Correct, though I might also object to the fact that the US isn't having a presidential election in 2023, or to the laughable idea that states might secede from the union, or that Texas would join forces with MEXICO

My reading was that there was a decent chance of this but I didn't bother to say anything because it's awful either way, just different kinds of awful. (Also "decent chance" is nowhere near "100% certain")

He added a follow-up tweet some time later claiming that was the case (that the predictions were crazy) but it's hard not to just be sus that that's a backpedal given his history of repeating lines that only are spoken in Russian propaganda circles, that his "peace plan" for Ukraine was "Ukraine gives Russia what it wants," and that he was specifically talking with Medvedev on Twitter a few months earlier.

Gorsuch was the one who defected and joined the liberals in dissent.

So I guess according to SCOTUS, COVID is over enough that the admin absolutely can't have mask or vaccine requirements but still alive and well when it means they can be forced to target immigrants.

I read through this. It seems the big concern is the large mass of migrants on the border still has no solution and border states are concerned it would just open a flood into them.

Except the conservatives on the court profess to be "originalists" and therefore this should be pretty cut and dry.

The law Title 42 is a part of states that if the CDC deems it necessary for public health they can, with the approval of the president, enact it.

The CDC was the one who said they believed it should expire, and Biden agreed with their recommendation. Neither of the parties the law states as the ones who approve the implementation of Title 42 believe it should be continued.

There's no real past precedent to try and lean on to go "Well, actually it should continue in spite of that because..." because while the law was passed as part of a Public Health Law in 1944, Trump's invocation of it (under the urging of Stephen Miller who was pushing for it to be invoked at the border as far back as 2018 - well before COVID obviously) was the first time it had ever been used.

Meanwhile, SCOTUS has struck down mask and vaccine mandates from the government as overreach but now the pandemic is still ongoing in their minds?

That's part of a long thread they have explaining why they posted the aforementioned viral tweet and it basically boils down to: "Okay, yeah, they almost surely knew they were in the country regardless. But when I Google Translated this article it said they used information from social media accounts and this is the only one I think fits the bill."

Mind you, the idea that they could you use the pizza video to confirm their location and that it placed them there that day so that they didn't raid them when they weren't there and tip them off seems sound it's just it's worth keeping in the back of our minds none of this is confirmed yet AFAIK.
