If someone was curling in the squat rack, would you push them out of the way because they weren't using it properly even though there was an empty squat rack right next to you? Probably not, because regardless of the squat rack being used improperly you wouldn't instigate a fight when you could just move over and avoid the situation entirely.

Hmm, I haven't really been following the story at all, but someone said earlier that they were fighting over this one because it was an ebike whereas the other available ones were regular bikes. Is that something that's been confirmed, or just random CE misinformation? Because I do know that ebikes are way easier to pedal. Never been pregnant, but tbf I imagine in that scenario the ebike would be a much more attractive option.

Which is what she ended up doing anyway here. She never got the bike from them yet had shown a receipt for using another bike to get home. So why didn't she do this in the first place and had no interaction with them?

There is zero proof that the guys were actually holding the bike because Comrie claims nobody was by the bikes and they walked up on her. There's no way to prove who is right and who is lying. So people now immediately believing that he was holding the handle have nothing to back it up.

Also, Journalista is not really a reliable source since she's been melting down about this since it started and was the one who doxxed Comrie and her husband and contacted her employer. She was also calling the lawyer's receipts fake and photoshopped and now she's doing the interview. No other reputable media is even covering this or could get them for an interview.

Even the mother keeps saying it's not fair Comrie is getting money and they're poor and can't afford a lawyer. Lawyer for what? This thing had actually blown over the past few days and then they just reignited it, while saying the heat is too much for them. They're still anonymous and nobody is suing them or trying to file any charges.

The GoFundMe, started by Journalista, says the money will be used for the family's legal defense against Comrie, but Comrie's lawyer already said they're not going after the kid. There is NO legal defense. All of that seems very grifty and manipulative. Especially since Journalista would be facing the lawsuit for defamation.

Anyway, objectively, he had given up the bike at 7:19 PM and she took it at 7:24 PM. At 7:25 PM they forcefully docked her bike and then he took it for himself. That's the factual things we know.

The guy was hogging the bike without paying. Either pay for it or risk it being taken by someone else, especially with how much demand there is. That's kind of given when you're trying to game a system. You're not entitled to the bike indefinitely. Especially if you're not actively sitting on it. Getting heated over that to the point of strong-arming a pregnant woman is extremely dumb.

He said he and his friends do this everyday. So 5 dudes take out and keep them indefinitely as if it's theirs.

Also, it's weird that people are saying the guy doesn't have to show courtesy to a pregnant woman, but this woman has to show him courtesy because he called dibs. It wouldn't be any more her problem, then hers would be his.

I'll say if it happened exactly as told in this side of the story she is the asshole for her reaction. I don't think you should be able to hold a common commodity you're not using, but regardless just bursting through and trying to "ninja" the bike as described previously is a choice you make. Technically you're "in the right" because it is now indeed your bike. But acting like you're being attacked because someone didn't immediately acquiesce to your weird manoeuvre is beyond ridiculous.

The behavior described just sounds absurd to me to the point that I find it difficult to believe, especially as the source is the side that stands to benefit from it being true. But yes, if it is true, if it happened exactly as described, she's the baddie.

Your explanation would be more like a person brings in a library book for checking out, but is still holding it because they need to actually need it to check out, so you walk over claiming you need it and check out the book with the scanner even though there are multiple copies of the book, and you could easily get it but you want THAT book because it's the most recently acquired of the same copy of the book. And then when the person gets upset you scream out that the person is trying to steal your book.

Whether her story is true or theirs, she's an asshole. Her behavior there reeks of self entitlement and she still out those kids potentially in danger by doing that. There is no reason she needed to act that way. None. She's not a five year old.

I would say they really didn't do much wrong. Citi bike sounds like it had stupid rules and they did something to get around it. And the lady was hyper aggressive about that specific bike for no reason and then threw a tantrum when she didn't get it. Note, even if she was "right" you wouldn't bother fighting for it because there were... More bikes than just that one.

She had a dude holding her back from leaving on the bike and she called out for help. She wasnt screaming rape. We have two attendants that route through our city probably hourly. It's not wild to be shouting out for help from one of those guys as opposed to handling it yourself at 6 months pregnant.

Doesn't the footage explicitly show her doing what you're accusing him of? She was caught on video hiding her work ID right before stealing his phone to prevent him from renting the bike.
