The best comparison I've seen is someone has the only limited edition flavour of your favourite cereal. They then put it back in it's place on the shelf. You go to grab it and they say that it's theirs and they're going to buy it in 40 minutes, even though they put it back on the shelf. The other comparisons I've seen kinda imply this is just a regular bike when it's not at all.

It's not. Your explanation would be more like a person brings in a library book for checking out, but is still holding it because they need to actually need it to check out, so you walk over claiming you need it and check out the book with the scanner even though there are multiple copies of the book, and you could easily get it but you want THAT book because it's the most recently acquired of the same copy of the book. And then when the person gets upset you scream out that the person is trying to steal your book.

Whether her story is true or theirs, she's an asshole. Her behavior there reeks of self entitlement and she still out those kids potentially in danger by doing that. There is no reason she needed to act that way. None. She's not a five year old.
