Paratroopa1 06/20/18 7:38:05 PM #264 | LeonhartFour posted... You know, with all this talk about how Orla can't speak but Athena insists she can hear the "voice" of her heart, I was convinced we were eventually going to have a Mood Matrix with Orla. I'm still kinda disappointed that never happened. Seems like a missed opportunity to me! Yeah, this was the most shocking thing about 5-6 to me - I thought FOR CERTAIN that they were setting up to do a mood matrix on Orla. I have no idea how it didn't happen. |

Paratroopa1 06/16/18 9:23:31 PM #26 | And like, if stuff didn't break, you would just get in the pattern of using the same one or two weapons all the time and it'd get boring. There'd be no reason to out looking for new stuff too. It would be totally stagnant. Weapon breaking is one of the best things in the game because it keeps your weapon loadout fresh. |
Topic | Help me get into The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. |
Paratroopa1 06/16/18 8:46:46 PM #24 | I feel like I'm the only one who loves the weapon breaking system. The thing is, you just have to embrace chaos. Don't worry about saving your weapons. They aren't meant to be saved. Use them, and enjoy them while they last, and there will be other good weapons coming your way shortly. When one thing breaks, just pick up the next thing and keep going. I feel like breaking through the usual mentality of materialism in video games is very important to BotW not driving you nuts. Once you really embrace just living off of whatever weapons you happen to have any given time, it feels great. You just really have to accept it. Other than that, for me, I love BotW's world because it actually feels large and open. I feel like I can run and climb wherever I want and I can kind of make my own paths and create my own challenges by whatever route I decided I wanted to take to get to a place. Challenges always have a way of feeling emergent, which is cool. I dunno, I just love chilling out and kind of getting lost in the world. |

Paratroopa1 06/16/18 7:13:09 PM #221 | LeonhartFour posted... You know, it's kind of astounding comparing the two DLC cases with each other. 6-6 feels so barebones, but 5-6 really feels like they put a lot of extra work into it. It has a voiced intro and closing monologue from Phoenix. It has several FMVs. Plus, the backgrounds are gorgeous. The Aqua Tunnel might be my favorite background in the series just in terms of aesthetics. 6-6 remains my biggest disappointment in the whole series probably, after how good 5-6 was, and then how good the entirety of AA6 is If 6-6 were as good as 5-6 then AA6 would be my favorite AA game by a mile, but I can't quite put it there because of that. |

Paratroopa1 06/10/18 4:35:32 PM #175 | LeonhartFour posted... Apollo barely escapes with a scenario that turns out to be 100% wrong, which is great. This is one of the most interesting things about this case to me. Is there another case in the series where the defense proposes a really good-sounding theory that gains traction but turns out to have absolutely no truth to it whatsoever? Like, I think there are times where the defense gives a theory that is incomplete or has wrong information but at least advances some notion of truth - this one is 100% wrong but gets him out of the day and I think it's the only time that happens |

Paratroopa1 06/10/18 4:05:28 PM #173 | NeoElfboy posted... Why would you think it isn't intentional? It's not like the writers didn't know the twist. There's a few other little hints that are funny in hindsight, like Jinxie calling him a ghost. I would say it wasn't written in quite the way that would make me 100% sure that they intended it. It's a common enough turn of phrase that it could have been coincidental and I can't think of a lot of other instances in the series of this kind of 'funny in hindsight' wordplay - it's not zero escape which is chock full of it for instance |

Paratroopa1 06/09/18 12:01:50 PM #155 | Klavier does get underutilized in 4-4 though. And arguably a bit at the end of 4-3, but he has good stuff earlier than that - I like that the first time in the ENTIRE GAME that Klavier shows any sign of surprise is when Lamiroir accuses Daryan. It's a good moment. |

Paratroopa1 06/09/18 11:59:20 AM #154 | I actually sort of gained a newfound appreciation for Klavier on my AA4 replay. He's not so bad, the fact that he's a relatively normal guy instead of a brooding mysterious person with a dark past like... basically literally every other prosecutor, kind of makes him different, and I'm okay with that. |

Paratroopa1 06/09/18 10:55:53 AM #152 | Yeah, counting Asinine Attorney seems pretty pointless, nobody really regards them as real cases. The only thing that's interesting about Asinine Attorney is that it could technically mean that Klavier appears in AA6, which is very weird |
Topic | Ace Attorney Topic Part 6: The Perceiving (Spoilers for AA1-6, AAI1-2) |
Paratroopa1 06/09/18 2:19:52 AM #149 | I think it's funny how at this point, we can very easily say Phoenix > Edgeworth > Apollo > Judge > Athena/Maya > Gumshoe > Kay > Trucy/Ema/Franziska > Mia/Blackquill > Klavier/Lang/Pearl/Larry/Nahyuta > other people and a lot of the movement at the top is pretty much done, or not going to change too much ...except Phoenix is not even close to being done, since he still has the most lines of any character remaining by far. I don't think he's going to crack 30000 lines, but can he crack 25000? He's got 5-1, 5-4, 5-5, 5-6, 6-1, 6-3, 6-6, with a major role in 6-5, and a few other lines peppered in here and there. I think it will be close. |

Paratroopa1 06/09/18 1:54:02 AM #145 | LeonhartFour posted... Paratroopa1 posted...Athena vs Maya will be interesting It's hard for me to remember exactly how many lines she has in 5-5 and 6-5 because I don't have a good bead on how many lines court assistants get. She's only the playable character in 5-3, 6-4, and a very short bit in 5-1, then she's assistant in 5-2, 5-4, 5-6, 6-2, and some parts of 6-5, and then defendant/court assistant in 5-5 and minor role in 6-6. I'm not really sure if that's enough - but on the other hand, AA5 and AA6 are both really really long. The thing is, Maya is going to pad her total pretty nicely with 6-3 and 6-6, too. I think she winds up surpassing 5000 just barely, so that's what Athena needs to hit. Apollo didn't get that far in AA4 and he had a little more time as main char... but he didn't have those assistant parts. Yeah, I guess Athena actually probably does beat Maya. |
Topic | Ace Attorney Topic Part 6: The Perceiving (Spoilers for AA1-6, AAI1-2) |
Paratroopa1 06/09/18 1:49:16 AM #143 | I am close to 100% certain that Blackquill catches Mia. Klavier has just over 1000 lines in AA4 and Blackquill should beat that easily. He might not have as many lines in any case as Klavier has in 4-3 but he has a big role in pretty much all of AA5, which is way longer than AA4, and then he gets to top it off with 6-4. He should be over 1500. |
Topic | Ace Attorney Topic Part 6: The Perceiving (Spoilers for AA1-6, AAI1-2) |
Paratroopa1 06/09/18 1:47:41 AM #141 | Apollo's definitely going to place third. 6-5 is a monster, but even that will only give him around 2000 lines? It's not enough. He's only the playable attorney in 3 more cases (plus one very short trial segment), an assistant in one, a witness in one, and then a minor role in two others. He's really hurt by the fact that he doesn't show up in four of AA6's six cases at all. (Which is funny, because he shows up in all six of AA5's) |
Topic | Ace Attorney Topic Part 6: The Perceiving (Spoilers for AA1-6, AAI1-2) |

Topic | Ace Attorney Topic Part 6: The Perceiving (Spoilers for AA1-6, AAI1-2) |
Paratroopa1 06/09/18 1:41:34 AM #137 | Lang vs Klavier is low key an interesting battle btw, I think Klavier has enough lines in 5-3 to surpass him but I'm not 100% certain of that Pearl will definitely surpass both of them since she has 5-5, 5-6, and 6-5 to do it Larry will also surpass both of them just with 6-6 Neither of them will surpass Mia |
