I have read the first 4 chapters of the visual novel and am waiting for chapter 8 to be released on Steam before reading all of the Answer Arcs.

Probably my favorite visual novel as of right now though.

Edit: Have not watched the anime and likely never will because I will maintain that this is impossibly difficult for anybody to adapt both faithfully and successfully.

This is jumping ahead a bit, but I actually think Snake > Mario is significantly more likely in loser's bracket. If there's a a Link/Mario final it's going to be an Nintendo SFF Beatdown, and I think the voters are going to try and avoid a second all-Nintendo final.

And if it's not a Link/Mario final, that means either Snake is stronger than Mario anyways (so picking him in loser's still makes sense), or there's been a rally and none of this matters.

It's much less pretentious and fanservice-y than Monogatari so far, if that means everything. In terms of target audience I'd say it's closer to a KEY anime than to Monogatari, though I don't think you cared much for those either.

I'm no biology expert, but I'm pretty sure Seph has the right idea here, at least in the sense that it is a question of probabilities and that they won't produce definitive results such as "one relative from 7 generations ago was Native American". You would have to infer that from whatever the percentages are which would have some margin of error associated with them. What the typical margin of error is on these things I don't know.

To borrow your choice of words, it would be more accurate to the say that the other person's lie becomes more dishonest.

In both hypothetical cases, someone who has an obligation to tell the truth to the public is stating something that was untrue. I'm leaving open the possibility that this could be either due to malice or due to ignorance, but either way it's certainly not good.

However, the person who does not correct their mistake is telling a second lie in the process (by insisting they aren't wrong) and is also removing the much more benign possibility that they are not telling the truth due to ignorance.

In honor of all the new Raildex stuff being announced I decided to finally go ahead and start watching Index. (I have already seen both Railgun seasons, so I already know somewhat what's going on.)

Biribiri still the best.

Index is also a noticeably more entertaining character than her cameo in Railgun might indicate, but she's still not near the level of Misaka.

I'm not sure this is 100% of the reason but I think it's their style of character. Meta Knight was really strong (stronger than Bayo imo), but he was good because he had a really good moveset with great frame data and range such that he could simply come out better in a large number of exchanges.

The anger-inducing part of Bayonetta is a combination of the fact that her moveset gives her very versatile movement options which allow her to play extremely safe/non-comittal and get out of most any disadvantageous situation, and she also has the capability to start zero-to-death combos in many situations if the opponent makes a mistake, which means she's very unforgiving. (These can be escaped from with DI, but it's not easy and in some percent ranges they are 50-50's no matter what, I believe). The combination of her really strong punish game and being easily the "safest" character in the game just makes her a very oppressive and frustrating presence in the metagame.

So basically if you're familiar with competitive Brawl, imagine Brawl Ice Climbers but without any of the downsides of Ice Climbers and also without Brawl Meta Knight to keep her in check. In reality Bayonetta is not getting zero-to-deaths nearly as much Ice Climbers for whom that was pretty much the entire character, but it can happen still which means she's still perceived in that fashion by the community. It's also worth mentioning that even if the opponent gets out of the full zero-to-death combo, she still has 30% to 40% or something that is guaranteed most of the time and is extremely easy to do.

As with literally any other collective of people on the planet, the Smash community is by and large a reasonable group of people with a small number of extreme exceptions who are the ones that get the attention of rabble rousers so that they can try to make an example out of the entire community.

Bayonetta is a loathed character in Smash, and she's DLC only. If she beats Riku, it'll be because of Bayonetta 2 strength.

Which she can do, but don't bank on Smash fans for this one. Trust me. We just had a tournament where Bayonetta was allowed and people walked out on the final because it was a Bayonetta mirror, with the winner getting death threats. If Smash fans notice that match they'll vote Riku out of spite.

As sad as it is, the bolded part is not a phenomenon exclusive to this one event or only to Bayonetta players.

The general gist of the post is right though. Bayonetta as a Smash character is hated by pretty much everyone in the competitive scene--players or spectators--and to a much much larger degree than any previous Smash character has been.

It's possible that the gaming community is de-centralized enough that what I'm referring to as "the gaming community" is actually some subset thereof, but I cannot even remember the last time I've heard the Grand Theft Auto series even mentioned, much less talked about in any significant fashion. The Witcher is in a similar boat for me.

What I'm saying is not purely a numbers thing. For example the best selling PS2 games are Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Gran Turismo 3 by a pretty sizeable margin, but I don't think anybody is going to claim that those are the "biggest" PS2 games as far as the general gaming community is concerned.

Western series like The Elder Scrolls or Uncharted or Mass Effect are big enough that I'm constantly hearing about them even though I have no interest or stake in those series whatsoever.

The Witcher just...isn't.

I've said that Rosalina could be stronger than Peach, but ultimately it's not something I'd taking in bracket if the match came up I don't think.

I don't think I'm a diehard SAO fan, for the record. I almost didn't continue the series after season 1, and I still never watched either of the movies which frankly I don't care about at all. I have significant problems with large stretches of the show, and I wasn't particularly excited by the prospect of getting 48 more episodes of SAO (though it's turning out good so far!). It was more just like "oh so there's more SAO I guess we'll watch it and see how it turns out".

I just legitimately consider this to be a series that is good more often than it is bad.

I think PA Works is good sometimes. I really liked Nagi-Asu and Tari Tari, for example. And Shirobako was pretty solid.

Not really feeling Iroduku right now. I could cite a lot of reasons for that, but what it really boils down to is that neither the main character nor the premise of the show have proven interesting to me so far. I'll keep trucking along for now, but there's a high chance I end up quitting halfway through if the show doesn't give me something to latch onto.

Anyways the other 3 are all great, in contrast to that.

Bloom Into You has been a really solid yuri series so far, and I love both the leads. Even though I have this in 3rd, this is the show I have the highest confidence in it remaining great, since it just seems to be a very competent romance series. Rascal has had a really strong first 2 episodes, but I do think there's a chance that, say, the first arc might be the strongest while the rest of the show might not be as good. (I have a similar but much more extreme opinion on Kokoro Connect, which is a show I've already compared this to.) And SAO is well, SAO. Thus far it's been pretty good fantasy imo, but with this show you never know what you're gonna get. I do really like that this is shaping up to be a more traditional fantasy series. Much more in the spirit of the first arc of SAO, except honestly this so far seems to be even closer to fantasy than that was.

Now the question is do I add Zombieland Saga to this list of shows. Right now leaning towards yes.
