Ive never made a friend at a bar, but I do recall very clearly a man who kept buying me two drinks at a time just for saving his seat at the bar. Once I was incredibly drunk the stranger offered me a ride home and my big burly coworker (we were both ranch hands) stepped in and carried me like a baby to the vehicle all of us took to said bar. He made sure I got to bed safely and I will be forever grateful for his intervention. --- He's all alone through the day and night.
