Xmen likes to do multiple teams now. The comics are starting a new arc this summer with 3 teams (each team has its own comic book) cyclops has a team, Wolverine has a team and I think the third team is led by Gambit and Rogue

Comic are their own thing. I'm more referring to the movies and video games over the years.

Cyclops was up there as a mainstay back in the 90s with the cartoon and video games. Anything X-Men had Cyclops. I think that has gradually scaled back in the last 20 years due to the movies focusing on nearly every major character other than Cyclops lol. When it comes to the mainstream I think he'd be like Juggernaut tier now

Remember how it was Cyclops shaking Ryu's hand in X-Men vs Street Fighter? Like yeah Wolverine was more popular but Cyclops was right up there in importance. He was like the Leonardo of the X-Men.

The movies really did a number on how big of a deal he was I think. If the team is fine without the boy scout leader what's left for Cyclops? It wasn't just Wolverine but Xavier, Magneto, Jean and Mystique all got more stories and plot too.

The most hilarious thing about these weirdos is that they are in such utter denial that the creatives behind these western games are mostly left leaning anyway. They try to paint these dumb ass conspiracy theories that developers are forced into it to get funding and not that it's something the developers want to do.

Tbh kinda feels like the outrage machine for this is already dying down . They can't really even articulate what they're supposed to be mad at.

The content just isn't there. They've scoured the internet and found a couple of quotes. Now what?

GDC is on now and the only 'gamer rage' bait I have seen is a quote from a Starfield developer.

It's like they need to have a constantly vocal person to constantly target and they haven't really found one.

They might dig this up again whenever they find a new AAA game that uses Sweet Baby...but then what? What if people like the game and don't care?

Seems like overall the most effective way to deal with these morons is to just let them get angry in their bubble until they find something new to get angry at. There's a new Star Wars trailer. Maybe that'll get them content.

I always get suspicious when a tweet sources Variety but doesn't link anything. Sure enough it's more grey than that.

This article was from 10 hours ago. I can't find anything else.

https://variety.com/2024/film/news/aaron-taylor-johnson-james-bond-superhero-movies-challenging-1235947114/

Another potential franchise on the horizon for Taylor-Johnson is James Bond. Hes long been considered a favorite to take over the role from Daniel Craig, with The Sun reporting on March 18 that he was officially offered the role and will sign a contract imminently. Sources close to Taylor-Johnson downplayed the report and said he has not been cast as Bond, but technically anything is possible in the future.

There's also Vanity Fair. I'll just post the screen cap since the article is pay walled.

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/5/56404473.jpg

Kinda seems like him being offered the role isn't true but they're not ruling out that he will.

The thing that is really sad is that doing this for any period of time is cruel. Babies and toddlers are really clingy and want to feel safe being near a parent or adult. They are still incredibly social and want to soak up all of that human behaviour around them like a sponge. They constantly want stimulation. Food too for their rapidly growing bodies.

Who knows how long it took for this poor baby to die. But it also makes me think of all of those mistreated babies and toddlers who have to go through this regularly but aren't left alone long enough to starve. I doubt this was the first time this girl went through it either.

There's just this extra element of these stories hitting hard when you have kids of your own or see a baby grow up over this stage. They're just these innocent and sweet little things who want to be taken care of. It's not fair that so many don't get a chance to even have that. She fought hard for her life but it just wasn't a fair fight.

Apparently James Bond is in his mid-thirties.

His debut book was 1953. So if he was 35 he'd be born in 1918. So he'd be 106.

Of course movie wise the comparison would be Sean Connery. Who would be turning 94 this year if he was still alive.

One thing that's a little bit interesting is that it seems like characters from around the 1930s onwards tend to be timeless instead of being seen as a period piece. Like yeah there are modern adaptations of Sherlock Holmes and Tarzan but I think most people would still think of that original incarnation. I'm guessing the rules around public domain, American copyright and how corporations began to protect and hold into their brands influence this more than anything.

Resident evil characters actually do age in real time.

Sadly I sometimes wonder if the real time aging thing is a possible reason capcom does not use jill nowhere near as much as they do chris when it comes to showing up in the actual main resident evil games alot. How some of these japanese companies have a reluctance to use older female characters outside of some sort of power/method that keeps them young looking like with soul calibur's ivy.

Speaking of which, it actually was known that bandai-namco did not want to use the classic female characters for the time-skip game soul calibur 5 outside of said super power eternal youth female characters like ivy and tira (age unknown in soul calibur 5, lol). Just gave them all successors, =/, and so they went through the effort of making a brand-new timeline with part 6 just to get the classic characters back to being young and for taki and sophitia to return, lol.

I've wondered that as well.

If they didn't keep re-using Chris so much it wouldn't be as weird lol

If Bruce Wayne was 25 for his debut as Batman he'd be turning 110 this year. So safe to say he'd be dead. Clark Kent would be around the same but who knows how he'd age.

Peter Parker could potentially still be around at 77 years old. Although surely he'd be retired as Spider-man.

Homer and Marge Simpson would be 68 now. Bart would be 44, Lisa would be 42 and Maggie would be in her mid thirties. They could potentially have a huge family reunion at this point.

Even Bluey would currently be 11 years old. Peppa Pig would be in her mid-twenties.

What other examples are there?

Kinda funny to think about how a few of these characters have actually needed to change to stay modern. The really old ones were created under very different times.

The genius of Bluey is that its a kid show set in a world that functions normally.

It's a little thing but it's still overall pretty unique around that age group. Like Bluey and Bingo live in a normal world that doesn't actually revolve around them. What they have are parents who love them, play with them and make the effort to make their world magical and fun while also trying to teach them to be better. Sometimes it's the parents themselves that learn something with their own attitudes and moods too.

It doesn't sound like much but it's seriously unique compared to the other shows. Shows like Peppa Pig and Paw Patrol that has the entire world revolve around those characters. The world itself is teaching them things and everyone else is there to help them and the audience get there.

That's why it resonates with parents so much too. The overall theme of the show is that childhood is magical for parents as well as the children. Enjoy it and make the most of it.
