My god, poor Thor! Anyways I'll vote Eternals, but I have not seen Ant-Man, Hulk, or The Dark World.

Love and Thunder with a bullet. I was actively angry at it for being so shit.

It's also the only MCU movie I'd call actively bad. I've rewatched Thor 2 on tv a couple of times and it's more bland than terrible.

Eternals had a lot going for it imo, but I saw someone here say it would have been better as a D+ series and I agree.

Eternals is good, actually.

The answer is Quantumania. It took out the unique lighthearted fun of the Ant-Man movies and replaced it with a generic slog. Also it is extremely visual effects heavy but the CGI is simply not up to that.

Like 80% of the shows are terrible, but the worst Disney movie is Captain Marvel and its awkward that you chose not to make it an option. Iron Man 3 is the next worst, with its Mandarin tease plot. Then Darkworld. Then Black Widow (which should also be an option).

I'm actually gonna give LMS a pass on this, he just took the bottom movies by RT score and funnily enough, IM3/Captain Marvel/Black Widow are the next three.

Yeah the poll options are fine. There are 34 of these movies now, somebodys least favourite wasnt going to make the cut. I dont look at any of these in terms of general reception and think well Captain Marvel should definitely be on here over that film although I personally prefer Eternals and Thor 1 over it.

It's Quantummania. Terrible script and a character assassination for both Ant-man and Kang. Humor doesn't land and it also fails as an action film.

MoM should be replaced with Black Widow on the poll. That was such an obvious editorial hackjob. Started out as one movie and was focus-grouped into a complete different (worse) one by the end. You can see the exact moment where they decided to pivot into generic superhero garbage.

IM3 is a great movie. I hated it the first time I saw it too, but years later I watched it again with an open mind and it became one of my favorites. Also has the best heroic scene in all the MCU (Tony saving everyone from the plane crash).

And Eternals is good. Definitely could have been better as a show but with how those have been handled I'm not so sure.

My answer is Black Widow.

I never found Eternals actively bad, but I would say I found it needless slog I have almost no memory of. which could even be argued as "worse" than bad. Like I remember the names of 3 characters and the faces of a couple more and that's it. The movie never comes up in regular conversation because as far as MCU movies go, it's a top contender for "Movies that are completely irrelevant", and no one actually cares it existed. I know they set up the possibility of an Eternals 2.. But like yeah I'm not interested in it at all at face value because I'm not interested in the Eternals after the one standalone movie.

Black Widow is not a bad answer at all TBH. It had its moments, but felt like it would have come off an assembly line were it not for the lead actors' performances. I'd say actresses, but David Harbour was one of the highlights too and I thought he was better there than he ever was in Stranger Things. Plus you get to admire his body in addition to the Widows!

Literally twice in the span of the year he gets broken out of a Russian prison by a Jewish actress.

My ranking of these:

Thor >= Age of Ultron (bigly drop off here) > Thor: Love and Thunder > Hulk > Multiverse of Madness > Eternals > Thor: The Dark World

Haven't seen Quantumania at all and I haven't seen Iron Man 2 since around when it came out, but I'm pretty positive it would be very low. Probably between Multiverse of Madness and Eternals.

Eternals isn't in the conversation due to cinematography. Quantumania has visuals as well.
Love and Thunder isn't great, but it has the benefit of a great villain (though underutilized).
Dark World is kind of like Eternals with better visuals, less cinematography, but probably the best performance of a villain in the MCU
Hulk is a solid film
Multiverse of Madness is good
Thor is solid. Like MoM, some great directing.

The only argument I can accept for IM is liking Justin Hammer (and I don't). The only argument I can accept for Age of Ultron is liking consuming fecal matter (and I don't).

I saw Age of Ultron with my parents when it came out and didn't like it at all. MAYBE it didn't help that I hadn't seen the first Avengers though, and my only brushes with the MCU up to that point were Iron Man 3 and Guardians of the Galaxy. But I'm a weirdo who likes the first Captain America movie more than any of the Avengers movies.

Yes. It is literally every single thing people meme about the MCU being.

Absolutely atrocious movie that is barely funny with a stupid plot and emotional beats that feel frankly out of place given the rest of the film. Complete waste of Gorr the God Butcher.

Just a horrific movie.

Quantumania may be the worst put together movie because it was torn apart and put back together constantly, but at least it's entertaining at parts.

I won't blame anyone for saying Ultron is the worst though because that movie is so rough to sit through after a first viewing.

Iron Man 3 is also a disastrous movie that has very little redeeming qualities and is just uninteresting for the most part

I feel like people who say this need to watch Dark World again. It's a fine but kinda bland movie, but it at least feels like a film that was ambitious. It at least has heart and passion to it unlike Love and Thunder, and focused on the Loki/Thor dynamic which makes it far more interesting than anything in Love and Thunder.

I think Thor 4 actually borders on good. The black and white fight scene is actually one of my favorite fights across all the films. It has some good stretches. It also has a bunch of humor that just doesn't land, a lot of which can be chocked up to Taika being given free reign while being stretched too thin and not caring about this as much as some of his other projects.

This. I also felt about 30% of the film's humor landed for me. At least it didn't feel like the actors were trying too hard to be funny. The movie itself did, but they weren't constantly mugging for the camera. I'll also admit I dug the visuals bigtime though. Also I was barely aware of the screaming goats meme so I actually did find it funnier the more it went along. Helped that they were meant to annoy Thor, not that it excuses it completely. At least most of the discourse surrounding it isn't GRRR WHY IS JANE ANOTHER THOR or something idiotic like that.

I feel like the MCU as a whole is going to be fine since it feels like Loki S2 and The Marvels will resonate more with general audiences than Quantumania and even Guardians, though I'm mostly saying that because I think the respective predecessors of the former two are more within recent memory. I like that my two favorite MCU movies of all time were released this decade and yet I'm still getting more and more disillusioned with it though.

Love and Thunder is alright. Better than The Dark World I would say. Overall it wasnt good exactly but yeah borders on good is roughly how I feel. There is a lot of imagination in some of the set pieces and I actually think the opening scene is one of the best in the entire franchise. The second half in general is pretty decent. The issue is it meanders for too long, obviously there were lots of cuts, and there are too many jokes with those that dont land crowding out those that worked.

Hot take all MCU movies are good in some ways and it's possible to enjoy them with the right mindset or set of personal tastes. It's possible to hate at least half of them though. It boils down to luck.

Like I enjoyed the hell of AoU when I first saw it but looking back to memory everything about it feels dumb af.

I loved MoM even though I agree it's stupid in a bunch of ways but the main stuff it did clicked to me.

Now Shang-Chi bored me for at least half the run. But I saw it alone on the coach and wasn't in a good mood that time. Maybe if it was an amazing movie I would have loved it, but it was a mid tier movie so I didn't care much.

That isn't to say we should rewatch the films to reevaluate them cuz who the hell has time for that but lately I'm feeling more detatched to ranking films like this.

My super brief version of why it's bad is it overkills the quippiness to an absurd level and makes it hard to care about anything.

Like people say Loki is not imposing in Avengers 1 (I disagree and think that's hindsight bias seeing where his character went) but at least he's taking the movie seriously. Ultron is not. He's just bantering with the heroes who are also not taking the movie seriously as they banter back. So I as the viewer do not take it seriously.
