My pot isn't huge and the noodles stick out halfway and then parts of the noodles are under done if I use the time on the box. If I go over that time then parts of the noodles are over done

Boil them in a wide, low pan. If you must, you can always soften them first, then add it to your normal pot or saucepan whole.

I own exactly one pan. It us neither wide nor low. How would you soften them? Soak them in cold water for a bit?

my mrs did the whole "omg breaking the spaghett is an absolute sin!" the first time I cooked it around her so I filled a frying pan with water and that's a fuckin' no go too apparently. its fucking spaghetti I'm not italian and she ain't either. the dish isn't sacred to me. Years later I just break it idc.

i think you're just meant to let it stick out and half cook until the rest submerges to fit your pot? which seems dumber than both of my options

Easy. Once your water's boiling, empty the spaghetti into the pot, getting as much of it underwater as you can. Then, after about 20 seconds, gently push the spaghetti down. It should be soft enough to submerge without snapping.

Salt The water, drop the noodles when it boils, stir frequently. Taste a noodle every so often to get the consistency you want.

Hit up a thrift store, that's where I've gotten almost all of my cookware. Most of my silverware, dishes, and cups for that matter too.

Bigger pot. You need a bigger pot than you think for spaghetti. If you're breaking it, you're using a saucepan, which is nah.

If you have something inbetween where only an inch or two sticks out just submerge them and swirl-bend them in slowly over the course of a minute. While the noodle inside the water softens, you can spin the whole thing in via coaxing.

Breaking them is a sin to Italian people. There's lots of great shorts about it.

One video I saw they took the noodles put them in the pot let the rest up against the side sticking out of the pot, then did a little neat twirl to distribute the noodles around the entire perimeter of the pot and as the water heats up and they soften enough they fall into the pot.

Wait til the water is at a rolling boil to add the noodles. Then fan the noodles around the rim of the pot evenly.

i go with whatever noodles they give me in the food hampers. this time it was spaghetti.

didn't even give me sauce for it, so i just stirred in some salt and pepper and that was dinner.

add the noodles so they're sticking out of the pan, then wait a bit and push them down. it takes less than a minute for the submerged part to be soft enough to not break when you push

might as well just break it in half then. The rule against that is just an arbitrary thing
