Im not expecting counters to not be played, but the fact Cosmo and Armor are in almost every deck is probably an issue in itself? Not even saying Id want them altered, but the two of them can shut down some decks and theyre pretty much never wasted by being in decks either.

Also Im still seeing people complain about Shuri decks constantly so the latest nerfs didnt really help it seems. Shes probably gonna need to be restricted to doubling the power of a card played in the same lane before people feel satisfied?

Oh speaking of Armor Armor popped up two times in those two games too

I've seen Valkyrie 3 times in the last 5 games when I started using this Nimrod/Knull/Destroyer deck I threw together

That is more than I've seen her in the entire life of the game combined.

Due to the changes to Aero and Taskmaster, Shuri decks aren't hiding Red Skull behind Cosmo as much anymore (they can play around Aero and need to Armor the Red Skull so Taskmaster can copy it), so Valkyrie becomes a viable option to counter it again.

Keep in mind I played many other games today with a Cerebro 2 deck (which Valkyrie also counters so if they had it they'd have dropped it) and my old Omega Red deck.

There is definitely something weird with the specific cards you face imo.

The developers have repeatedly said they don't do anything like that, and I don't really see any benefit for them from lying about that

Valkyrie was nearly unplayable with Aero in 99% of decks, and now with Shuri probably being the best deck she's needed now more than ever. Armor is straight up one of the best cards in the game so I would never be surprised to see it

There's also Shang and Enchantress, which makes 4 core tech cards that "are in every deck". But if you're using 4 slots for defense then your deck will likely be slow and sensitive to draw order. They might win against you easily, but they won't win overall.

So your deck needs to be strong enough to survive a tech card or two. Or at least keep them on the ropes so they don't snap, and you can retreat for 1 if necessary.

I mean if those cards are really in every deck, run Destroyer. Let them play those 2 cards and give you the win. There's other less drastic cards that benefit from Cosmo too like Sword Master, Maximus, Doc Ock.

Any 2/3 card is viable slot for stats alone, and Armor's power is incredibly useful. Why wouldn't she be that common?

I think a lot of players would be annoyed by the idea that decks were specifically being matched

I'm not even saying this is a "I'm getting played into counters" situation as much as its probably happening both ways.

Like Chang was saying he's seeing a lot of Galactus decks when running Prof X. Turns out I do too when I run Prof X. In this case it's the Galactus player being being hosed not us but yeah either way.

Because she's not through pure observation. I honestly don't really see it that often. Like often but not "40% of games" often

Probably because the decks I run don't have colorful interactions with it.

Just from personal experience I see significantly less Shang-Chi and Enchantress while Cosmo and Armor are about every other match level. I dunno how to best phrase it, but to me Armor and Cosmo work too well together against some decks and because youre guaranteed to not take 700 years getting them you can shut down some decks a lot easier than say Mystique copying Enchantress to cripple 2 Ongoing lanes or something?

Like its not the only combo possibility obviously, but the fact 2 cards completely cripple an entire deck from even using its abilities is kinda sad. You can make so many people using Destroy decks leave by playing those two cards alone since their decks never have a response to it lol

I can believe that very easily. Shutting down On-Reveals is very useful and I feel like On-Reveal cards in general are more common to run into? Armor protects your big power stuff provided it isnt countered and is also useful against certain locations too while also being good at stopping Destroy antics as well. Armor is very useful.

Haven't seen any Valkyries since swapping decks. To be fair they arent as strong against other ones I have so maybe they're there and just being held. I'll keep you updated.

I run Prof X and have seen 1 Galactus in like the last 10 days or so. I also have only ever seen 1 Valkyrie played against me period but my deck doesn't encourage Valk to get thrown down. If a situation occurs where Valk is auto-win for them, I absolutely wouldn't see it coming

Sometimes the matchmaking does seem suspicious with what you play against. Like especially when you change something up and then immediately run into something you haven't seen for a while.

Well the game is now forcing me to update. So all holding out on the update did was lose me 200-800 tokens and not get any extra P3 cards.

I am so pissed about that shop change because I barely care about the P4 cards but I definitely want a lot of P3 cards. I'm CL994 so I'm missing a ton. So now my option is basically to be fucked for ages getting 1 P3 a month that I want and relying on 12 random ones instead of being able to grab multiple. All the whole constantly matching up against decks who have everything at their disposal. The token shop update is absolute balls for anyone who wants P3 cards

Not really, if youre playing the game you should be getting them pretty regularly at that CL

I havent really used him yet, but I love this Ultron variant I just got

Yeah, I got to pick whatever I wanted from the token store.

And from my understanding once I hit Collectors Reserves (which is my very next box) then they are split into pools of 4 with 1 card guaranteed in each pool. So basically 1 card every 48 CL on average. That works out at about 12 or so cards a month? 13 if you include the freebie. And I'm still missing 57 P3 cards.

before the token shop change, if you're not series 3 complete you generally got about 1000 collectors tokens a month, enough for one series 3 card, so the rate of getting series 3 cards is basically unchanged. This change arguably makes bundles less attractive to purchase for a player like you though

I mean I knew I'd have to update eventually but I was under the impression I'd get a week to fish through the old token store from what people had said about previous updates. They gave like what? 2 days?

I just don't see why they couldn't have left in the option to buy P3 cards too. If they were worried about getting them too fast because of increased token acquisition then just raise their price to 1500 or something. Most of the critical cards are in P3 rather than P4/5 so this just screws over people with lower CLs. It would be less of a problem if their matchmaking wasn't so bad but this just ensure that you're going to have a bad experience for months and months after breaking into P3 because it won't stop you from matching up against people with vastly more resources than you.

For your specific situation, where you were sitting on 3000 tokens to spend in 1000 increments for S3 cards, you're only missing out on two potential Series 3 cards this month.

But the refresh for another free Series 3 card is barely 10 days away, and you'll get another free one then, so really you're just missing out on one card.

In the meantime, you have waaaaaayyy more time to collect extra tokens, because of the boost when you don't have all of the Series 3 cards, by the time you DO complete Series 3 you're going to have like a zillion tokens and can buy whatever you want.

So absorbing man played before any on reveals being hit with an Odin will cause him to copy the on reveal you played before Odin, not Odin himself. That is a lesson the cost me 4 cubes.

I played Absorbing Man, then White Tiger, then Black Panther, then Odin, all in the same location and when I played Odin Absorbing Man copied Black Panther instead of Odin.

Yeah, same thing happens if Jubilee pulls Absorbing Man/Mystique/Taskmaster, they check the card before Jubilee. It seems that a card is not counted as "played" until all the effects of its On Reveal resolve (which includes other cards summoned or activated)

I've also seen a Shanna summon Iron Fist which then punched the Shanna over after all the summoned cards did their stuff, because Shanna then became the next card played

Which was explicitly the goal, because it means you're more invested in the new 4 & 5 cards coming out. 3 is old hat, they don't make money off those anymore.

And now with token tuesday, you can get about double the typical tokens by converting gold to tokens at about 1:1. I'm CL 2000 and got over 3000 tokens in the last month due to token tuesday.

This was so satisfying. I wanted to snap but I didn't want him to retreat before I could play it out.

On turn 7 I dropped 2x She-Hulk, 2x Death and 1x Devil Dino. I actually should have dropped America Chavez but I didn't math it out that she would be better than DD after all that dropping because it was so I grained to me of full hand drop DD

I cant remember if two Avengers Compounds means you can play to both of them, or only the rightmost one since locations act from left to right (with the exception of starlight citadel which always acts first before Hala or Asgard for some reason)

Oh I have a really awesome Storm Ultimate Variant in my store which is tempting now they took away P3 but I looked it up to see if it comes with the avatar too and apparently it's really common as it was a giveaway in December. Booo.

Probably for the best, I should be using the tokens on usable cards anyway

Oh, this deck may just be good. Which I guess makes sense since it's just a modified Deathwave deck. Went 4-1 with it this morning. Sadly only for +2 cubes as I lost a 4 cuber by 1 power when debating whether to retreat. I think once I learn snap/retreat patterns it's very climbable since I'm +14 cubes since last night.

I did swap out Collector for Sentinel as Collector felt fairly low impact but I should probably add in something that lets me reach unplayable destinations

Hit 90/95 this morning playing my junk deck all season. I'm happy my "annoy other players" goal is lining up perfectly with actually advancing.

The main problem with this deck is, there have been a lot of games where I win on turn 5. As in, I have successfully clogged up every space on my opponent's board and they have no ability to even try.

That was the issue with my control deck too. The win percentage wasn't bad but the cube rate was because people would bail once their ability to play had been restricted by Goose / Storm / Prof X or had Enchantress / Shang Chi ruin their plan. I had to start waiting to late turns to do sneaky shit to get more cubes which led to more cubes but a negative win rate as tempo was atrocious and it lacked big plays.

Also people had started changing to decks that didn't care as much about stuff like Goose and Storm

I had the honor of unlocking Sentry a few reserves ago
