I don't vote for users and I also don't demand votes as a user, but I am also not a ~force~ in this contest like Chris/charon, so it is hard to argue with success.

yeah like FFD did a wonderful job of trying to make these contests about the users instead of the characters - a lot of which I think has to do with the circumstances of raytan's regime's death throes but ultimately to most of us this is a save my and not Save My User of the Year.

Right but even in the scheme of things like, I didn't interpret a vote for say Vanille as being a vote for you Inviso.

I think for me it's much easier for a user to poison a character than help them in my eyes

But generally I save for the actual characters themselves

I think the atmosphere just changes after a certain point, I want to say around top twenty five or so when plenty of people are forced to switch mains and it becomes more of like an everything goes to try to get that user to join your cause

It's important to not misconstrue supporting a gimmick or appreciating momentum with supporting a user.

Like I got charmed by year of XIII to an extent but it's not like me and Inviso are super buddy buddy or anything. If this were a user contest I would have went way harder on the likes of FFT characters but I think most of them are meh.

But I mean maybe I have a bit more support for Cid than normal because he's got a good crew? Yeah maybe. But Cid's a great underappreciated character too

oh yeah I think it's pretty tacky when someone goes out, and then supporters of the remaining characters are like PLZ SUPPORT MY GUY PLZ. Begging is tacky in general, and if my main just went out, the last thing I want is people panhandling in my face.

Yeah momentum is generally fun and seeing a character that you know generally has no shot at coming back again do well makes it a decent investment because who knows if they will ever make another run

Its probably why Cid P and Fang, both of whom had horrible stats and personal bests before this year, are still alive while the likes of Rikku/Vincent/Seymour, all of whom have very high stats and dedicated supporters, are not (amongst other reasons)

Kefkas an exception to this but to be fair he was also hard booted two years ago maybe people just miss saving him

i'm the complete opposite because I've been burnt far too many times on "this character can do well any time!" that it gets taken for granted and it becomes a stamp of doom

Though its hobestly more correct to say I have a favorite, a group of 2-5, and a group of 6-20.

Top 3 are locked in. 4-8 can fluctuate, but are a tier above everyone else. Yuna, Cloud, and Barret are very close to being top 10.

That's another meta aspect of the contest, the users don't matter to me on an anti-basis (maybe a bit on the pro-basis).. but you guys have been doing all these contests for years while this is my first time... there is too much backstory at play!

I'm seeing Strago and Gogo as the two I immediately recognize missing... and if they counted, Kiros and Ward from 8. Plenty of other temp party members have been in in the past including Reddas, Larsa and Blank... and Reks this contest, lol.

Quoting LOVELESS is just great heel heat. His Seph inferiority complex is fun too. Throw in some badass fights and that's all I really need.

Hmmm, I remember it just being cliche and repetitive but I might appreciate him more on my next playthrough, which I meant to do after Cissnei got eliminated... hoping the ol' PSP still works, haven't touched it in almost 4 years.

I think the voice acting adds a lot to it honestly. I just like to hear him recite the stuff it entertains me.

Also I think in general I tend to like bad guys who fight other bad guys as well as you, without turning good straight up. It's DEPTH ya know? Like Delita is one of the few FFT characters I actually like for similar reasons. He does it better of course but he doesn't have glorious LOVELESS heat.

Game really needed a three way fight with Zack Genesis and Sephiroth at some point, where you could stall out and have them whittle each other down. Real shame.
