I don't normally grind my characters levels to the max in most RPGs, even if I really enjoy them. There are some exceptions.

I've done it in a few Final Fantasy games. I know for sure in VII and VIII. I did it in Xenoblade X, but the max level in that IS only 60...

I wonder if I should count Pokemon. Of course I level a ton of Pokemon to max level for competitive purposes. Then again, I didn't do PvP in Blue, and still leveled some Pokemon to max in that just because I enjoyed the game so much.

In games where the max level is 100, just FFVIII, but reaching level 100 is fairly easy.

Thinking about it i think FF8 is the only one for me as well.

TWEWY and a couple of Pokemon games might be the only ones? I feel like I'm forgetting one though.

Off the top of my head:

A few Pokemon games, GSC and SV for sure
Persona 5 Royal
Final Fantasy VII (I think there was a trophy for it)
Dragon Quest XI (I had to grind to beat the final boss because I was fighting it wrong)

Final Fantasy X doesn't have levels but I maxed everyone's Sphere Grid

I did the 1-99 grind in both Devil Survivor games to fight their superbosses. First one absolutely needed it. Second one, ehhh, maybe not all the way.

Also maxed out in SMTV Vengeance for Godborn difficulty, though NG+ carryover and the changes made to the difficulty made that not much of a grind.

I also did it in Persona 5 Royal for... Some reason. I forget exactly why. I think it was mostly incidental while stamp collecting, and then I decided to finish it out? Maybe? I certainly didn't need it.

I maxed out several pokemon in Red/Blue by exploiting Missingno, but I've never taken anything to 100 naturally in any of those games that I can recall.

I *might* have maxed out some characters in DQ11, but I don't think I did, and I'd have to go pull it up to check.

Considering how I play games and how many RPGs I play, this is probably close to a hundred. Maybe more.

I rarely do enough level grinding, but believe I did finish it in:

Super Mario RPG
Final Fantasy 8
Chrono Cross (though merely completing new game plus once is enough to reach it in that game)

Also, my friend got max level in Phantasy Star 4, which is funny because there's actually a well known bug that happens if you reach max level there.

I always had just 96 Stars at the end of a new game plus (48 each playthrough).

KH1 and Tales of Arise are the only ones I know of for sure.

I think literally none? There have been a few Ive come close but I get bored before attaining it. Maybe Mario RPG but wasn't max level 30 or something trivial to attain with normal play? Hardly counts.

Oh Final Fantasy 1 I've gotten my party to max level of 50 in challenge runs before but it was usually (always?) one character not an entire party. And it wasn't really for completion but necessity.

Diablo II? I got a hardcore character to level 99 once to feel like I "beat" hardcore mode. Yeah. That'd be the main one that counts for the spirit of the question.

Do MMOs count? Or gachas?

I have no idea what the answer to this is overall because most games I've played have a level cap that is stupidly high. I grinded in Secret of Mana for ages trying to get weapon orbs and still only got to level 70 or so. (Cap is 99, you can beat the game comfortably at 40.) So the only games I can honestly say I've capped are the ones where capping seems built into the game, like old D&D-based games that max out at 20.

I'm playing this RPG called Eve of Calamity in bed before I go to sleep every night, and I've maxed out quite a few classes.

In terms of full length games, I think maybe the D&D Infinity Engine games and FFVIII and FFX?

I've definitely leveled lots of units to 20/20 in plenty of Fire Emblem games. I can't recall any other games for sure. I know i tried with at least 1 other game but I can't recall what it was.

Yeah Fire Emblem feels wrong too for Mario RPG reasons (pretty easy to hit max level without grinding) but I guess that's an answer also

Atelier Ryza 2 and 3 I've hit max level.

(2 was in post game, but 3 is super easy to max your level since enemies scale with you)

Edit: yeah, Chrono Cross too if 99 stars counts. (had to do the beginning 3 times to get all three choices)

I'm guessing DnD games like Baldur's Gate aren't really in the spirit of this topic. I maxed out in the first two KH games, but that's probably it

I did reach max level in multiple mmos. There was a time in my life when I did a lot of other grinding in them.

But, somehow, I've never grinded to max level in any single-player RPG. I hated grinding as a kid, lol.

I'm sure some games have you hit max naturally through the story (without grinding), like Banner Saga or maybe the South Park ones, but I feel like those don't count

I've reached max level in FFVII & FFVIII, Skies of Arcadia, Dark Souls 2[Level 838], Disgaea 1 & 2, Star Ocean 3, along with several others I'm simply not remembering at this time.
