In 2017 alone, the company lost nearly $1 billion when all was said and done. According to Variety, the streamer ended up losing $920 million in 2017, compared to the $531 million it shed in 2016. The loss is being attributed to not only spending more on original content but launching its live TV service. While Hulu's live TV certainly accounted for a major piece of that loss, it's also important to look at what content the service launched last year. In 2017, Hulu premieres The Handmaid's Tale, Marvel's Runaways, Future Man, and Dimension 404. Additionally, it ordered the miniseries The Looming Tower and debuted several documentaries, including Becoming Bond, Dumb: The Story of Big Brother Magazine, and Batman & Bill. It's hard to blame Hulu, though. In a world where Netflix seemingly releases new shows every week, the streaming service is simply trying to keep up. However, as Variety points out, Hulu's services, including its live TV package and the on-demand options, are only available in the United States. Meanwhile, Netflix has deployed worldwide. While Hulu revealed they ended 2017 with over 17 million subscribers, it's a far cry from the 118 million Netflix has amassed around the globe. While services like Hulu and Netflix claim they have massive amounts of money to spend on new content--Hulu previously said it planned to spend roughly $2.5 billion in 2017--eventually, a profit has to be made. Given that Hulu's investor's include companies like Comcast, Time Warner, Disney, and 21st Century Fox--which is about to be purchased by Disney--chances are the well is going to run dry eventually."

Seemed like a win/win, since we were hanging out a lot and company is nice. Girl is an alcoholic. Dont think I realized just how non-functioning she is. About 4-5 months later, I finally had to kick her out. Received a grand total of $480 from her during that time, which just about covered prior handouts and destroyed property. Wasnt even an economic thing, as I live in a single bedroom. She was entirely emotionally dependent on me by that point, and had exhausted our friendship with nearly daily spirals. Culminated with her resorting to cutting, and I just couldnt have it around anymore. Feels bad that I cant even remember a time when I could comfortably call her a friend. I remember that being the case when I took her in, but things change when you wind up being an enabler and getting mooched off of in so many ways. Lost a friend and had to basically throw them to the wolves. And I couldve been focusing energy on myself all that time. Could've picked up another job instead of expecting to be able to rely on a second income any day now Feels bad man Sounds bad. Sorry that happened.

Not sure what transferrable skills I have outside project and account management. I know the feeling. Just keep trying man. Like Tom Petty say, the waiting is the hardest part.

Cocytus 01/29/18 11:23:51 AM #1	My job. I'm a teacher, substituting atm. But, I call in a lot because I don't like it per se, or because of middle-aged-man health problems. I don't know for sure if I'll get in trouble, but maybe. I have a love/hate relationship with the job. I been looking for full time teaching but only bad schools seem to call me, or I go to interviews, I think it went great, but I don't get called back. I have faith that it will all work out, but I'm a very impatient person when it come to business. How about you? What's your biggest problem atm?
