So much funny crap from this

- Ja Rule claimed it's not his fault but he's going to take responsibility for it (wtf does that mean).
- His business partner said it's because a storm hit and wiped out what they had set up which is obvious BS if you check the weather forecast.
- Refunds being registered on a piece of paper that people are just signing lmao that's safe.

How old would you say is too old to enlist?

Currently 27 thinking about it, have a bachelor's and master's which I've been told is good. Can do a crap ton of pushups and ran a 5k the other day in 19:30, my friends in various branches have told me I'll have 0 issue with any PT.

But I wouldn't go for at least a year, possibly two, and just not sure what the prospects are that close to age 30.

I think 35 is the age limit without a waiver.

You can go to OCS with dat degree, but you'll need to hurry your ass up and apply if you want it because (iirc) their age limit is somewhere close to 30.

I knew old guys who were E1-E5 same time I was. All you gotta do is keep up with PT and try not to get injured (cuz no one wants to hear it)

I don't remember off the top of my head, I think the 30 year age limit is a good figure but I do think it varies according to service.

But that's a good point to bring up since he said he'd be close to 30 so :\

If you have a Master's I don't know why the hell you'd want to enlist since you could easily go the Officer route and rapidly out-earn an Enlisted with similar time in.

It really depends on what your physical fitness level is. If you work out on a regular basis and have a semi-decent diet then you won't have any problems. It's the older guys who think they can just show up and pass everything because they moved boxes for UPS that run into issues.

I wonder why they got rid of Dragoons in favor of Stalkers in SC2?

The official reason is that the zerg invasion of Auir ruined most of the dragoon production facilities. The remaining dragoons were outfitted with extra powerful cannons and shields to become immortals. Stalkers replaced them because the dark templar had them around.

Where do you find official reasons for units >_> There's so much I am curious about.

It's not too hard if you just do a few sets of push-ups and sit-ups throughout the day.
I used to love running after boot camp just because of where my school was but then I reached my first duty station and I lost all interest >_>.

Anyway... I don't know if you have other questions besides gaming, but I'm more than happy to answer what I can.

As far as boot camp goes, just remember that none of it is personal against you and that even if it doesn't feel like it'll get better, it does get better. Our RDCs were asses the first half of the program (I guess that's what they're paid to be), and then after that they started softening up a bit and treating us more like people. Especially after boot camp you want to make sure to maintain your military bearing (greeting the senior ranking folk and saluting officers is a big one, I'm surprised we have to hear about that almost every week where I'm at because people aren't doing it) but you can relax a little bit. You'll still run into that one dumbass that maintains the boot camp RDC mentality throughout their whole career but they are the minority.

FWIW, the PT standards are publicly available and there's even an app you can download to calculate your PRT scores.

http://www.navy-prt.com/malestandard/20-24.html

For a 22 year old male, 50 push-ups is the equivalent of a Good-Low which is basically the bare minimum you'll ever want to achieve (if you don't go for higher). You also need 58 sit-ups and a 12 minute mile and a half.

At many commands in the Navy you have the option to do alternate cardio events that can be easier than the run for some people (other branches don't have these options by default and instead require waivers, and the alternate events tend to be harder for them). They include running on a treadmill, stationary bike, elliptical and swim. You won't have these choices in boot camp and possibly not at your A School but it is something to maybe consider once you move on, if you aren't a fan of running like me.

I have 10 years of experience (Navy), a lot of it just depends on what your rating is. If you're out to sea you're going to want to focus on getting warfare pins and qualifications and attending the shipboard college courses and doing a good job but there is some possibility for downtime where you can maybe play on a laptop. On shore you basically work a regular 9-5 job (hours will vary) and in your free time you can do whatever you want to.

You can game all the time if you want but I recommend against it and instead recommend trying to find a good work-life balance (where video games are part of the picture but also you do other stuff like ... get out and socialize with people, pick up a hobby that gets you outdoors, etc.).

EDIT: There's a lot of information about other branches' entry training but it doesn't necessarily apply. Navy RDCs technically can't "drop you" or "IT you" any more, and instead are required to adhere to fairly safe/moderated physical workouts with a max quantity of exercise reps and a limited amount of possible exercise types.

It's really actually easy if you just act mature, respond appropriately and help out the other people in your division once you've figured it out yourself (teamwork is huge).

Swiping is a faster method anyways, though. Chip is way slower.

Theoretically the chip and PIN is a more secure combination since 99% of the time they never even check your signature or ID in the US anyway. Even then, as long as the card is signed and the signature of the person making the purchase look similar enough the merchant's not going to question it.

EDIT: What a trainwreck of a paragraph I posted. What I mean is, when properly implemented even if it takes a little longer the Chip and PIN is better imo.

That's part of it, but it's obvious there was meant to be an underlying plot that was driven towards some form of resolution. The original series ended on a really bad cliffhanger and the latest season did nothing but add absurdity and complexity to the story instead of trying to resolve anything.

Also I don't like that they introduced two new characters that might be the replacements for Anderson and Duchovny, who not only have essentially the same personalities but the same physical appearance as well. It's a bit insulting.

The US would not launch nuclear weapons at North Korea, don't be ridiculous. That has farther reaching implications than just "lol blowing up Pyongyang".

North Korean nuclear weapons are statistically massive failures. Correct me if I'm wrong, but they haven't even designed a warhead capable of fitting on a missile and the missiles they test more often than not fail the tests. It's possible they could launch a nuclear weapon and it's possible it could hit the US, but it would probably either be intercepted or not land on target.

It basically says "Click Here" (in the dark blue box), and then "in order to receive more information about getting your family members or friends employed to take care of you."

It's just strange that they combined the "getting them a job" and "take care of you" part in one sentence like that and it doesn't have a very Russian flow to it.

Russia doesn't have the ability to strike US territories without the use of ICBM/SLBMs (and that would not be their first inclination, especially over a country like Syria). China is developing the ability at a more rapid rate but it still isn't a concern right now.

Furthermore, no one at all is really blaming the US for its stance against North Korea. China itself has come out in the past couple years as an opponent of the direction North Korea is heading in, so attacking NK might upset the Chinese a little bit but it's not going to provoke any sort of war with China as a whole.
