| AsucaHayashi 12/30/18 1:36:29 PM #3 | kinda made the same mistake and took on hard too from the beginning. i followed a spoiler free 100% guide(one early game decision ended up costing me several days in the end xd) and still get my ass kicked without major preparation. the secret is apparently to farm for as much dough as possible in your second dungeon and then get the SP recovery items asap. --- |

You have the bulletin board, a shop, a blacksmith, and that's it. Once you've cleared the board of the 1 or 2 hunts in each location there's little reason to spend time in any place that is not directly related to the main quest. And there's basically nothing for Geralt to do recreationally, like minigames and stuff. it's a witcher game.. he's supposed to hunt monsters, solve local mysteries and help buddies in need for money/items/favors/general progress. gwent is the recreational stuff along with fist fighting and horse riding... --- |

Doesn't make them not good, it's just a limitation of video games. witcher 3? most locations placed in the game serve a purpose. the only real immersion-breaking filler are the hundreds of minor treasure chests or nests scattered everywhere but they do fit the theme of the world and they're mostly one and done instead of random stuff to artificially extend the longevity like repeated randomized events in other games(skyrim). --- |

They may try to produce cash cows like GTA online and Red Dead online, but they need to be given credit for the INSANE amount of detail in the games. the cost for this detail seems to be at the expense of fun gameplay. been hyped up for rdr2 like most others but the backlash due to the "realism" and un-fun gameplay seems real. --- |
