There has to be at least 30 claw machine arcades that opened up in Vegas this past year. Crazy how traditional gaming arcades struggle to make a come back but claw machine arcades are having some sort of renaissance.

Before this past year the only places you can find a claw machine off strip were like Walmart or Dennys lol

claw machine = gambling
vegas = gambling

this is just legalized gambling for kids. especially with all the machines being rigged and they'll only do a strong grab after like $20 has been put in even tho the toy cost them like $20 for 30 of them. but guess it's not really much different than slot machines designed so the house always win and most only have a return to the player of like 95% sure some people get lucky and hit the big winners but the machine always gets that and more back.

They're almost as bad as slot machines. They're programmed to give out a set ratio of wins to losses.

Try one and see if you can put it in test mode. Never done it myself, always curious though.

In Vegas I figure there is some tomfoolery at hand, but back in the day at Walmart as long as the objects weren't oversized. I won on them a lot with friends. Still have the plush things for some reason or another.

Now that giant ape with the big boxing gloves that was clearly a middle finger to anyone who tried to play.

Depends on the machine.

My daughter and I play a lot of claw machines and you can tell quickly if its a skill machine or claw fails x% of the time. That said, other variables may be rigged against you, such as placement, shape, and weight of the prizes.

I remember 10 years ago or so, my Wal-Mart got rid of what little arcade it had, and ended up getting 16 crane games at the entrances. I guess now it's finally spreading to Vegas.

Slots are highly regulated and don't need rigged, nor do casinos want to lose their gambling license over doing it. The 2%-10% of every bet guaranteed going to the house is all the legal rigging they need.

Claw machines are straight up programmed to only grip grip every so much coin-in. They're far worse.

The perceived progression slots are pretty dubious ngl. Should be illegal. It's basically claw machine in slot form.

It's perfectly legal to have a set payout, since odds are clearly displayed. Slots are a losing game, over all. You don't win at slots if you play them regularly, you only win if you get lucky and cash out.
