I don't remember them well enough to pick a favorite, but I do remember liking the Captain's Quarters. The Casino was also a pretty fun puzzle room.

VLR had better puzzles overall though, imo.

Currently fighting games, but the real answer is that I just like watching eSports for whatever game I myself play.

Back when I was super into FPS's I loved watching MLG Halo matches, and I eventually moved on to watching League of Legends when I started playing that instead. Now the only competitive game I really play is Smash, which is mainly what I watch now.

Though it is worth mentioning I only play Smash 4 but enjoy watching both Smash 4 and Melee. I've also in the past enjoyed watching MvC and DBFZ even though I don't really play those at all. Not sure on what the reason there is.

The more I read this debate the more I feel like both sides have got it wrong, or at the least are talking about the issue in the wrong way.

To me it's not about "believing the victim" or "believing the accused" as if there are two mutually exclusive possibilities, but it's about treating everyone with basic human decency until being given a good reason to do otherwise. Like, it's possible to both listen to the victim and support them or treat them as if they are telling the truth, while at the same time not taking any action against the person accused of this without first seeing more evidence.

I'm only making a general claim here, and am not intending to state anything one way or the other as to the specifics of the Kavanaugh case and what the relevant evidence does or does not suggest.

It's definitely possible--I mean it literally already happened once. I didn't stop reading Umineko the first time just because I got bored or something.

I do know more or less what I'm getting into here. I'm trying again because I want to give it another chance when I'm approaching the story with a slightly different mindset. And I mean worst case I just end up dropping it partway through again.

Yeah I mean to be fair it wasn't actually enough of a factor to bother me in this episode. It was more like there were one or two scenes that reminded me of what was to come later in the VN.

I generally think that I'm good at focusing on aspects of stories that I like in cases where I like some things but not others, and I'm hoping that will be able to carry me through here. I do really enjoy the portions of Umineko that I'm labeling as "aspects that I like".

Umineko episode 1 beated.

I was generally appreciative of what episode 1 was going for anyways the first time I tried to read this, but I do think I enjoyed that more this time around. In particular I had a much more positive reaction to the episode 1 Tea Party and the introduction of Beatrice and Bernkastel, so I think that's at least a good sign for how I'll react to certain aspects of the story that turned me off the first time.

I do still have problems though with the obsession this VN has with running itself in logical circles just for the sake of it.

Wario and Waluigi are intentionally given obnoxious character designs which is why people don't like them. Toad is just a super minor character that doesn't matter.

Though for the record I also might take Wario to win this fourpack if he were in Rosalina's place.

So to be clear, you can't control them directly, but you are able to give them general commands like "focus on healing" or "focus on knocking down enemies" or something. There's a pretty decent number of them such that generally, I've found the only major difference gameplay-wise is that you're forced to choose all of your party member's actions for a given round during the MC's turn rather than choosing everyone's actions as you go.

The exception to this of course is Mitsuru who for some reason has an AI that reeealllly loves using status spells. I recommend just not using her if you can avoid it.

Also it's probably hard to get them to take specific healing actions. Like, you probably can't get them to use items effectively and I can't remember whether or not they will heal status. Also I think they're programmed to heal whoever has the lowest/most missing health, which might be a pain if you want to focus on keeping the MC at full HP. The way I play the game I've found these were all minor issues.

I liked Azumanga Daioh. It's not like the funniest anime ever in terms of pure comedy, but I do think it nails feel-good nostalgic school life in a way that most other similar shows don't. I don't know why this one in particular struck a chord with me, but I remember thinking episode 19 was a top tier anime episode for reasons related to that.

I'll also say actually that I don't like the ending of Alternative either. Feels a bit too...cliche I guess? Also I'm generally not a fan of endings that completely undo all the events of the plot in the way that this one does, though within that category of ending it's not as bad as it could be (but still not great)

The stuff in the middle from the Extra timeline stuff pretty much up until the final arc is top tier VN content though imo.

I actually agree with this. I loved Alternative overall, but the early parts are actually some of my least favorite parts in the entire series.

In any case I don't really see this as a problem; I see it as the justice system working successfully, and I think lowering the standard for conviction just because certain crimes are harder to prove is a very, very bad idea.

I will point out that a not guilty verdict doesn't mean "this person did not commit this crime". It means "there is not enough evidence to say beyond a shadow of a doubt that this person did commit this crime".

Supporting the investigation of a crime is not the same thing as declaring the one accused of the crime of being guilty.

"Innocent until proven guilty" does not mean "innocent unless damning evidences spontaneously materializes in the laps of the public from out of the ether". The way the system works is that when there's a possibility someone committed a crime, you search for more information to uncover the truth of the matter, and then decide whether they're innocent or guilty. You don't just immediately cover your eyes and then shout "well I haven't seen any evidence yet so we can't say that they're guilty!"
