It's seriously a great show.

It has 3 GREAT characters - Tim, Al, and Wilson. Any show with 3 truly great characters is basically guaranteed to be a really good show

I loved all the various "Man's" rooms they designed for Tool Time. Bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, dorm, etc...

It does suffer from the "Husband is always wrong and messes up, wife can do no wrong" cliche, but so does 99% of every other show ever made, so.

my dad pretty much is Tim Taylor. He was a Makita salesman (many of the "Binford" tools were actually Makita) from 1990 to 1996 or thereabouts. My dad's name is Tom so many people call him Tom the Toolman.

He didn't have the misadventures with creations but did make tons of shit, made me a go-cart when I was 10 among other things.

So we watched tons of Home Improvement as a kid. Loved it as a kid. Caught a few eps on syndication years ago, not a fan now. It's certainly not bad for a 90s family sit com, probably one of the better ones, just don't feel like I'm in that target demo anymore.

Also I was reading the history of that show, I guess Tim Allen and one of the kids had a massive falling out because the kid wanted to pursue his schooling instead of staying on the show and Tim Allen was pissed off that it would screw up the dynamic.

Those were always my favorite episodes. Bedroom was amazing.

It was a great show, I watched the hell out of it.

One of his quotes as a salesman was "Torque is truth." Like when he was flipping contractors that have always been Dewalt before he would have them use the impact driver back when they were brand new and say "Brother, torque is truth."
