tl;dr: girl dated a guy before finding out he was a criminal, and he started harassing and extorting her after she dumped him. The campus police started investigating, but she didn't think it was fast enough so she called the regular police that told her the campus PD had jurisdiction. In that 2 week period the guy lost his shit and killed her.

cops only purpose is to maintain order at any cost.

people gonna learn one day that they are on their own. cops cant protect you from being shot, raped, robbed, etc. they only show up to clean up the mess afterwards.

It isn't like police are just going to ignore you, but there are situations where it's too dangerous for a cop to go in and intervene, and they shouldn't face legal consequences for considering safety.

I did. She wasn't ignored. This was a case of the system failing her, not individual officers.

Honestly, having seen some of those systems before, it could very well be they were never trained on it, especially if they aren't given direct access to the system which would be common for security positions.
