you have some infallible way of finding out who is 100% guilty and who is not, the death penalty should be done away with unless the person is flat out admitting it and smiling to the familys in court.

that said, a .357 bullet is .70cents and has a way more effective rate.

1 is being remade so might as well wait for that. they are considered action rpg's, though 1 tries to be a weird mix of turn based-top down combat mixed with real time systems. it works for what it is, but its definitely not everyones cup of tea. im sure the remake will go how the series ended up- more traditional action that youre probably thinking of.

2 got a massive bump in pretty much all areas, but it is still a little janky with its world being more openly structured without going ful open world. because of that they did some pretty cool things with the choice/consequences mechanics to where youll only see about 50% of the overall game based on the choices you made. the thought that one or two significant choices essentially locks out or opens up 20+ extra hours of 100% unique content is a crazy thing in this day and age (and when it came out).

3 is more of a traditional open world (so you can expect a degree of ubisoft-ness going on) with its main drive being its side content and how they interact with the open world setting. the story telling in general is arguably better than any other open world. however the main story ourside a few notable quests is fairly dry. its dlc content is some of the best in the series.

both 2 and 3's combat id say is "serviceable". its not bad, far from it, but nothing really changes over the hours with most stuff already being unlocked to you from the beginning with the unlock/upgrade systems being more complimentary to the mechanics. what you do in the first dozen or so hours is what youll be doing over the next 100. because of that it can get a bit boring given how long 3 especially is.

@Dark_Spiret please explain how you think it didn't work pretty well
gun deaths were trending downward before the buy back for a decade. other forms of deaths (especially arson and non-firearm domestic deaths) shot up dramatically shortly after the buyback for about 10 years before subsiding most likely negating any lives saved through the actual gun control (especially arson of which AU had 3 of the worst mass murders in the countries history which were through fire after the buyback. prior to that arson mass murders were almost non-existent). the stats for suicides basically stayed the same which means someone with no access to a firearm still potentially killed themselves.

the UK example, which is often brought up as well is even shallower. the country had literally 2 specific non-organization, indiscriminate mass shooting cases in the hundreds of years since guns were invented and has actually had MORE non-terrorist related mass shootings after the actual gun ban.

Capcom is VERY hit and miss with their titles so who the hell knows. Given 4's reputation id like to think they are treating it with more respect than what they gave 3. 2 remake wasnt perfect, but you can can still tell they gave a shit and did some smart modern design choices.

In today's world it absolutely requires interpretation.
You can only go so far into interpretation when the 2nd amendment isnt about hunting and with what the amendment is actually supposed to stand for (which really shouldnt be up for interpretation). At a point its going to involve having to get rid of the amendment all together to proceed.

anti-gun=/=anti-2nd. when someone says dems are anti-gun they are mainly referring to their support of the second amendment and what that amendment actually stands for (hint: its not about hunting). things like AR's and by extension magazine capacities would fall into that based on the concept of the 2nd. with that so would many other things technically too of which many people on the right are also against or wont bat an eye to while spouting bullshit towards dems.

personally, i dont trust either when it comes to firearms, but i REALLY dont trust dems on them. actual leftists are more for those types of gun ownerships, but where they falter is that they dont want those who they disagree with (which can be a hell of a long list) to not have them while they sit high and mighty.
