I think it's more of a cultural problem than a gun problem honestly (though I would say it's both). Its just that solving either problem is sufficient and solving a gun problem seems a more straightforward task.

For what it's worth I am just as upset by the idea of people being pressured not to kneel in prayer as I am by the idea of people being pressured not to kneel in protest of social injustice.

I expect this is a majority opinion among people who are upset by the latter, at least. This is of course only based on my limited observations.

Sora no Woto is one of those shows I thought had a lot of real cool ideas but felt like nothing ever came together right. The characters are still solid at least and I think I probably liked it a bit more than you, but I also feel like it had a lot more potential.

I will say for Roba's benefit--classification of Senjougahara into a character type is somewhat of a traditional talking point for the Monogatari series. (Moreso on Reddit than on here which is why it caught me offguard a bit, but yeah).

For example there are people who like to describe Senjougahara as a tsundere/yandere/kuudere all at once.

Personally I just don't think tropes are a good framework with which to describe her, but if I had to classify her as a traditional character archetype then tsundere is probably the one I would pick.

It doesn't help that as some people have said, half of the time she's herself invoking the trope and acting in a certain way because it's a trope rather than because it's her actual personality.

Also in other news that was a really dumb episode of My Hero Academia imo. Not a huge shock considering we knew it was going to be filler, but whatever

Closed room mystery stories don't exactly work well in a world where like 90% of the population has superpowers, including some already established ones (off the top of my head invisibility, teleportation, whatever the hell Edgeshot's power is) which break the closed room hypothesis without much trouble.

And also it wasn't a very good story anyways even if we set aside these weird logical inconsistencies with the MHA world.

Hanekawa might be my favorite also? Either her or Senjougahara. Though to be fair after just season 1 it was Senjougahara by a landslide for me. Hanekawa wasn't especially high up on my list yet, but she has some really strong scenes/arcs later on the series imo.

There are some secret/hidden quests for the record, though I don't think there are any in the prologue. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Also you might have realized this already, but NPC dialogue updates pretty frequently in this game, and it's also more substantial dialogue than in most RPG's. I don't recommend trying really hard to make sure you read every line of dialogue from every NPC (which some people do) because that can be exhausting, but I think it's good to know that this is a part of the game if you like that sort of thing.

Thoughts? Some stuff in there I agree with, some I think is a bit of a stretch

I feel like the author might be on to something with this sentence specifically

But other than that I think the angle with which the issue is explored feels totally off-base, if that makes sense.

Like I believe that there's a real feeling/fear among Trump's supporters that the national identity of America is somehow under attack, but I don't agree at all with talking about this issue with "corruption" as the unifying theme in the way this author does. First off I don't think it's an accurate way to describe the issue even in the minds of Trump's supporters. Second I think it serves to paint Trump supporters as full-blown Nazi-style racial purists, which I think is both incorrect and highly damaging to public discourse.

Damn. Seeing as I made it this far I was hoping I could survive until the halfway point.

Also, after that one avoided dropping in the first 10-20 songs I was not expecting that to be my first out. Had it pegged as sort of a "love it or hate it" song. (That's probably slightly too extreme a description, but you get the idea.) Especially not when I also have All or None as one of my noms, and sad vn songs have been dropping like flies >.>

I love it so much (obviously).

I especially like the part at 0:55 and how the more tense first and second parts of the song break into this more peaceful and harmonized melody. The image it evokes in my head is something akin to seeing a lone ray of sunshine breaking through the clouds after an entire night of storms, or something. (I'm sorry I'm not a poet.) I could legitimately talk about why I think this sort of melodic progression also ties in to the themes of the show itself, but I don't actually want to exert the effort to do that.

I will say however that that is a running theme with a lot of my favorites OP's or ED's--that they end up influencing the way I end up interpreting the show. (moreso with OP's than ED's it turns out, but whatever)

Also I said this before when I nominated but I really do love the visuals here. Hot take: I still take this ED has near-concrete evidence that the decision to animate the show itself using CGI was a poor one, even if the CGI looks good as well.

Also yeah boring visuals are pretty common in ED's unfortunately. This is actually one of the better ones imo, which is more a statement of the rest of them being lackluster in that department. A lot of them is just like "character walking while the credits roll" or something similarly bland though.

Ironically I've actually been more partial to the OP and to the ED that plays in episode 1 I think (Dear Love), but they're all top tier imo.

That's true of the show also to be fair, but...style just isn't enough to carry the show when it's a premise I'm really not interested in.
