I really liked 3-5 but I just don't really get the point of Kaito blowing the plan for no particular reason - I think either;

1) the plan works, the game is blown, and that sets the stage for the finale

OR

2) Kaito has to give up the plan in order to save Maki

but it was kind of silly the way they did it

imagine needing that one for a bingo and getting it at the VERY end of the movie

I think the scene in the ruined throne room clearly counts as a visual echo to episode VI

You can never like, "make a mistake" during investigation so don't worry about that. Most "wrong" options in court will let you know and don't automatically game over you with a couple of rare exceptions. Generally speaking though the game will railroad you in the right direction.

One reason I would have liked just a little more explanation of how Palpatine returned was that I fully expected it to be some kind of trick. Like I thought maybe that crane he was attached to that I guess was supposed to be keeping him alive/allowing him to move was actually operating him like a puppet, or some other kind of man-behind-the-curtain ruse. I don't really think that's an unreasonable thing to think, so if they didn't want me to think that, they really could've made it clear that I shouldn't.

I mean I completely empathize with you, even though I liked this movie more than TLJ. I think it's a little bit crap to backtrack on some of the stuff they did in TLJ. I don't think you're going to be the only one with this opinion

Yep. Basically, because of the time zone trick in 1-1, they had to make this call immediately, and this was the call they made and they've stuck with it since. I think if they made this choice in 2019 they'd leave it in Tokyo.

Basically normal if I recall correctly, he does not do 1337 speak in Japanese, that was a pretty significant example of punching up the dialog. I remember loving it back in 2005 though, it was so unusual for a game to make references to internet culture back then, so it made me really feel like the writers "got" what they were doing. Even at the time his internetisms were outdated, so the joke always kind of made me laugh.

Yeah, the AA series is great at stuff like this. I really like you pointing out the attention to detail on the presentation, because it is a really important part of the game.

1-2 does end kind of weird though, if you think it was abrupt that Mia just shows up and gets Redd White to confess you're not alone; most cases end on a far more satisfying note

I wouldn't play any case out of order your first time through.

There IS one exception to this; AA1's final case can be played either right away or after AA3 is concluded

rather than them being a letdown right after each endgame epic case, just get 'em done now. Pretty darn sure none of the first cases in each game of this trilogy spoil any part of the previous games past like, case 1-2.

You really have to get used to the game that this is not a game about actual legal proceedings, it's really more of a murder mystery drama where you're playing a detective who then argues his case at a fancy debate club that looks like a court. Once you sort of recontextualize what the AA series is actually like and forget about all the silly legal shit it makes more sense

I think this case actually did a surprisingly good job at capturing the weightiness of the whole situation; it's downright melancholy compared to the rest of the series' tone (with a couple of exceptions)

Can you prove that nothing happened to it between then and now? Even if it was taken into evidence right after the murder, maybe the clock broke when it was used as a murder weapon or something

I'm a little worried because the menu screen when I loaded the game didn't give an option to select a game, it just immediately sent me into Episode 1: The First Turnabout, but so be it.

You really can't play these games out of order, they're sequential.

big drop off after the first four for me. the original trilogy has always been a sentimental favorite; I felt like TFA knocked it out of the park and was really a fun throwback to those times that did everything right. TLJ was a weird and kind of stupid mess, Solo was so much less than what it could have been, Rogue One was a bit of a slog to get through, and the less said about the prequels the better.

Dalvin Cook got hurt and Mike Boone stepped in to get the Vikings' two rushing TDs, so I fail level 7 again

I think it actually sold really well? it's just one of those weird things where it was in early access forever and is PC only (for now) so like, people have definitely been talking about it, just over a long period of time and not among places B8ers typically see.

it's on GamePass for PC too if anyone wants to check it out
