They're ok with white conservative police forces that get away with harassment of racial minorities but they are not ok with racially diverse police forces that enforce every day laws like speeding and they don't like the idea of the police "taking guns away from people".

It's a really awesome double standard.

The guys they catch are pretty stupid. If I was one of them, I would just say "hello, my name is Gary Flemming, and I go around pretending to be a predator so that I can educate young teenagers on the dangers of trying to hook up with strangers on the internet. Apparently, you thought I was an actual predator, but in fairness, you lied to me as well Mr....Hanson was it? Sounds like we are both executing stings for noble reasons. Have a great day." And then Id leave.

If they would just say that, they'd be let go. Idiots.

That's "great" in theory, but in reality they have chat logs and inappropriate items in peoples' vehicles (boxes of condoms, alcohol, etc.) that very clearly prove intent...

I think one guy did try this "defense", though (he might have even brought a letter if I recall correctly)... don't think it turned out too well for him.

I suppose in those cases that would be a bit too much evidence against you in order for that to work.

However, I have one last sure-fire way to avoid getting in trouble. When you show up with a pack of Mike's Hard Lemonade, and they call your name, just say "No, that's not my name". And then when you see Chris Hanson, just say "Oh shit, I thought this was my buddy Benny's house. Me and Benny was just gonna chill out and play some Xbox and drink some Mike's Hard Lemonades. I thought this was the house he said. Guess I was wrong. Laterz!"

And then the police officers who are waiting outside with dicks erect ready to tackle you on the pavement are going to look at your ID card and see your name on the license...

Seriously that's all they'd have to say to get away scott free. Why are they so dumb?

That's adorable that you think that would work.

Maybe it wouldn't. But like what I said earlier...If the predators would just tell Chris Hansen that they're lying to kids on the internet about wanting to have sex with them so that they could "string" them and educate them on why it's bad to agree to hook up with strangers on the internet, they theoretically wouldn't be doing anything different than what Chris Hansen and his team is doing (lying to setup an educational sting).

They even say it themselves on the show "If these guys come up with a good enough story, we can let them walk away." But they don't. They show up and tell the truth lol.

There's just so many flaws in this line of logic.
The immediate question that arises is - why are you showing up to the house after arranging to have sex with a minor when you know the minor is home alone, as opposed to trying to contact the parents directly?

A secondary question based on that question is - what sort of response do you expect from the parents when they see the conversation logs from your interaction with their child? Do you think they'd think that's an appropriate way to communicate with children?

The behaviors and actions of these people run entirely counter to what you're trying to sell us here.

I mean, I think that's really up to society's mass interpretation of the purpose of the show. The cinematography, tone, and conduct of the host and police definitely frame it as a serious show/special report focusing on the dangers of letting your kids socialize online.

I could get on board with the whole "it's disgusting" opinion if they did stuff like play gags on the guys, embarrass them publicly or added laugh tracks to scenes.

It was serious in tone, but when I rewatch I die laughing at a lot of the predators

Not gonna lie, I do, too >_>. But again that's more "our" problem and not the problem of the show... like the intent of the show isn't to make America's Funniest Home Videos out of pedophilia :\

I played it during a free weekend and struggled to stay interested in it even over just a couple of days. I have a friend who's put 1000 hours into it, and I honestly have no idea how he's done it.

It is a rather demanding genre... I don't know how people do it, either. Everyone praised Subnautica so I picked that up on the recent Steam sale, and it looks awesome and has a lot of potential but I don't know where the hell anything is or how to craft half the stuff I need, and it's just disorienting >_>.

I do recommend Unturned for the sole reason that it's free and fun, and the teenage kid that developed it has a tighter update schedule than most big name game studios these days.

Great, you've recognized you don't have super high standards for movies... this might help you understand why so many people disliked the movie.

Imagine you went on a date with a girl who was missing half her teeth, was wrinkled to hell and back, and was missing an arm and a leg... and you thought she was the hottest girl ever. You're entitled to that opinion, but you'd also have to recognize that very few people would share your opinion regarding her physical attractiveness.

They released paid DLC AND raised the price of the game while it was (and still is) in early access.
There are lots of games that accomplish the same thing (Rust, Conan Exiles, Subnautica, Unturned, etc.) which are just as accessible and offer a similar experience... I'd recommend checking those out.

because objectively the OG Ghostbusters is better than the new one.

Someone doesn't know what objective vs subjective means.

There are qualities people look for when discussing movies, such as:
- Musical score
- Character writing (background, how they develop throughout the movie, etc.).
- Originality
- Plot development

The 2016 version of the movie just does not compare in a lot of aspects compared to the original based on standard scoring metrics.
I'm not going to say you're wrong for thinking the new movie is more entertaining than the previous one - that's your opinion. I am going to say you're wrong if you try to claim that the majority of jokes were original and well executed.

The sad thing is that every time an issue comes up about Trump's egregious deficiencies and incompetence as President of the United States, someone has to turn it into a "well the original polls were wrong" discussion, which is entirely irrelevant. The elections are over, they have no bearing on the situation we're presently in, under an administration whose behavior is indefensible at nigh every turn of the way.

The first trailer was poorly received, a lot to do with the female cast, a lot to do with the CG style, a lot to do with it not being Ghostbusters 3. Cast fires back calling those who didn't like it sexist and basement dwelling nerds and then it really went south. And then they gave us the Fallout Boy song and by then the shit had made its final pass before going down the drain.

I still haven't seen it yet but it's on STARZ so I'll catch it eventually.

my favorite is that in response to all the negativity about the female cast and claims of SJW agenda, they released another trailer that had even MORE dumb female / SJW jokes in it, and those jokes didn't even make any sense.

what jokes didnt make sense?

The one that stands out in my mind from the "improved" trailer is when they're jumping off the stage at a concert venue and the audience catches one woman but not the second woman. And she asks "Is it because I'm a woman or because I'm black", but it's A) a crappy joke and B) nonsensical because they obviously just caught a woman so why would they care if she's a woman? Also I don't think most normal people in 2017 in America would watch a scene of someone jumping into a crowd and the crowd not catching that person and then automatically assume it was because of the character's gender. I mean the trailer was highly indicative of the fact that there basically was no writing to the movie, it was just "ok this is a loud character and this is a tough character and this is the prissy character who doesn't want to break her nails".

The cast and crew's reactions to the internet hate just further cemented this. Instead of releasing a competent trailer that showed some other aspects of the movie that people might not complain about, they basically just did what your generic run of the mill internet troll would do and just kept posting more of the same.

GE and PD are perfect just for the level of detail they have that most FPS games never achieved, and I'm talking about quantity and quality of lines in voice acting (even after playing PD for a couple years I was still hearing new enemy lines, or at least the same lines but in new voices). And I can't think of any other FPS game that demonstrates bullet hits on targets like those games do. Hit someone in the hand and they shake their hand/arm. Hit them in the ass and they hop a couple feet. It slows the gunplay down a little bit but it feels real.
