Stadium and Stadium 2 would be 11/10 games if the rental Pokemon all had move sets that make sense.

i'm assuming the whole point was to import your own pokemon into the games if you had the transfer pack but of course renting it didn't come with it and buying the game used you didn't get it. so i never even got to use it.

would be cool to bring back the series on the switch 2. can even have them tied to the switch pokemon games assuming they're backwards compatible and import your pokemon into stadium to use. actually didn't they have a stadium game on the switch or was it something different? there's so many spinoffs it's hard to keep up on them.

So what counts as beating this game? just beating each of the tournament modes? The gym leader challenge?

I remember the move sets being trash but didn't remember just how trash they are. Doing the pika cup or whatever that's capped at level 15-20. Using rental pokemon and I see Alakazam like wtf that's broken. Then see the move set is like psywave, mega punch and whatever the 2 other moves were. I still grabbed it since it's a special wall in gen 1 and curious to see if psywave in this game is as bad as it is in the gameboy games.

kinda different genres. hollow knight is more like the dark souls of metroidvania while metroid is more like...the zelda of the series. was gonna say mario but most of the games are harder than any mario game. probably overall harder than zelda too but then i know a lot of people that struggle with zelda that never played it before.

this. he's honestly played better than he should be he's a shell of himself. like he's maybe as bad as peyton manning was that last year on the broncos when everyone was ragging on him for how bad he played.

definitely not. 2D platformer is a massive category. even just metroidvania there's no way it's universal. it gets a lot of love and i definitely loved it but everyone has different tastes and i can see it being way too hard for a lot of people. i seen so many people struggle against hornet that i think a lot of people would quit around there. lot of my "gamer" friends are way more casual with it.

she'd probably have more fun with the switch if she just watches you play. but if she does want to get into PC gaming then it's a cheaper option than building a pc just will be obsolete in a few years when it comes to anything new if it doesn't already struggle for AAA new games.

but if it allows 2 people to be on steam. like she can play on the deck while you're playing on pc and she can still have access to your library than yea that could be worthwhile. but starting from scratch would definitely be an expensive investment getting that and the game. especially if after a few months she decides she doesn't like it and ends up being a waste of money. but i'd assume you could probably sell it for like 70% of it's value. which is why i mentioned using your game library so at least you're not buying a bunch of new ones for it and can mostly play what you own/got for free over the years and then buy black myth which both of you could play.

jackson dinky for over 20 years now. before that had some cheapo bass my parents randomly bought me for christmas even though i never asked for any musical instruments. think it was like a yamaha from kmart. they also got me bass lessons i think i did for like a month and quit. got rid of the bass and then went to guitar center and got a guitar since i thought bass was boring.

never bought anything else. really haven't played much at all in a decade but always wanted to get back into playing. would love to get a stratocaster or les paul. but i'd probably get an acoustic first if i ever do buy something.

Another problem I haven't brought up yet is while I know we share nerdy interests, I have fuck all outside of that. She was in the Army (I think that's right) and has traveled around, even learned Korean... I'm a just some boring guy with no interesting life experiences or really any knowledge or personality outside of pop culture...

i'm a few years older and single so i get the whole parents bugging you to settle down thing. so i think just kinda slowly hinting at your mom for info might help you make a decision about it. like if your mom says she hasn't told her anything about you except that you like nerdy stuff then not really much of a way to know if mary is even interested in meeting you. like if mary is asking stuff about you then that can be a better sign or could maybe just be her being polite but hard to know but if your mom has been bringing mary up to you for 6 months she's probably been doing the same with her.

like maybe having mary over for dinner might be a good way to go about things. like just a casual dinner at your home and not a date. or maybe something like you picking/dropping your mom off at work and just getting introduced to mary to at least get that part out of the way and just a quick thing and you leave.

depends on what it is. electronics? usualy try to fix. like i've replaced phone and laptop batteries. they're a pain in the ass to do with a lot of stuff but $20-50 for a battery or $1000 for a new phone or laptop. granted had to buy some tools also the first time but then you have that ready for when you need them again.

if it's something i can figure out on my own then yea i'll do it. even car stuff i'll look up how to do something and if it doesn't seem too bad and not something i could royally screw up the car then i'll do it myself. if it's gonna be more of a pain than i want to deal with then the shop.

$100 for multiple games. i know the old call of duty games i'd be with the season pass so think those were like $100. i bought some collectors editions. i got the one for horizon forbidden west but it was half off. so wanna say i only paid $100 for it. don't think any has really been more than that.

actually i bought the tony hawk collectors edition with the skateboard but turned out it was only the deck and you had to buy the trucks and wheels for it still. not sure how much that one cost but i preordered that.

if we include rockband and guitar hero then like $200? i forget what the original rock band full band set cost or the rock band 4 full band set was. i also have the i believe it was rockband 3 that came with the pro guitar. so whatever of those 3 that cost the most was the most i spent but that's accessories and not just the game so different category.

plus the ones with in game ads that screw you up. seen it even in a rhythm game like wtf?

and so many of these mobile games have the exact same base just copy and pasted and slightly modified. like no i didn't buy this game to battle with heroes and crap. the game ads are completely different and like oh this could be fun and then the real game is like 30 seconds of that like once every 10 levels.

i mean it's still probably the 3rd best star wars movie. rogue one being the main one i can see people putting in the top 3. possibly either episode 3 or 7 as well. all 4 are about that range with episodes 4 and 5 clearly being the best.

this is just legalized gambling for kids. especially with all the machines being rigged and they'll only do a strong grab after like $20 has been put in even tho the toy cost them like $20 for 30 of them. but guess it's not really much different than slot machines designed so the house always win and most only have a return to the player of like 95% sure some people get lucky and hit the big winners but the machine always gets that and more back.

trying to market to background viewers? we do that we stuff we already seen a bunch of don't really care that much about following along too closely. like i mainly do that with youtube which i still use more than any other singular streaming service. i'm not gonna be like oh here's so new netflix show that's good to have on while i'm cleaning the house.

i can see where you're coming from with it. kinda seems like it. we'll have to give it a few more years and see if she goes metal.

gen 1 is so bad. i started with yellow and then got red and loved them at the time not knowing any better. but i went through crystal and crystal legacy and the original crystal was still so bad. legacy the movesets are still pretty bad but fixed a little without changing the game too much.

actually you can evolve the pikachu....if you trade it away and then trade it back lol. i did that and then it just acted like a regular pikachu and wouldn't follow me around or anything so i just boxed it since pikachu was so much weaker and i was dumb and just soloed the game with pidgeot cause my younger cousin told me that's how he beat brock so i just had it super over leveled. but yea i ended up evolving the pikachu into raichu but still didn't bother using it since i had the legendary trio and snorlax for the E4. that was back when charizard would just have ember, fire spin, flamethrower and fire blast cause who cared about move diversity?

i've always wanted to go to new york but i'm not going to times square to stand in the cold for hours with a million people. i'd like to check it out with nicer weather tho. but i have a feeling after being there i'd be glad i didn't live in a major city like that with so many people. but would be cool to check out the nintendo store and whatever other cool stuff they have there.

yea if you get a new one custom made you get more color options. but then you're waiting months on it to be made. works if it's a planned upgrade but not when you need to find something asap or getting something used.

isn't there just a regular HDD inside of the portable ones? if so could open it and get the drive out and connect it to your pc with an external one to get the stuff off. an external reader is like $20. watching that vid i'm pretty sure once you take the connector off you could just throw the drive into your pc motherboard if you wanted but getting an external would be easier and they're good to have around anyways.

i just made a deck with it but haven't used it yet. not sure what the meta for it is but i just have 2 serperior lines and 2 celebi ex and some filler. i only have 1 erika.

i kinda got bored with the game tho and haven't done a battle in like a week. but i mean i played like 2 months so that's more than most mobile games. not sure how much longer i'll continue or if something will get me back interested in it. just boring seeing so many of the same decks over and over and seeing it be pay to win at least for the people running new metas the first couple days.

I can't stand it when an RPG has save points. This isn't 2002, let me save anywhere whenever I want. Even Golden Sun accomplished this, and that WAS a 2002 (?) game.

Password systems that have ridiculously long, drawn out passwords.

When a game has like 4000 side quests and almost none of them are worth the payoff.

for saving i think it's more so you can't softlock yourself since when you lose you go back to your save. but granted if you get screwed and have no items you can save scum and take a step and save until you get out of the dungeon. or just make it like pokemon games and you black out and exit the dungeon. but while we're on save points i kinda hate how most don't heal your character.

for passwords it was all the coding needed to save your inventory. so those long ones make sense. but in games that give you a long password and all it does it start you on a level with nothing then yea i hate those ones. like wtf was the point? just give me a level select after i beat a level and let me start from there.

definite agree on the side quests. especially when it's late game stuff and you get some crap weapon or gear that has been useless to you for the past 20 hours.

Control is amazing. i beat it on ps4 and ps5. but yea it's been free multiple times from multiple sources. but still great for anyone that has skipped it.

and if they didn't 25th biden what makes people believe it'll work on trump? biden should have never been elected in the first place and how he made it through his 4 years(although he's been in hiding most of this year) tells you the 25th is probably never getting used. at least not if the president is still conscious.

It's an ASUS ROG Zephyrus GX703HS-KF075T. Bought it in August 2022 so annoyingly not too far gone from the 2 year warranty.

i had an asus rog a few years ago. it ended up slowing down so bad it was basically unusable. like not even a graphics problem. it was struggling just to load up anything. and of course was after the warranty expired. so i think they might just not build those laptops to last and just going with the apple model of letting it go to crap and force people to upgrade.

have you had to replace the battery on it? i had 2 batteries completely die on it to the point that i had to leave it permanently charging. if it came off the charger for even a split second it would turn off. was so freaking annoying replacing the battery. was like doing surgery on the damn thing. so personally i'd look at getting a new laptop first. preferably from somewhere you could return it if need be. then once you get it and backup your old laptop then try to clean it and put on new thermal paste and see if that helps. if it does then keep your old laptop. and worse case if it doesn't or you find it to be too much of a pain to take apart(which it is if it's like mine was) than you can just say screw it and throw it out. just take the hard drive out or factory reset it first.

$800. had it 8 years and it still pretty much feels and looks brand new. got it from one of those liquidation places so it was probably over $2k originally. got it on sale and got a deal buying the frame and box spring and a headboard and a couch the same time.

anyone have one of those cooling mattresses? do they actually work? i sleep hot and i've tried those "cooling" pillows and they're really no real difference from a regular pillow. the cooling side feels nice when i first flip the pillow over to it but after 30 seconds it absorbs my body heat and it's no different than just flipping a regular pillow over.

i tried the chicken wings. they really weren't that bad but just super small. like definitely wouldn't be the place to go to get wings or anything but i definitely expected them to be much worse.

del taco has a burger on their menu and i think chicken strips. even arbys has been doing a burger a bit now. only a matter of time before taco bell does one as well.

i played like 5 minutes of it. there's just so many metroidvanias now it's hard to find some that really stick out. i might eventually go back and play them but i just went through and beat all the gba ones again so i'm metroidvania out for a bit.

They released a revision recently that has hall effect sticks and there's even an Xbox branded variant with back buttons. I'm tempted to get that one but I've heard extra buttons on 8bitdo controllers are kind of pointless since they don't support SteamInput and they can only be programmed as macros.

this has back buttons and you can program them. just depends on what you're using and if it registers all the buttons. not sure about steam cause i haven't bothered using them because i'll accidently hit them and most pc gaming i've done doesn't even use all the other buttons.

I got the exact one I linked, the 8Bitdo Pro 2 Bluetooth Controller. The one that looks like a classic-y Nintendo controller. I like the sticks being in the PS controller position since I figured I would use this mostly for my Switch and retro games. I should really use this for my Raspberry Pi as well for my emulation station. The handles are textured which makes it feel overall nice to just hold.

I watched it and agree with what they said. Can use it wired or wireless, but I have only used it on the Switch at the moment.

i have this and it's great. the switch on the back lets you use it with pc, switch, apple and android. only used it on my pc and android tablet and worked great with both. works great with steam and other games. just get a bluetooth one.

i have a 2.4ghz of one of the snes controllers and that worked great as well. was nice buying some new and working easily with a 30+ year old console.

but yea on pc i'd definitely go with the ps1 style with the side grips.

i loved the original SNES one. not the crappy one based off the movie. but it was a super bar bones beat em up. ritas rewind doesn't seem like it has much depth to it. definitely not worth $35. if it dropped to like $5-10 i'd probably pick it up for nostalgia.

i had that happen with doordash before while i was at work. it was mcdonalds or some kind of breakfast food left at my door. by time i got home it was sitting out there at least 5 hours so i just threw it away.

another time got a walmart order left at my porch so that stuff i kept. had no name/address or anything on it. so it was doordash or one of those companies that also do store deliveries as well. left it out there awhile and it wasn't really anything good. a cheap mirror and a cheap lamp. ended up giving the lamp to my mom so that worked out at least.

i had to double check the list. when i seen stan i just immediately thought of randy. kinda forgot all about american dad for a second.

went with hank. definitely not perfect but with the new seasons we will get to see how bobby grows up to give a better judgement.

i never got too much into bobs burgers. but i get why a lot voted for him. he just seems more obsessed with work than his family but a lot of that is just the show focusing more on his job(at least what i've seen of it) while king of the hill doesn't focus on hanks job much and mostly shows his home life.

i thought you would have failed by now. i think doing an RNG order would be easier to stomach since you'd get modern stuff mixed in. it's gotta be hard with these old ones and looking at some of the scores it definitely seems to be the case.

CE like the forums are dying. i thought RI would get a boost from people getting b7 from here but that place is still dead. i remember the CE/RI rivalry from like a decade ago when both boards had about the same amount of users.

i watched it months ago for my first real time. i know i've seen parts as a kid but never the whole thing. overall i liked it but without the nostalgia for it and all the hype it gets i definitely expected it to be way funnier than it was.

actually i just checked my library and dredge did finally show up there but took like 20 minutes to show up. still think i'll wait till later tonight to redeem the last 3 in hopes it works like normal.

yea with dredge i tried to link amazon to my GOG and got an error. got the email saying i claimed it but still no dredge in my GOG so i'm gonna wait before trying any of the rest.

dredge was a great game. i'm assuming it's only the base game and not any dlc but definitely worth playing for those who haven't.

is GOG down? i'm trying to redeem overcooked 2 and it keeps getting an error. i was able to redeem them fine last year.
