Most states allow you to give reasons that you turned down a job offer while you're on unemployment and in most of those places "The job they offered was substantially different in pay (or role) " would be sufficient.

As much as "As long as it isn't the government, censorship is cool!" is an overused rebuttal, I feel like I'm maybe okay with you being a little "censored" by a company paying you $100 million.

I think regardless of what you think about the respective causes, a state party censuring a member is "more appropriate" than the national party doing so.

All I see is people that dont seem to want or have sex but havent actually expressed themselves as asexual, doesnt count.

I feel like from a narrative perspective, the number of stories where a characters asexuality would be relevant to the extent where you would need them to directly state they are asexual are fairly limited.

I think the distinction is valid in some circumstances, but usually it's brought up in circumstances where an older person is actually sexually preying on a younger person where I don't think that distinction is relevant (since it's mostly about an abuse of power).

In this case I feel like the flow chart is not a good way of representing the information.

I think the idea is that people will often check in on their friends who are outwardly showing signs of struggle but sometimes you need to check in on the friends who seem like they have everything together.

Happy endings are best when they are earned.

However, happy endings are so expected due to being the norm that writers try to create tension by stacking the odds so high that any resolution has to be either masterful, or not earned in the slightest. A lot of writers can't pull off the first, and so we get a lot of unsatisfying happy endings.

With certain genre of movies nowadays though, it seems that bad/grey endings are the norm though, so there's the same aspect of "it's not earned".

Like I remember a string of horror movies getting released that tried to make it a "twist" that there was a bad ending and it was like...you all have bad endings, I would be more surprised if someone survived.

I think there are two aspects of this conversation.

The one is about Elon Musk and his magic pill which seems like it's all fluff. I don't really think many people in here are arguing that they believe Elon Musk can accomplish this or anything.

The other one is that TC very clearly is more concerned that if there's a "cure" that he won't be considered disabled anymore than he is about whether this would actually help people.

If you're in a boxing match with one, they probably agreed knowing that they were going to win the fight

But you're suggesting that having a cure/correction for autism means that people would view them as lesser, like it's a language thing. The reality is that many people in society view people with ASD as lesser regardless of whether there is a cure or not. Those people don't matter, they aren't going to change their mind anyway.

It's as CovXY said. People are treating it differently because it's mental instead of physical.

I played GH3 because I had a Wii and loved it.

Tried World Tour for the first time within the last year and it wasn't nearly as good. I'm sure if you were doing it as a full band it would be fun, but the guitar parts got worse.

This exists for some physical ailments as well (many disorders involving the pituitary gland). I think this concern is just rooted in the overstated pop culture "savant" nature of autism.

Sure, but I think the concern is more about the phrasing and how this influences how people view autistic etc people (as "diseased" in need of "a cure" which implies lesser-than, perhaps), as well as eg 12 year olds who lack strong self-government abilities and might be forced to get it just because their parents said so

Obviously there are slight differences state to state, but "assault" doesn't carry a requirement of any physical harm.

Also in particular sexual assault does not require it. For example using non-physical coercion to force someone to expose themselves to you would be sexual assault.

I don't think people are claiming this is the same severity but as eston said, you're talking about an experience that is trying to make you feel like you're an interactive participant. There are certainly elements of it that can feel like assault even if you aren't physically feeling anything.

It's not like calling it sexual assault means that we have to start throwing people in prison for 20 years for it.

Let's rephrase the question: Suppose when you receive your vaccine, you receive an NFT to describe the necessary data pertaining to the shot. Would you guys be opposed to needing a vaccine NFT for authorization to eat in at indoor restaurants?

Yes, but not because it's requiring a vaccine but because the "NFTs for your vaccination records" seems like taking a centralized system and forcing it into a decentralized one.

Also the process of verifying the authenticity of your NFT to restaurants would probably add a layer of technology that you really don't want to go through when purchasing food. Because if you're not verifying authenticity, then you might as well just be showing a vaccine card.

Explanations can still be excuses.

Coinsource is a bitcoin ATM. It's an exchange between off chain assets and on chain assets. The need for confirmations and to have a high enough fee that miners snatch it up but a low enough fee to seem like a cheap service is what makes it take a while.

When you day trade on an exchange, you're not actually transacting on the blockchain. You don't have to wait for 6 blocks to go by to guarantee that you have your money.

Using trading volume to measure how "easy" it is to buy and sell without adjusting by how many users are in the system is a dumb way to do it. For the end user the difference between exchanging bitcoin for dollars or vice versa (outside of the inital kyc/etc.) and buying/selling stocks is going to be relatively small in terms of speed.

Bouncing a land doesn't really seem RG. I think destroying a land and having them search their library for a basic (or something like that) would feel more on color.

I think it's too cheap by modern sensibilities. The OG Pillage is 2R and that's typically been considered too cheap. Adding a green gives it a little power but then you get the extra land drop. 4 mana feels a little too expensive though? Unclear.

Bitcoin is as easy to buy and sell as most stocks are.

The limitations as a currency that I think you're thinking of is that the blockchain can't actually handle all the transactions that e.g. Visa processes in a day. You're capped at ~10k transactions per 10 minutes.

If a person is day trading though, all of that is happening on a backroom ledger at the exchange. They're not actually running all of those transactions on the blockchain.

There are certain financial opportunities that I don't take advantage of because I would feel immoral doing so, even if they are legal.

Sure maybe time to time there's a particular thing a billionaire is able to do that I'm jealous of, but if that was the motivation for me disliking billionaires, there are a lot more people I need to dislike.

If you're doing a lot of day trading and are actually using that exchanges rates, you don't want to be transferring to and from their custody.
