Hearing the characters on Dehya banner are Barbara, Bennett and Collei..at least I can use Collei Cs, but Candace wouldve been nice :(

I already tossed the wishes I would have used for Dehya at Yelan constellations. I still have some saved, but we're definitely in the "wait for a good character" zone.

I should probably ascend more of my weapons and stuff to have more characters to work with for Abyss and just to play around with. I dunno which ones are worth bothering with though. Guess I can at least swap Yelans Favonius Warbow for a Sacrificial Bow now.

I think Im F2P (besides Welkin) from here on out.

I've been full F2P for at least a year. (I was never buying crystals, though.)

Got Dehya, and it only cost me 27000 primogems :(

Those were basically all garbage other than the bottom 3. Got 313 Fates left so not too bad. Cost me 83 Fates for a Dehya.

so there's 20 free fates available in the adventurer's handbook now (one for each archon quest) and with those I ended up getting Dehya :)

it's too bad she isn't a great character but she will look very pretty in my teapot, hopefully they make a good teamcomp for her one day!

Dehyas banner is selling ok so far. Turns out people will pull if they love the design and personality and Dehyas the best of the Sumeru bunch in that regard imo

I was about to say it was still below the other Sumeru characters, and then I saw Alhaitham. WTH is with Alhaitham selling less than half of any other Sumeru banner?

Also, that's interesting because it's the Chinese market. I had the impression CN players were indifferent toward Dehya, and there would have been a drop in sales because of her poor performance as a result. If anything, I would have assumed it'd be the global players who would pull for Dehya.

Who knows. They ran him along with Xiao and Xinyan was on both banners. Dehya might be doing a little better because her weapon might never be featured again either along with her?

Oh, that's true. I forget those include weapon banners. The weapon banner is pretty strong right now.

The funniest instance of this is if you see the graph of sales per day and you look back at the old Keqing banner. It does poor for the first half and then there's an uptick at the halfway point because that was the one time they did 2 week banners -- but then they switched the weapon banner on the regular timer and Staff of Homa debuted in the middle.

Tighnari is good! His cons are good! Probably the best standard character. I'd love more cons for him, but then again I pulled when he was featured so I'm biased

continuing my streak of good luck recently, i pulled amos bow off the standard banner but i don't have any carry bow characters to use it :(

i'm using every bow character as a support right now (yelan, diona, fischl)

i guess it'll just sit unused until i pull a bow carry one day

My primary team has used Ganyu as a secondary DPS and burst support for Hu Tao. So I still use her very actively. I have enough characters at this point that I don't just run with that team for everything, but I feel like I need to for the Scaramouche fight or somebody's getting one-shot.

Stupid question, related: When Scara goes "goodbye cruel world" and those objects appear in the middle you have to clear to get the shot to stun him, how do you hit the floating ones with other teams? Ganyu clears them easily but when I bring other characters, I can't bring them down, and just resort to picking a character to die.

I bring Yoimiya for that. With her skill she destroys them all in a single shot for me at least. I havent used a different team for that fight so Im not sure what other ways clear them fast

I imagine any skill that reaches them would work, as would archers and certain catalyst users. I've been using Diona recently, but have also used Venti, Faruzan, or Aloy

This Windblume event was so good. Collei is adorable

Other archers don't work for me. Basic hits seem to do nothing, so you need elemental hits (that aren't electro) and most archers take too long to charge up a basic elemental shot. I don't own Yoimiya, but I'm sure she'd do fine. I also tried catalyst users and regular attacks weren't hitting, but I didn't think to try charged attacks.

Hunting down all these lost Aranara finally. I really gotta start powering through Sumeru.

So I want to finally get in this but is that like a Genshin for dummies guide? That's like 15 different currencies and I don't know if I messed up or not and spent a bunch of stuff to get some shitty weapons.

I got Jean on my first pull of the Wanderlust Invocation, is that good?

At one point, I was going to make a beginner's guide. It never really got off the ground. I made 3 episodes that were for deciding if you should try the game, rather than talking about how to play it yet, and then I decided I'm utter shit at video editing and stopped.

Jean is a great pick-up early. I know some may argue, but I might go so far as to say she might be the best five-star character you could get when you're first starting out. The folks here will be more than happy to help you with anything you're confused about. Note that we also have a discord channel.

Regarding the gacha, here's a rundown of the currencies:

• Acquaint Fates and Intertwined Fates: Are the "wishes" or "pulls." They're the actual things you use to pull on the banners with. They look like sparkly orbs. While usually an intermediate currency, you can just get wishes from a few places like the battle pass.
• Primogems: Are used to purchase fates. You can either buy them in Paimon's shop or you can just let the game autopurchase them whenever you have enough. It costs 160 per wish, or if you can restrain yourself, 1600 per ten-pull. You get primogems, at least in small quantities, just for playing the game as well as 60 per day for doing your commissions. (Those unlock at, I think AR12?)
• Genesis crystals: Are basically just primogems you paid money for.
• Stardust and starglitter: Are used to purchase stuff in Paimon's shop. They each have their own tab. Save the stardust and only buy the five wishes of each type. MAYBE the mora. The rest of that stuff is easily obtained just from wandering the world. Starglitter is harder to come by. It also can be wasted on a bunch of meaningless crap, but you can buy an unlimited number of wishes with it or you can pick up a 4-star character or one of two weapon types. The weapons rotate per month. I wouldn't get the royal weapons, but the Blackcliff ones are okay if you need a weapon for someone.

Those are the only currencies that should matter for the gacha. Obviously there are a ton more like anemo sigils, experience books, weapon enhancement crystals, resin, and arguably anything you can do at a crafting table, so I'll just leave it at that for a first-time explanation.

As a general rule, when you are pulling on the banners, you want to pull exclusively on the limited-time banner. (The one that currently has Dehya on it, but don't pull on Dehya even if she's hot. She'll be hard for you to level.) The beginner banner with Noelle is perfectly fine, too, but disappears after 20 wishes. The standard banner (Mona, Qiqi, Keqing) is usually used exclusively for the acquaint fates you gain incidentally. Usually you want to save for intertwined for the character banner. Oh, and don't pull on the weapon banner. It's a scam.

If you feel you mismanaged your opening pulls, don't. They're a pittance of what you'll get over the long haul, even if it will take time and/or money to get more. Jean is a great place to start from. If you tell us who else you have, we can make some team suggestions, but the absolute honest truth is that you should pick the team that you like and play them. I wouldn't jump around too much. Mismanaging your exp books can be a much bigger headache. But fool with them all at level 1 while you can and then decide on what works. Jean is a healer, so you won't need to use Barbara or Noelle. Kaeya is the best of the freebies, by far. You might get stuck bringing Amber around for a bit just to have a bow and a pyro character for some of the puzzles. I would look to any four-star characters you might have also pulled to finish your team if you're looking for the most capable team. But if you decide you like Lisa because she's got big boobies, then use her, or you simply like having the Traveler around, hey, you do you. Even the most cursed team comps are viable. The most important part of this game is that you do what makes it fun for you.

Fungus Mechanicus aint bad, but I feel like its probably less fun overall than the fungus battles and theater Mechanicus were despite trying to combine the two. Also trial Mika seemed weak as hell. I know hes a support, but he was still unimpressive there at least
