Is the factory necessary? Is there enough demand for the factory's output to warrant the cost? Well an entrepreneur has to take a chance with a big investment to find out. The workers are able to create value with their labor because the entrepreneur took that chance.

if the factory was owned by the workers, this wouldn't be an issue

Without price, how do you decide to build the factory in the first place? How do you decide when it's time to stop building horses and buggies in favor or something new? How do you measure the efficiency of plan A vs. plan B?

you do realize that factories exist already, right?

beyond that, the workers and the community can make decisions democratically

Do you seriously think large groups of people run themselves autonomously and effectively like that?
Do you think democracy works xd

I hear it got a lot better since launch.

If you want something different I recommend Secret World Legends. It's 100% free (there are obviously microtransactions associated with that), lots of content to play through with more on the way, and it's a bit different than your typical MMO fare.

Automation is going to put capitalism through an interesting test. Without labor earning money, the system falls apart. If automation lives up to its hype, we'll see really high unemployment rates.

The Schrödinger's Cat Trilogy explores this idea, and I kind of like what they were driving at.

I really believe we ought to invest in under developed nations and implement these infrastructure and economic changes there before trying to do it in our own countries first. Maybe that's selfish but it seems like a win-win to me.

How are those not prime examples of truly communist societies? The basic needs of the society are the primary motivating factors behind the actions of the society, they don't typically have private property, there's little to no "corruption" because there's nothing to fight over except the potential power play for a leadership position, but those are generally very highly revered and protected by religious dogma and deep-rooted tradition... and realistically because of the limited population sizes, there isn't really much room for a potential usurper to multiply influence to take over anyway.

Because tribes aren't communists societies

The term wasn't even coined until the 1700's, and you're literally the first person I've ever seen label tribes as "ideal communistic societies"

It's akin to calling the Romans of the Roman Empire the idealistic capitalists or some shit

It makes no sense. Sure they have similarities, but that's pretty much where it ends.

Just because the modern concept of communism is relatively young doesn't mean the phenomenon or principle can't be applied to something that predates the coining of the term.

Ideal communism (as in zero corruption) will always be better than capitalism, but the odds of an ideal communistic domain ever existing is basically zero because corruption is basically a part of being human

And corruption also happens to benefit capitalism (kinda)

"Ideal communism" exists. Just in tribes that haven't developed past the first century.

If it's a house, a shotgun is just better overall. Easy to load and easy to aim. You can change the type of shot to try to minimize collateral damage as well. With a "deagle" if you miss you're more than likely going to punch a hole in the wall and you might hit someone you're not intending on hitting.

Even for a concealed carry you wouldn't want a "deagle" just because of its size.

MMORPG Quests make me furious. I should be able to go on my own adventure instead of being told where to go because quests are the only way to level at a reasonable rate, and sometimes mandatory to unlock content. And the rewards are WAY too good for the effort. "You killed those 5 wolves for me? Here's a powerful magic mace that's slightly better than what that guy over there gave you!"

If Atelier Firis was turned into an MMORPG it would be legendary, because it gets everything RPG-Adventure right, it's just lacking the multiplayer

That's why I like the missions in The Secret World - there are some good stealth ones and puzzle solving ones that can make you pull your hair out with how ridiculous they are.

@MrMallard - I second that. Runescape has an appeal to it that a lot of modern games don't. It's very relaxing to grind out skills and listen to music. The quests play like classic 90s point-and-click adventures moreso than the stereotypical MMO fetch quest... and it's just been around for so long, I don't think I'll get over that nostalgia whenever I load it up.

Not seeing TLJ until it is on tv since the trailer for TLJ did nothing for me and I do not like the direction the new trilogy is going. The PT and SE of the OT was worth seeing in theaters but not this new garbage.

I mean, I hadn't gone to the movies for a Star Wars movie since Episode 1 (and never saw 2 or 3). Went to see TFA, was thoroughly annoyed and unimpressed, and decided to call it quits on that...

Honestly they should just amend the Constitution to remove the "natural born" requirement. It's sort of pointless, especially if you lived in US long enough to meet the other requirements. Also the first few Presidents technically weren't born in the US either.

When you're running for president, just being a citizen isn't enough. The only people who can run for president are people who were born in the country

True.

I'm glad you agree

I'm sorry you're too lazy to do research into what constitutes a "US citizen by birth", because your narrow definition of "a person born in the country" does not align with the legally accepted interpretation of what a US person by birth is. A quick Google search will go a long way.

And even if you don't believe that Trump himself was wheeling and dealing at Mar-a-Lago with Putin, the statements and behaviors of his relatives and those he has directly nominated and appointed to serve in his administration have repeatedly demonstrated on numerous occasions that numerous meetings were held with Russian officials and that there is some sort of conspiracy at some level (be it on an individual level or an Administration-wide level) to cover this up. Numerous intelligence agencies have also spoken up about the probing cyber activities of Russian affiliated organizations during the elections throughout more than half the states.

This is the modus operandi of the Russian Federation - look at what they're doing around the world.

I repeat, this is not "lol democrats bein' dum 4 4 years"

They're not.
One was a completely fabricated lie that served only to rile up one political voting base for future elections. It concerns domestic politics only.

The other is an indicator of a larger problem endemic to Western civilization as a whole, caused by one aggressive adversarial country. This problem extends beyond the boundaries of "democrats and republicans"; there is extensive evidence that such actions were taken by this other country; there is extensive evidence that similar actions have been taken in our ally nations; and you are completely wrong for trying to claim that this is nothing more than democrats and republicans being democrats and republicans. Open your eyes - even a Republican-controlled Congress is rallying for harsher sanctions against Russia. It has 0% to do with domestic politics at all.

Well, the problem was that Obama was actually born in the US and has a US birth certificate.
And Cruz is technically a US citizen by birth because of the relatively general definitions granted under various interpretations of the Constitution.

At any rate, it's an entirely irrelevant issue to this one which is specifically Russian interference in US democratic processes and Trump's potential collusion therewith. And a broader topic (but still relevant) is of Russia exerting influence abroad in many Western countries in a similar many, not only in the US.

But birth certificate talk has absolutely zero place in a topic like this.
