I've played a few so yeah. They need to be designed well so that important objects aren't easily missed and puzzles make sense. Trial and error in this genre can be tiring.

That's true. I don't make a huge salary, but I like my job. I know I could definitely get a better paying job, but I may not like the job itself as much.

Think of it this way. Your job is something you are going to be doing for 40+ hours a week for 50 weeks a year for the next 40 years. That's a lot of time spent at your job. If you hate your job, you will hate your life.

On the other hand, you do need a good enough salary to live. Rent/mortgage and bills and stuff are not cheap. You're unlikely to be self-sufficient if you work a minimum wage job. You also need to make enough money to save for emergencies and for retirement. You never know when an emergency may hit and you need the cash to pay for it. You also don't want to still be working when you're 70 years old. If you don't save for retirement, then you will be working when you're 70.

Sure, there's a minimum threshold. Luckily I can do without silly crap like dining out, dating, phones, travel, etc. I've always kept things simple. Got my games, my cats, some savings, and a bit for fun extras on occasion.

I dunno, is it so bad to be working at that age? My previous boss was around that age before retiring and I think staying active (within your limits) is important to keep from falling apart. Some people retire to the couch, put on 50 pounds, and the story doesn't go far from there.

You don't live in Oregon do ya? I'd get in touch with the shipper and tell them about the mistake. Several years ago won a Saturn lot on Ebay just before the holidays. Waited a while and watched the tracking as it got to my area, where it sat for a time before it ended up all the way across the country. Couldn't begin to explain how or why. Luckily the sender found out where it went, had it sent back and reboxed (some asswipe dropped it and broke a lot of cases), then got it to me a month or so later.

People are so technologically ignorant. They buy things connected to the internet and expect the software to automagically do everything for them. Perhaps if he took the time to manually configure a firewall he could be better protected.

Maybe. I don't own anything like this so could a firewall be bypassed if there's a firmware bug? I mean a firewall is supposed to make it invisible online (more or less) but as tech gets more complicated there are new ways to get around everything.

But then product won't stop being sold. Just here in the U.S. so the product won't go away. It's crazy easy to order illegal shit from the internet and have it sent to you. The people that are willing to ignore the laws will still get them.

As Schmen's saying, homemade ones are still possible, but this will definitely take them out of stores, which means the only way to get one will be to buy it on the black market (an extra step that can be punished) or make their own. They're already out there, at this point they're just wasting their time. Using it poorly can also be punished but that's not a deterrent.

I'm trying to avoid the same. It's weird that Malwarebytes reported nothing and drive scans came back clean. Haven't yet found a reason why my PC takes over 20 minutes to reboot or on random mornings the drive light is on and the system unresponsive for some time. Works fine otherwise it seems.

Pretty much anything that isn't FPS. Then you got other things like VR that need motion controls, lightgun games that need the appropriate controls, etc. Analogs are very versatile but I'll never struggle to play an FPS with one.

I played both a long time ago. Only once each so I don't recall a whole lot. I should make some time to revisit my GB/GBA collection.

It's hard to work with longer nails so not really.

I can't imagine liking the degrading items part, so I'll see how the rest of it is. That's what makes sequels tough. How much can you change to keep it from feeling stale without giving up the 'feel' of the franchise.

I think they called it HD because it sounded better on the box. I mean there are glasses that can improve your vision beyond simple magnification. It's not literally HD.

Tetris maybe, but I've played for so long that you don't really 'think' as much as go on autopilot. Gotten my sprint time down to near 1:20.

The last real puzzle game I played was Talos Principle.

I don't either as there isn't one anywhere near here. Have visited it once though for the food court.

This is something you have control over. You can't control loss of digital. Internet goes down, your account or servers gets hacked, it's all gone just the same. The companies certainly aren't going to help. They'll blame your password and deny responsibility.

It does have some positives I guess, like space. But if you can't afford a large place to live I'm guessing you can't afford to have a physical video game collection anyways. And lazy reasons like not having to go to the store, wait for shipping and such.

Don't forget the PSP Go and Ouya. 3 unsuccessful attempts at digital only by different companies. We clearly don't want that.

To be fair the market is big enough for both. Digital does let us have smaller games that wouldn't be worth putting on disc. As long as it's under $10 I'll buy some digital content. But overall I don't see myself letting go of physical. They can switch to flash cards and drop optical drives if it's more efficient, I'm ok with that. Digital only, I'd get off the train and enjoy replaying my collection.

My physical game collection is worth over 20k USD, maybe over 25k. If all my games were digital the only value I'd have is the systems. That's a LOT of money loss if digital.. that's a huge factor.

Next would be making money ( yes 90% or more of the time modern games lose value ) but all my retro stuff went way up over the years. Lots of modern CE games went up though like Breath of the wild Master Edition for example.

Physical you can trade. To stores or friends.

Lending is better for physical. So long as you lend to a good friend. Being an adult I don't have issues lending to other adults.

Oh add storage, Physical is usually better in this regard.

Also add that with physical it's always mine to use, with digital the servers to re download will go down one day and you lost the game.

Thought of more reasons, you can buy physical used so cheaper. Also sales can be better on physical. Most cases cheaper physical over digital.

I feel like we have this discussion regularly and the digital turds just don't get it. They're paying more to get less all because they're crying about 'clutter' or they're too friggin lazy to get up and switch a disc.

I've always said physical gives us control over when and where we play. Digital gives the companies too much power. It's mostly a wash when it comes to storage. You're either buying discs or multiple HDD's/flash cards. Personally I'd rather look at colorful game cases than a few external drives. DL'ing wastes a lot of time. Then there's the rest of your points all of which are valid.

Perhaps the biggest crisis is reliance on ISP's. They're greedy scumbags no doubt. Do we want to risk our entire library on keeping a connection that may not remain reliable, may not stay fast enough, or remain sensibly priced? F that mess. I could live without playing online. Losing my games because I can't sign in or something, well someone besides me would have a bad day.

You don't need to drive a Porsche to know it goes fast. So yeah with the tools we have to discover info on any topic we like I'd think that saying is baloney.

Go away, you're wrong and stupid. Unless they can magically rewrite a disc or show up to your house to steal it, there isn't anything they can do.

If they wanted they could force an update that prevents the game from working. Kind of how konami and Sony forced PT to stop working even if you had it installed already.

They haven't altered the data though. You'd only need to play offline, uninstall the update, or otherwise start fresh and it would work as it did previously. If they rewrite your digital copy you're hosed.

Very true which is why you need to look for store deals that don't exclude Switch games. A good way to dodge it is buying gift cards when they're on sale. Just last week Dollar General had $50 to GS for $40. I like $10 free. Used it for Tetris.
