Id really prefer not to play the distasteful psycho analysis game and focus on actual analysis, but I dont see it as a winning strategy for you given how you are rejecting the most obvious conclusion of all.

I will continue to psycho analyze you because your response has been to reject evidence that damages any case to repair your brusied ego and just mention things like "obvious" as your counter arguments. How is "a 60-40 becomes winnable for the loser one year ago" by any stretch obvious? It's ridiculous. Master Chief is one of my favorite video game characters largely because of exciting GameFAQs matches

Luigi Yoshi and Bowser I like less/dislike more because they win too many debatable contest matches where I like the other guy more. Also Pokemon characters in general.

I'd take Ryu > Luigi most years, this year included based on their performances. Ryu beat Bowser in 4 ways twice in 2007 (lost to roid Bowser in 2005 though) and has generally seemed stronger than Luigi more years than not. Probably real close though.

Well normal rallies aren't actually always dead obvious. MMX had some surges early. They just seemed to be "normal voting" because they were during times of higher voting but the match was well ahead of usual vote totals even before the last hour.

I don't think the gameplay is really that similar to Arena. You generally have a stat advantage cause of how the forts work and can pick when to pick a fight because of the weird terrain and passive enemy AI.

Arena is more about not getting anyone killed and funneling kills into your bonus unit. This mode is hitting the objectives of killing their dangerous units, killing their aethers, often while leaving one of their less dangerous units alive you do these things, all in 7 turns.

Has some similarities to arena but plays pretty differently imo

I liked the mode better when it first started but I'm pretty much happy for any new mode that isn't mindless grinding. The weird terrain and objectives to kill the aethers makes it play differently

Yeah I'm at 3400 also knocked out of top 3000. Had some blunders. Lost units to dumb stuff a couple of times and had one loss to an upgraded defense fort that had a +10 Fjorm I couldn't kill. Should have got one more match in to get to 3500 but my last battle had a really obnoxious setup for getting their aether stores so I'm sitting on 36 Aether I can't spend

Also I'm annoyed you don't get any lift for successful defenses, as I had one.

An appointed position that serves the same purpose as a princess is functionally a princess if we call it one. We could name a female Vice President of the United States princess and it'd be indistinguishable from a princess aside from the reign timing out after 4-8 years

Princess is "that title the author gives a female character when they want them to have the appearance of being royal or revered in some way with none of the actual responsibilities." It has no actual defining characteristics. It's a meaningless formal title that at some point possibly becomes a more useful title.

Princess of Staten Island isn't really her gimmick it's just a name.

Kairi Sane's gimmick literally is "the Pirate Princess." I'm not versed enough in NXT to be able to easily source a video where she does much with the gimmick (it may not exist because she doesn't speak good English yet and NXT isn't big on the gimmick hype packages anyway) but she comes out wearing pirate garb billed that and carrying a pirate chest. Carmella... just wears cool shoes and calls herself that once in a while. She'd better fit "save my Investor" because she's also Miss Money In The Bank.

Also while we're on Elizabeth Swann I believe the in-universe justification for Xena being called Warrior Princess is her band of warlords she rules over gave her that name. So if Elizabeth being Pirate King is acceptable because the Pirates called her that I don't see why Xena being called a Warrior Princess isn't. She probably has rights to rule more than Elizabeth ever did.

I think you're over complicating things in general, despite my technicality arguing for Xena.

If someone is known as a princess they should be in, even if it's not your cliche type. If it's like something they're often called like "hey princess" or a moniker that's just a minor non-defining nickname like Carmella's "Princess of Staten Island" not so much.

Like it's not like the title of princess is some sort of thing that inherently has any sort of value. It's just that, a title. Kairi Sane is "the Pirate Princess" and Kairi is a Princess of Light or Heart or whatever the crap she is and Xena is a Warrior Princess. That should be enough.

Luigi vs Tifa
Have had Luigi > Tifa > MMX (> Mewtwo) in my bracket since the start. Haven't really had much reason to doubt it. Luigi hasn't really disappointed and I would put him above MMX in general, as Mega Man fans have proven they know the difference and don't just treat X as a Mega Man proxy. I expect not a commanding win but a comfortable one that even HENTAI RALLIES won't be able to stop.

Sephiroth vs Ryu
Ryu is up to FIGHT but I think Sephiroth is going to be just a bit too much for him. Really the only way to humor Ryu winning here is to take Amaterasu's performance on Sephiroth as the most flattering, and have KOS-MOS at her peak strengths. I mean, this is maybe vaguely plausible if you take Chun-Li's performance vs Ganondorf seriously. I don't, however. Prefer Seph here but I'm voting Ryu because it's time he proved himself in the FIGHT. The answer lies in the heart of battle-- well Sephiroth unfortunately has the answer key and it was Masamune.

Yeah. The MMX topic was apparently popular enough to break into subscriber feeds though according to I think Zen, which gives it a bit more sway vs Extha's.

I find the registered vote numbers (which have hurt FF and helped Nintendo across the board) most compelling though rather than attempts at trying to compare rallies in any case. 5031 to 5029 MMX, a difference of literally 2 votes. I mean even unrallied it's probably really close-- not trying to claim X isn't even in it without them but yeah. Probably 50.5-49.5 Tifa or something.

So this means that Ryu Hayabusa is worth ~44% on Auron. That seems very high to me if we consider that Ryu Hayabusa is the guy who lost to Kefka and Zack Fair together in the poll in 2013 and I don't see any reason why Ryu Hayabusa would boost this year.

I've always thought something weird happened in that match. It looked like Hayabusa and Zack were LFFing each other. Yes I know that doesn't make sense but what I'm saying is the result was always weird looking. You gotta assume Kefka SFFed Zack really hard and Hayabusa fell off a cliff, neither one makes a lot of sense to me.

Point is I'm not sure how seriously I take it.

Tifa probably should have lost to MMX. That's not sour grapes or anything, it's just true - the rallying actually pushed the match out of being a great photo finish to being a fairly clear win in the last 30 minutes for Tifa.

Worth noting that X had a pretty popular rally topic on reddit that was up for a longer time than Tifa's stuff. Tifa kinda stormed at the end but as KP pointed out Tifa was basically 50-50 with the registered vote which implies in a completely unrallied environment Tifa wins given FFVII usually does better with the anonymous vote (and Mega Man worse)

I'm saying she's functionally a princess in that she has right to rule over lands, but is not the current acting ruler. That's what a princess is. Her "throne" is the areas she's conquered over time but has not chosen to because she's busy conquering other stuff.

The alternate timeline is what happens when she eventually takes the right of her throne and the natural proceeding if she's not redeemed and stopped from conquering everything.

It's not princess by hereditary right but I don't see why that matters. She takes the title of princess by force from the lands she conquers, biding her time to actually exercise her ruling right until she's ready, which never actually happens in the normal timeline but that she becomes queen of earth even in an alternate timeline illustrates that she was functionally the princess of the land she conquered for a while.

Sure it does. She can't actually be the acting ruler of the area she conquers otherwise she'd have to actually rule it, hence why she's not. But she is heir to ruling it whenever she wishes to be because it's her right as the conqueror.

Supporting evidence the Hercules the Legendary Journeys episode Armageddon Now where the timeline gets altered and Xena is effectively the queen of earth because she's conquered it all and decides to settle down and actually rule the land she has the right to.

Also I think in general I tend to like bad guys who fight other bad guys as well as you, without turning good straight up. It's DEPTH ya know? Like Delita is one of the few FFT characters I actually like for similar reasons. He does it better of course but he doesn't have glorious LOVELESS heat.

Game really needed a three way fight with Zack Genesis and Sephiroth at some point, where you could stall out and have them whittle each other down. Real shame.

Also note that 2007 Samus did equally as well on Cloud, or slightly worse (depends on how you calculate it) as she did in 2004. For Samus to rise after 2004 and then fall again in 2007 would be strange...

We have no accurate measurement of Cloud v Samus in 2007 because Mega Man and Link are in all her matches causing LFF or SFF

Keep in mind the following... I don't see why Frog has to be underrated in 2005. If Samus x-stat is 45.85% in 2005 (her x-stat being 42.36% in 2004), then, then Ganondorf is at 37% on BL. In 2006 he's only 35% on BL. Also, MC was stronger the next year because of a new game, so basing Frog off of 2006 MC doesn't work. It's better to use 2003 Master Chief or 2005 Liquid Snake, and the average of the two suggests that measuring Frog from 2004 Samus is more legit.

Why not just use 2005 Master Chief...? Keep in mind that 2004 Chief probably wasn't much weaker. The Halo 2 hype campaign was crazy, much like the Halo 3 hype campaign that made Chief stronger in 2007 before the game was even released mid contest. 2004 Chief in the middle of Halo 2 hype vs 2005 Chief or 2006 Chief way after Halo 2, probably not a big difference.

I mean I'm not saying Frog probably wasn't a bit weaker in 05, but there's a bit weaker and there's being 60-40'd by yourself a year ago. When it hits that level something is suspicious.

Also on Ganondorf many people have speculated he was on roids in 05 cause of the villain contest. Bowser would also support that. Both of them having a slight regression in 06 would make some sense.

You seem to be being weirdly stubborn just to deny the obvious conclusion that has been consensus from the end of that contest, which is that Mario boosted significantly and Samus didnt.

I take a consensus reached from people licking their wounds on miscalling a 60-40 and grasping at straws to make themselves feel better about getting a match that wasn't even close overwhelmingly incorrect with a lot of salt.
