Oh, about bounties, they end up removing the thing about having to track them for Inazuma and Sumeru, fortunately. No idea why they didn't do it retroactively though.

I really wish there was a super fast way to spend Resin, still 100 to go on this weekly challenge but I should make it.

So there is a way to condense 40 resin to spend instead of 20 in domains and such (think the Immersifiers from Star Rail, but you can use on any non-boss), except for whatever reason it's a reputation reward from Liyue. Also you have to spend Crystal Cores from crystalflies on it instead of it being "free" which is annoying...but it does speed doing domains up, especially early on.

May not be something that's known, but even though the records only go back 6 months, do the pulls on regular banner from 2 years ago count towards pity?

Pity is preserved indefinitely. However, the standard banner, the character banner, and the weapon banner all have separate pity counts. Also preserved is your guarantee on a 50/50 if you lost the previous one. The only thing that is not preserved is the primary guarantee system on the weapon banner.

Oh, you got Bennett, huh. I don't like the little snot much myself, but he was a staple of EVERY meta team for the first 2 years of the game, until people gravitated toward swirl, electrocharged and dendro reactions. If you're doing the meta thing, make sure you use his burst before Beidou's, since her attacks "snapshot."

And Aquila Favonia is not the most ideal weapon to pick up because the main stat is physical damage, but don't knock weapons. Who would you have wanted instead? Okay, Dehya's on standard.

Mona's popularity is probably more for waifu reasons than anything else, but she's okay. Enables some high damage showcase videos, but hydro is a very competitive element and it's hard to find room for average characters when there are top tier ones available such as Yelan and Kokomi. Usable if you don't have or don't want them and need more hydro after XQ.

I've never been into Mona. Of the original five, she was my least-desired, and the first to genuinely ruin one of my 50/50's. I do tend to use her in Abyss when I use a "Morgana" team, but that's for five minutes every half a month? And the people who like her physically need to take a sec to check out the rest of the cast and ditch her skinny ass. =p

Mona was my last general pool unit to get until they added Tighnari. Then I pulled Tighnari on my next lost 50/50. And then they added Dehya after I took a break from Genshin. So she remains one of my two general pool characters I've never gotten.

Going through the Liyue MSQ was like dragging my ass through A Realm Reborn patches, but at least the payoff here was pretty good as well!

The payoff for the Liyue quest confused me the first time through it. In hindsight it made a lot more sense.

Inazuma has promise but feels like it skipped over act 3 and went right to the conclusion.

Sumeru's story is awesome, though. Like, repeatedly. Block out some time for that.

Honestly a lot of the best writing in Liyue and Inazuma are in the area side stories like The Chasm or Enkanomiya or the fog island I forget the name of where you're just going through a zone and learning about its lore and side character stories from generic NPCs. Or the interlude quests after each main chapter that you'll get to soon.

Then in Sumeru this flips and the main story gets super consistent (aside from some FF14-style filler) and the exploration quests become endless expositions of key terms

Technically speaking I don't know where I'm at patch wise in this thing. Obviously the bank vault and following fights feels like a climax, but I dunno!

"Patch order" kind of breaks down around Liyue now: it basically splits into two parts, one route that goes to Inazuma and another that deals with the aftermath of the Liyue finale and also The Chasm. Those were added AFTER Inazuma wrapped but you can do them now (I wouldn't advise it!).

Eventually the routes converge but not until Sumeru wraps, I have no fucking clue the exact order of quest requirements.

I do know you need to look for the first Dansleif interlude quest to continue to Inazuma

Childe/Osial -> Dainsleif quest -> Go to Inazuma -> Do everything in Inazuma -> Chasm -> Sumeru

Pretty sure. Chasm is treated as an interlude quest, same as the Dainsleif thing because Dainsleif is there, too.

This TCG quest is acting like I know who Fischl is, but I do not.

Yeah, I guess so. Which is weird, cuz she's a decent fan-favorite. Granted, she's in A LOT of limited events.

Is she? She disappeared from the game for a long time due to the VA debacle. She was in Unreconciled Stars back in 1.2, and then last summer's archipelago, and...not a whole lot else tbh.

Having just finished my weeklies that are possible with my current unlocks, I'm probably not going to actually do these or the battle pass moving forward. It's just way too much investment for an active game like this. Hours just working through resin.

Hopefully I can get by doing the main scenario without investing too much into stuff like that.

How are you spending that much time spending resin? I think you'll struggle to progress if you don't want to do domains...

I mean it takes like half an hour to work through domains for a full 160 resin chunk, so that between 3 to 4 hours a week.

I'm comparing this directly to Star Rail where I can spend all my energy in under 10 minutes without even looking at the screen other than clicking the go again button.

When you're new, it's not uncommon for a single domain run to take 3-5 minutes. They do tend to get faster, for what it's worth.

Are you making condensed resin? That at least halves the time to do domains.

As a rough calculation, let's say I take 3 minutes in total on a domain, counting the normal clear time plus running to and from the platform, and with condensed resin I run 4.5 domains per day. So then per week we'd be looking at 94.5 hours per week. That's setting aside the weekly bosses which might add a few extra minutes to the total but nothing major. If we go up to 4 minutes per domain, more like 2 hours.

That's certainly more than spending it all in under 10 minutes, so certainly you might not enjoy the comparison. Though I can mostly watch things on another monitor and do domains on autopilot at this point, so it's not so painful. I can see skipping it, and you can certainly do the open world without caring about optimized artifacts or skill levels. Some events might be difficult and the later levels of Spiral Abyss would be basically impossible. But it is undeniably a time investment.

Do you have your characters built decently? Leveled your artifacts and such? It makes an enormous difference.

Also some of the domains are just rough and it could be less of a skill or power level thing and more of a team comp problem. For example you are just straight up not gonna have a good time in the Mondstadt ice domain without a fire DPS.

You could also try getting carried in multiplayer, I only used it for certain weekly bosses I had no good teams for for a long time but it should be easier if the randos don't also suck.

And again Leylines are always good

OH also food. Food helps so fucking much before you have good stats

And I can only speak for myself, but I didn't have a clue how to gear my characters until like AR40. (Which was still poorly, granted, because nobody understood how the game worked back then.)

It's fine. You really don't need to worry about maxing weeklies in the battle pass.

Do you have another dendro healer? I had Yaoyao before Baizhu (or Kirara) was in the game, and she's served me well.

Yeah I know she's good but I've got Baizhu, that's the only reason I don't need her.

I forgot Baizhu came out. Rest of 3.7 and 3.8 basically just the hoarding primos game since we arent getting new characters til after that it sounds like.

Hopefully the summer event area is fun but given how last year's archipelago was, I'm kinda dreading it.

It sounds fun at least. Ive been sitting on 500+ Fates and might have 600 by the time we start getting Fontaine characters

I'm about to start on an 8-week job that should wrap up right around the end of 3.8, so that timing would work out well for me, assuming there's no 3.9.

Fontaine gonna be 4.0 at the earliest probably. 3.8 just gonna be rerun type stuff and the yearly Island adventure that will be different this time around. Should be the return of Eula, a paid costume for Klee and a free costume for Kaeya if I recall.

I think via game files we already have soft confirmation there will be no 3.9

By definition, 4.0 is Fontaine, 5.0 is Natlan, 6.0 is Sznehnahtanyahanaa...Russia. But version numbers are not counting by tenths. 4.0 does not distinctly come after 3.9; it could be after 3.8 or 3.10

And I certainly assume at this point that 3.8 goes to 4.0, but we'll know for sure in ~36 hours.

Poor Eula is finally coming back and they do her so dirty by making the 4*s Razor, Thoma and Mika

Mika is supposed to be well suited for her (I struggle to say good, but it's what you sign up for with Eula), and Thoma's a lot better nowadays. Not particularly egregious.
