Im only about 2/3 the way through season 5 now but I like it a little more than 4 so far. The show was missing a villain, Krease just wasnt cutting it, and Silver seems much more threatening.

Also the Robby hating Johnny storyline after season 2 was the weakest plot, so glad they squashed that in episode 1. Just so unrealistic for those characters to have not just worked their shit out.

I like T2 more, I also like Aliens more than Alien, but I am just not much of a horror movie fan. All 4 movies are great though, T1 and Alien are some of the only horror movies I do like

Reach is one of my favorite campaigns from a plot perspective. Great story, amazing characters, the cut scenes and the music and everything is done so well.

For some reason the gameplay though is one of my least favorites, it just seems like they went way too far from the Halo 3 mechanics and tried to add in a bunch of stuff from Call of Duty, this was about when Modern Warfare 2 was extremely popular. You dont feel as much as a super soldier Spartan I thought, compared to the original trilogy.

Also they got rid of the battle rifle for some reason, definitely my favorite weapon, and stuck is with the DMR, just a shitty version of the Covenant Carbine, I hate that gun

Tom has become a bit of a fan favorite, but I also do not like his chapters in Fellowship, and am glad the movies cut him out lol

There are a few decent theories based on things in Tolkiens letters, but each one doesnt quite fit perfect on who Tom is supposed to be. Just have to pick your favorite theory and go with it

I think it really depends on what the pipeline issue is for Halo Infinite. Development on it is glacial and that doesn't really work for what they're going for.

If it's due to staffing, management and priorities then yeah that can be fixed using the existing foundation. But if it's due to engine issues or something inherent to the core of Halo Infinite it probably is better to start from scratch.

I think things may be more clear when we see that rumored Halo Battle Royale mode. That probably will re-energize the game but again the question is how regularly can they keep updating the game with new content?

The one positive sign is the new studio head managed to fix MCC when he took over that project in 2018 and overall that was a much bigger mess than Halo Infinite is now. So hopefully that can transfer over.

Looks like this guy did a lot of research into the development, pretty great video. Basically the old development lead for Infinite lied to Bonnie Ross about the state of the game, and got fired for it after the disastrous E3 reveal. Turns out the whole engine of the game was pretty much broken, and everything was made w/ a lot of "technical debt," which is basically the features somewhat work, but it is impossible to add anything to it. So 343 has been moving so slow and spending all year basically rebuilding the engine.

Unfortunately Halo is years away from being fixed, Infinite is dead, they should just cut their losses and start working on the sequel.

Sauron = Halbrand. Blue Wizard is my best guess too for meteor man, but I also think the showrunners will just say fuck it and go with Gandalf because name recognition.

Besides a few character and place names, pretty much nothing is drawn from the source material, this is all a brand new story. Im not saying that makes the show bad, but trying to predict what will happen in the show based off what happens in the established lore is pointless

Lol whoops. Well I guess just having read The Silmarillion and Unfinished Tales recently, my mind keeps having to jump through hoops to get this to all work. I can enjoy it more if it's its own canon. At this point I'm half expecting Isildur to have a baby and it's Aragorn lol. Arathorn was just an alias for Isildur, and the Third Age is only 87 years long.

The show is a brand new story, anything in the established Tolkien lore has been relegated to just Easter eggs for viewers.

the secret to the first season being good and the second season not being great is that the sapkowski novels are exponentially more dull than his short story work, and season 1 blitzed through the majority of the short stories, so now all that is left is the novels, the first two of which are maybe some of the most uneventful fantasy stories ive ever read in my life

No because the framing of the movies are different. In T1, it's a time loop. The Terminator's goal is to prevent the birth of John Conner who we know was nearing victory over Skynet. It's expected that Skynet will be created, so T2 establishing that Skynet is created using future technology doesn't negate the victory in T1.

In T2, the plan is to change the future entirely. The struggle would be negated by an ending that shows they didn't which is party of the reason T3 is terrible.

This, unlike the first movie the entire T2 story and every character arc in it is built on the changing your fate theme. Would have been a slap in the face if they tagged on a lol surprise you cant change the future cliff hanger to the main plot just to set up some crappy studio cash grab sequel

That would have just made the entire struggle that you just watched John, Sarah, and Arnold go on be a complete waste of time. It would have ruined the movie.
