tbh i have no issue with the microtransactions in PUBG so far.

i dislike the system in general but it's not particularly egregious in PUBG because it's only cosmetic stuff that does not matter at all, and honestly you find a lot of stuff around the battlefield anyway. to me it's more fun to just start in jeans and a tank top and find jackets and gloves and shit as you go along in the match. gives you a better sense of progress.

after like 3 loot crates I had enough clothes that I was happy with how my dude looked starting out and that was fine. im sure there are tons of kids out there that want their dude to land on the island decked out like the master chief or something but i dont care personally and the loot boxes dont affect me as a result. i spent $30 on the game and am satisfied not paying any more

idk i liked diablo 3 a lot and think it deserves a spot in the list.

blizzard has this way of taking a game from some kind of genre that has limited appeal to people who are not enthusiasts and then adapting it so it's accessible to everyone while still remaining fun.

i felt diablo 3 was very fun to play gameplay wise and it was very accessible and flashy while still having a lot of content for fans to go through.

diablo 3 also had a lot of charm and just a great aesthetic around it, something which i feel most games in the genre are lacking, and honestly most dark fantasy games in general. diablo has charm and personality while still remaining dark and gothic, which is tough to balance IMO

These people have never heard of adult animation in their lifes that wasn't stuff like Family Guy, it was completely alien to them. And they can't laugh at these shows because they consider these shows stupid. They want a show that isn't necessarily smart or funny or well-written, but that appears to be to appeal to their surface-level taste. Because these people live for that mindless self-validation. They don't actually understand what makes for good writing or good comedy, nor have they ever picked a book about physics. They want to pretend they do so and circlejerk themselves, that's what matters.

Rick and Morty is just perfect for its demographic: these same college-age self-important Bernouts who "fucking love science". The entire foundation of the show is built upon the dichotomy between "silly sci-fi humor and references" and " things are super deep and tragic bro". This pseudo-intellectual "nothing even matters, I'm insecure about existence, we are all going to die" bullshit that R&M shits out in almost every episode is what appeals to it's audience. The show doesn't actually have the tact to even begin to offer an interesting presentation and discussion of any philosophy, so it spouts these edgy teenage catchphrases.

Nevermind the bean-headed, noodle-limbed unexpressive character design, or how the story is non-existent and only comes up when the writers beg you to feel something for these characters so devoid of substance, or how the entire show is a trendy forgettable scenario of the week memefest with just enough sci-fi references to trick normies into thinking they are smart for understanding them, or how the characters have somehow been reduced to even more obnoxious caricatures than before, none of these things matter.

What matters is that it appeals to the millenial redditor audience, and that's what's selling Rick and Morty.

it has a few absolute classics (RE4, WW, Melee, Metroid Prime, etc) but the problem with the gamecube was outside of those great games that was all it had.

you could spend the rest of your life posting topics on CE going "anyone remember [underrated PS2 game]?" and you'd have tons of people saying how much they loved that game, but i felt like with the gamecube outside of a few classic first party games it was either crappier ports of a few AAA games or kiddie shovelware.

back in the early 2000s consoles had a lot more personality than they do now and exclusives mattered a whole lot more, and gamecube just could not compete with the ps2 or even the xbox imo. that being said the controller is still pretty comfortable and games designed specifically for it feel great

I love how some people are just now trying to separate Trump from conservatism in general. You can't change the fact that the vast majority of his supporters are what we would refer to as general conservatives. People who voted for John McCain in the previous election. for a lot of people in antiquity there isn't any hard evidence they existed, so with someone like jesus we have to view things differently.

we have to say "there is this guy jesus, given the information we have of him from sources, can we conclude it is likely that he exists?"

so first you do have non-christian sources that mention him. people like tacitus and pliny the younger do mention christians, jesus, the crucifixion, and pontius pilate, and for tacitus he mentions jesus in a pretty negative fashion so it is likely that this is not something doctored by early christians because they wouldnt want to say something bad about their savior.

there are also christian sources (the gospels) and jewish sources (like the writings of Josephus, which lots of people think were doctored by early christians).

for the gospels, obviously this is not going to be something that is historically accurate but you can use some critical reading of them all and then compare them, and some of the details make the claim that jesus existed pretty plausible.

for example, according to the gospels, Jesus's parents are from Nazareth but then for whatever reason (these reasons differ in each gospel, whether it is escaping Herod or going for a census), they went to Bethlehem and Jesus was born there.

why? because the old testament prophecies say that the son of God will be born in Bethlehem. So, why did all of these Gospels provide excuses for why Jesus's parents were from somewhere else but went to Bethlehem? If they are all fictional accounts of a fictional character, why not just say that his parents were from Bethlehem? it's likely because if Jesus was a real person, people would know him and know that he wasn't from Bethlehem, so they had to make up a story for why he went from Nazareth to Bethlehem and then back to Nazareth.

so scholars do critical reading of the few texts that mention jesus and early christians to analyze the common aspects of these texts (including what might be omitted and why) and have come to the conclusion that it's most likely that Jesus at some capacity did exist, preached for a few years, and was executed under Pontias Pilate (who we know exists, google the pilate stone).

DOOM, from what I played, NAILED the edge factor. The music, the story, the gore was just all on point and was done with tact.

like you hear people say every now and then that gameplay is all that matters, maybe gameplay + story, but there is so much more to it. there's obviously stuff like pacing and level design, but then there is also that intangible "feel" a game has that just makes it work, and DOOM nailed this element perfectly IMO

it's awesome, a great blend of old school and new mechanics, good level design, pacing, atmosphere, music, boss battles, etc.

my only complaints are the gameplay starts to get kind of repetitive towards the end, the few platforming elements werent great, and that the multiplayer sucked, but overall it's a great game and one of the best this gen
