Of course not. One can achieve this physique within the 4 years that they'd potentially forfeit; perhaps even sooner than 2 years if one is dedicated enough.

And at 35 I still look great.

You were looking for validation in this topic and that's it. You completely ignored anything anyone who had opposing views and used the other comments to validate your shitty behavior.

This really goes both ways. You insisted on your opposing comments hoping she'd listen to your opinion. This is a way of validation on your part too. And obviously you got upset that she ignored your comments altogether. This really shouldn't upset you though. You gave her your two cents in this situation. That's it. Whether or not she made this topic for validation isn't any of your concern. You said your piece and that's all there is to it. If chooses not to go by what you've said, there's nothing more to be said.

I get it. Honestly I don't care how his friends feel about this...I'm more concerned about how your husband is going to take this.

I just think that you went about this the wrong way. You basically threw him a curveball. He's like WTF we had plans...I guess were not good enough for you. I know you don't mean that...but that could very well be what he's precieving your actions to mean.
Believe me I know it sucks, but sometimes you have to spend time with your significant other's friends. I haven't always liked my girlfriends friends...I've even downright hated a few. You're there for your husband, not them.

This is clearly bothering him and you know it, otherwise you wouldn't have posted this. There's always next time. Next time make plans to spend time to see both sets of friends if possible...or alternate.

I understand what you mean and understand how this may look. But chances are, if she wasn't even a priority with them, they probably wouldn't even notice her being absent. Also, being married doesn't just mean attending things together. It also means covering up for one another if the need arises (provided shes honest about this whole thing with her husband and im sure she is). After all, as a husband, his priority would be HER feelings and not what his friends will think. A nice excuse (not too exaggerated) will suffice. And people will take it. It's not as if the husband's friends will give it a lot of thought either. I wouldn't be surprised if they just said: "Oh she won't be able to make it? That's too bad. Oh well.".

People are fickle that way towards others whom they don't have a deep bond with and there's nothing wrong with that. People are people. It is what it is.

That's not really entitlement.

This. Not liking something =/= you think you're owed something.

True but I think what he meant is that the other person feels no gratitude. The person will spit on his friend's face because the mode of entertainment (which he wasn't entitled to and got for free) failed to please him. That's ingratitude right there and it's a sickening attitude to hold. And the problem with said attitudes is that it tends to leak to other aspects of one's life; personal or/and professional.

That's fine.

Be with people who want to be with you. When you've made an effort and it isn't reciprocated or understood, you either make more effort (and risk getting hurt) or leave them be. Either way, it's your decision and IMHO and as long as there's no animosity between you and the people you chose to leave behind, then you're all clear.

Not poor. My parents had the means to have anything they'd want but instead chose to invest for the future. My father worked himself to the bone and was well compensated for his efforts. My mum stayed at home to raise us and keep the household together.

Even with restricting decisions in place, we wanted for nothing and that's probably because we were raised to want only the simplest of things.

That being said, we have a good easy going lifestyle. We went to private schools, summer holidays were busy with extra curricular activities...Looking back at it now, we had plenty of disposable income but my mum would never spend anything unnecessarily. We all had brand new cars when we went to the university (courtesy of my dad! he loved cars! XD). We also had two housemaids around the time I was a teenager.

I'd say we are upper-middle class.

I have done it quite a few times and I must say that it is very relaxing and it does help in falling asleep easier. It's very cathartic. But still, I prefer to shower in the morning.
