Well, I just want the info to be accurate. I'm not a huge Hifumi fan to begin with.

But yeah, if you ever run into one of those "ambiguously" whatever things on TVTropes, it's almost guaranteed just to be fan theorizing/wishing.

This is probably true. I don't normally check TVTropes for things I'm already familiar with, so I'm not 100% up to date on its intricacies.

Shogi actually is Japanese Chess. It's pretty cool. At least based on having watched March Comes in like a Lion and now feeling like some kind of shogi expert. And being a ranked shogi player can be a real job, yeah.

Hifumi is a high school student and professional Shogi player. I don’t know anything about Shogi, but I do know about Go. I think of Go as Japanese Chess, so I will now think of Shogi as Japanese Checkers, no matter how wrong that is. Also, she was supposed to be a main character but got demoted to supporting character when development of the game went too long. Sucks!

Looks-wise, Hifumi really nails the precise, princess-y look. I’m not a huge fan of that unless it’s done perfectly, and while I’ve seen better examples, Hifumi still is up there.

Personality-wise, she gets ostracized by people and keeps herself together just fine, she believes in losing gracefully, dislikes the media attention her skills get her, and yet gets super intense while playing her game. All of this sounds cute to me.

PWC-wise is where things fall apart, though she still ends up being average. I don’t know if being a Shogi player constitutes a real job and I’m too lazy to look it up, she’s apparently kind of religious?, and she has weird insecurities about being the center of attention.

Overall… still pretty good. I’d waifu her if no one better was around. I’ve never played Persona, though, so take that with a grain of salt.

The odds are there for the possibility. Meera name-checked him at the gate of The Wall in 7x01 unnecessarily and when she left Bran in 7x04 she said she had to go be with her family now. Given that I doubt we've seen the last of her, I give Howland showing up a solid 75% chance for Season 8.

You won't get more than a few lines of real value, though.

If he shows up, I think it'll only be to confirm Jon's heritage. Sam's book and Bran's word aren't going to be enough. Thanks for that, though, it does offer some hope.

I didn't realize Blizzard would just add new abilities without deleting old ones. I thought they were trying to give everyone the same number of active use abilities.

Changes sound interesting, but I wonder why they even want to nerf defense matrix anyway. I don't remember anyone saying D.va is too strong.

I kind of hate it when people nominate things with no Wiki articles. Raquel is the oldest of three siblings, the youngest of whom is destined to destroy the world. Somehow people take umbrage with this, so the three of them run off.

Looks-wise, she’s more mature-looking than most anime girls, which I appreciate. I can only take so many sixteen year-olds in school uniforms. Raquel looks like an actual grown-up. I’m going to tell you the secret method to seeing if an anime girl is a teenager or an adult: earrings. I’ve seen anime where the adults and the teenagers had the exact same faces, but if one’s got earrings, she’s almost certainly supposed to be a grown-up.

Personality-wise, she’s pleasant, happy, scatterbrained, levelheaded, and optimistic. She does lose her cool when her sister dies in her arms, but really, I think we’ve all been there, am I right? But seriously, I see a waifu with a pretty damn solid personality.

PWC-wise, I see no significant problems. The only thing is that she’s also an adventurer, but she’s not like a space adventurer or someone who’s always out doing stuff, and from what I read, she’s fairly reliable to her siblings. I assume that quality extends to anyone she is the waifu for.

Overall, Raquel looks like an extremely solid waifu. We’ve more-or-less reached the point where every waifu is going to be good, so I’m probably going to end up saying that or similar things quite a lot.

Yeah, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn voices her. And she voices the Major in the Stand Alone Complex series, not the original movie dub.

Back when Cersei crowned herself I read this article that, following the lineage all the way back, Tywin's line of Lannisters actually has a Baratheon ancestor making it not so completely fraudulent.

I'm sure by that logic that half the nobles in Westeros have a distant Targaryen ancestor.

Dr. Maheswaran is the mother of the main character’s best friend, and I have no idea why she was nominated for this.

Dr. Maheswaran’s looks are by far her weakest aspect. Not to be too blunt, but there are zero pictures that make her look attractive. Sorry! She’s clearly just not a beautiful woman.

It’s hard to judge her personality because she appears mainly from the perspective of her daughter, but she’s strict and loving. I may have overrated her a bit here, I doubt I noticed her overprotectiveness while making these rankings, but she still comes off as above-average.

PWC-wise, she seems really high. She’s a doctor, she loves her family, she doesn’t appear to have any major flaws that harm her wifability… She’s ten points higher than anyone else so far in the PWC.

Overall, it’s her overprotectiveness and looks that hold her back from being a higher waifu, but Dr. Maheswaran still manages to go far.

It was specifically mentioned that the Iron Islands have never had a queen. Unless every previous king has zero daughters or at least one son each, you'd only need one king with a daughter and no sons to have had at least one queen.

Besides, the Iron Islands also don't follow normal inheritance rules and no one in Westeros likes them. They clearly have their own wacky system of voting.

It's even more questionable because the Targaryen's used a different variant of inheritence rules than the rest of Westeros. Nonetheless, I think it only involved descendents from a female heir which is avoided here since all the girls in the Baratheon line I listed there are direct descendants of male heirs.

Nonetheless, I'm about 95% sure Myrcella was ahead of Stannis provided you assumed she was legitimately Robert's daughter.

I disagree. Myrcella would have been ahead of Stannis only because everyone in Westeros hated Stannis except Ned.

The presumed Baratheon line, if you bought into Joffrey and co being legit went: Robert, Joffrey, Tommen, Myrcella, Stannis, Shireen, Renly, ...? Actually might be Viserys, Daenerys because Robert's claim used the excuse of having a connection to the Targaryen line a few generations back.

Obviously the truth of the matter means you cut out Joffrey, Tommen, and Myrcella.

Cersei has no legitimate claim and the way I've reasoned this out is she's started a "new" dynasty with herself as the founder of the line. There are no heirs currently. Or more informally, she's made it a Lannister line. Jaime's Kingsguard oath should have disinherited him, and Tyrion's guilty verdict would have disinherited him. I'm sure there's a Lannister heir out there somewhere, but they're so far removed from this and honestly Cersei isn't thinking of them anyway.

It's questionable if Myrcella even goes above Stannis. Females always make it more complicated.

All of that is completely questionable and up for debate. It's the kind of thing wars are fought over.

Even better scenario: they beat the White Walkers and Dany agrees to let the North secede if Jon will renounce his claim to the rest of Westeros.

It's ridiculous that Cersei was in line at all, since she wasn't a Baratheon. That already throws the rules out the window, so eh.

Kingsguard and Night's Watch renounce their titles. You can later renounce your Kingsguard membership, which Tywin wanted Jaime to do and Jaime refused. You can't renounce your Night's Watch membership, but the oath technically specifies that you are released upon death, so Jon escaped on a technicality.

I still believe they planned more for Dorne and just aborted it because everyone hated it, and Tyrion killing Davos' son had about as much as could really be done with it done short of Davos going rogue to kill him. Stannis was wrapped up, unless you mean the weird way they cut Brienne's execution of him?

Whether the trueborn son of the rightful heir or the trueborn daughter of the last king, who is also the younger sister of the rightful heir, has precedence is very squirrely. Unfortunately, I suspect they'll solve the issue by just having them get married so it'll stop mattering.

Man, we now have Bran, Sam, and Howland Reed who could all tell them. The writers wouldn't have included that manuscript saying Rhaegar remarried without planning to use it.

God, it would be hilarious if Dany conquers Westeros and then realizes she's not the rightful heir to House Targaryen.

They'll be fine with it. I'm not even 100% sure that everyone even realizes it, I've spoken to some people who didn't understand the obvious implication from last season because they didn't remember the backstory to Lyanna.
