In Ragnarok, we get the funny play retelling Thor 2, w/ Loki's part played waaay up, because Loki was pretending to be Odin at that time. It is funny, and also gives the audience a look into how Loki perceives himself, and how he interprets historical events. The play scene in Love and Thunder was longer, dumber, not as funny, and served 0 narrative purpose, providing no insight into any character. --- Hello world! |

When differentiating species it is widely agreed upon that you look at A: can they reproduce, and B: Are those children genetically viable and also able to reproduce. When looking at a Liger for example, all males are born sterile, so a lion and tiger are classified as different species. Orc/Elf/Dwarf/Human hybrids have none of these reproduction issues I don't think. --- Hello world! |

And there should be no surprise that there would be different variations within those species (that would include dark skin). Not quite true. You can't really use traditional evolutionary biology when looking at Middle Earth since everything was created by gods, but Tolkien never says they are different species, and elves/dwarves/hobbits/humans/orcs have no genetic problems interbreeding with each other. Similar to different breeds of dogs I would say. As far as character skin colors go, I don't have a problem w/ multi racial elves in the show, you can just say Eru made them that way and they are immortal. There are also darker skinned humans in the lore. I can see the argument for a clan of dwarves all living together under the same mountain for thousands of years, they should all look very similar by now, even if they started off as all different skin colors. In a tv show though my concern w/ the skin color is pretty much 0 when compared to the talent of the actors that are cast. Complaining about a character not having a lore accurate appearance always seemed dumb to me. --- Hello world! |

Basically has all the same political backstabbing and maneuvering, but even more dragons. Just the White Walkers are missing. Also the plot for the show has been fleshed out a lot in writings already and the ending is known, so we don't need to worry about the show runners trying to scrap their own ending together. I'm glad the show is doing well, there is so much potential in the GoT universe for more stories, would have been a shame if the final GOT seasons ruined everything. --- Hello world! |
