GTA Vice City was set in 1986 and released in 2002. A 16 year gap. The time between GTAIV and today is also 16 years.

So she was in a kids movie that had young girls as a demographic. Reviews were mixed but she said she didn't care because most critics are white men and they aren't the demographic for the movie.

Nerds got angry over this. Even though they never watched it as they weren't the demographic. Some then proceeded to try and spin it into being a comment made about Captain Marvel.

It is tribalism yes.

I think giving up on a hybrid system that has sold them 140+ million to stop potential emulation on PC and Android done by a handful of people would be a pretty stupid move.

Including sequels, remakes or reboots.

It's easy to be creative.

The problem is making a creative movie that people will pay to see.

Already this trailer has way more attention than it otherwise would because it's a remake of a cult classic.

Tbh I don't think people even know The Crow is an adaptation or has sequels or anything. They just know the movie. So yeah that's what Hollywood is gonna remake.

But the biggest thing is moreso that they haven't taken your money from your account. A bank isn't going to immediately reimburse you cash but on a credit card they can place the transaction on hold, adjust credit limits/interest etc.

There's a poster here who said he'd rather host Gal Gadot (a supporter of Israel and their genocide) for dinner over Swift because "she's a misandrist" based off the music she makes. People interpret her music in plenty of ways, because she is a woman who has relationships that frequently don't work out she writes about that and it resonates with other women who have relationships that have not worked out.

If people keep talking and talking about a product flopping online it has a better chance of succeeding than the stuff that's barely talked about at all.

PSVR2 definitely feels more like the latter.

Like I know they've seen success more than anyone else ever has and they're still incredibly lucky.

But there is a bit of pity seeing someone suddenly be hit with the harsh reality that they're just not popular anymore.

I remember Katy Perry being hit with this about a decade ago too. Nowdays she judges American Idol and sings Menulog commercials. Hell I think even she would still do better than this.

I feel like we are on the verge of nearly all entertainment folks collapsing because more and more pepole hardly have any money for most stuff these days....

Maybe it's similar to movies and video games. People will pay a premium to watch Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo and the nostalgia acts like Blink-182 or whatever but the mid-tier stuff is tough?

Or maybe this issue is specific to J-Lo. Like how many songs does she even have that are hits? What was her last one? Does she have a fanbase who actually care about her music or is she just a celebrity who is famous nowadays?

The Lion King's difficulty mostly comes with trial and error. Which meant it was tough back in the day of limited lives.

I remember playing through it with save states and dying a lot and then doing it again the old school way and beat it immediately because I learned everything that was coming and knew how to deal with it.

The PS4 to pro upgrade was way more necessary in my opinion. The PS5 is quiet, and does not struggle to run anything that ive played.

It doesn't need to be many people for it to be worth it.

If it gets 10-20 million people buying another PS5 and stay subscribed to PS+ it has done its job.

It remains to be seen how they will market and position it.

EA have absolutely nothing to do with this release. They didn't publish the originals or these ports.

If Dead Space and Mass Effect are any indication this would be better from EA.

I don't think any developers feel mislead or tricked about the consultancy they were provided.

It's just a small minority of gamers being angry about it. The same exact types who've been angry about woke media for several years and always looking for a target to harass.

Guys that's how work...works.

Knowing and pitching yourself to the right people is pretty basic when it comes to working under capitalism. Even a degree is really a formal way to pitch yourself over actually proving you are the best person to do a specific job.

A lot of video game writers are left wing and want to be praised for their stories and writing. They work for studios that likely don't really have that much diversity. A company like Sweet Baby goes around and offers a solution to that problem. You want to write a game with minorities ? That's out expertise. That's about it.

The irony of saying this is unfair is it ignoring that stuff like this is specifically the sort of disadvantage that minorities have historically by being treated and viewed as an other.

The grifters and reactionaries either know that or are purposefully ignorant to it. Again this is about culture wars and blaming and targeting minorities for whatever failures in their life they are experiencing.

I was curious about how the studio in question is doing these days and according to LinkedIn they've only got 8 employees at the moment.

Like I don't even really know if this is a studio that's big enough to even really do interviews or if it's just a bunch of connected industry people who opened up a studio and make games together.

They haven't released anything other than ValiDate either.

This is probably their line of thinking, but they could still make a new film with a new story (based on one of the other comics/novels or something unique) to reboot the franchise. There's no need to try and retell the original film's story.

But if we're being honest that's all The Crow is to most people. If they don't deliver a goth vigilante movie it would probably disappoint and anger people lol.

At least it's not as bad as trying to reboot Total Recall and RoboCop into PG movies. Not that I expect this to be good either.
