I'm not saying you have to be wrong and its fine to express thoughts, just that I think it's something to be careful with. Last game several town people were calling Death confirmed town and if Corrik doesn't scan him guilty that could have put town a huge disadvantage since it meant a lot of people were mindf***ed into not looking at him.

Another point against Corrik - he forgot to mention that a 2 man team in 10 is balanced by giving scum an extra kill, which may be information he's hiding on purpose in case two of us die tonight. A small point, but still.

Like yes, a 3 man team means we lose with two mislynches, but this doesn't mean a game is imbalanced at 8v2. Hell even without an extra kill, they only need one extra mislynch. Small games end fast. That's just how things are.

We know there isn't an extra kill by the host saying he didn't add any roles. Nice try.

Anyways the set up is almost undoubtedly 3 scum. BCTs post said he wouldn't have told us if 3 or 4 scum in 12. Those are both in the 25-33% range. 2 in 10 is not. Thus doctor + cop is likely.

Anyways. It also means unless doctor and cop are on point we have 2 mislynches and we have to go with day 1 and no information.

I'd suggest a no lynch.

Han's play last game, despite putting in tons of effort, all ended in the wrong conclusions. It took a combined effort from me/you/Ben to steer town on course.

He was off course because he doubted the information in front of him. The information in front of you now is host provided.

By the way, I am totally miffed that I thought I signed up for an open setup game and the game is like 3 quarter's open set up lol. Then again, rhe reason I didn't wanna sign up was because it was open set up soooo... lol. I prefer this but miffed nonetheless.

That being said, I agree with Corrik regarding his analyses. However, I don't agree with the conclusion with three scum. I think that's reading too into it, and we shouldn't take a risk just for that. As ctes pointed out, scum absolutely knows the setup now, and if we don't have a doctor, we are ultra screwed.

As such, I don't think it's wise for the Cop to claim just yet. Not until we know the presence of either Godfather or Doctor, at least. I wouldn't be opposed to No Lynch D1 because that's the meta for this kind of setup on Epic Mafia. Corrik is absolutely not wrong. A Doc + Cop without anything on the scum side is unstoppable as long as town isn't being idiotic.

I'd still like to discuss suspects, though.

Ulti's point on Isquen is interesting. I agree that scum probably wouldn't try to splinter on me instead of waiting a bit to see where things go before putting down a vote. I'll give Isquen a pass for now.

I lean scum on Peaf but I generally have a one day rule for new/returning players. Going after them this early is not only mean, but way too easy for scum if they're town. Generally I just have a "scan them ASAP" vibe.

Don't put words into my mouth. I have not done any personal attacks this game, and I plan to stick to that. I'm in this to win and I wouldn't have signed up otherwise. Can you keep your own personal opinions outside of the game? If not, then replace out.

I'm upset that nobody else cares that isquen only cares about what his vote looks like to others in the game, and that he didn't vote for that reason.

I'm upset that corrik distracted us for multiple pages with no intent to do any real scumhunting. Doing math on the setup on day 1 is great for you to do in your notes but if you're not combining it with any actual hunts then you're wasting town's breath.

Corrik and Ulti arguing doesn't seem like a productive use of time for anyone involved or anyone going to read it.

Oh definitely. When I caught up I thought that post was relatively recent, so it felt like a quick change of heart.

The inability is because you totally fucked my brain with your princess claim last game. As an outsider with 0 information except for flips, I was convinced that you were scum after that. Even up to the time that you were host confirmed (I think earlier in the topic I said your death, but obviously that was after you were host confirmed), I had no inclinations that you were being truthful at all.

That was a very difficult time for me. I audibly said "what the fuck" when it happened. My walls can confirm.

I obviously know I'm not scum, so it's likely Isquen is town or at worst scum fearing the train wouldn't actually go. I seem to always be an easy mislynch target that never seems to get lynched because I simply don't sit around and accept my fate lol

I think you're misunderstanding.

Assume we have one Cop, one Doc, and scum has no roleblockers.

Suppose Cop never claims. Assuming 3 scum and no lynch, there's a 1/7 chance the Cop dies N1. Suppose the game goes on to N2 without a dead Cop, but then Cop dies N2 without ever claiming. We'll never know what their N1 scan was, and since Cop is confirmed to be our only scanning role, we're screwed.

Suppose instead that Cop claims immediately D1. Because Doctor exists, Cop is guaranteed to live one more day. Doctor has a 1/6 chance of dying N1 (assuming 3 scum and no lynch), sure, but Cop lives to at least give one scan (either town clear or guilty scan).

I know you've played on Epic Mafia before. I won't hold this against you, though, since you probably didn't play with randos as often as I did. But a Cop that can safely claim and be infinitely protected by Doc because of no roleblockers is a such a common strategy in a vanilla Epic Mafia setup. It's kinda surprising this doesn't make sense to you.

You want to out the cop (and this only works if we actually have a cop and doctor), so that the doctor can protect them and only them. This helps scum in one way by preventing them from ever losing a night kill, because they now know exactly where the doc save is going. Now scum has to hunt for the doctor in order to kill the cop, who they now have a better chance at finding because they know who the cop is.

I guess the one way this helps is that we now ensure the cop doesn't get shot by scum night 1... but that's more RNG than them hitting the doctor night 1 if the cop was to claim

Normally, role meta is taboo, but we've already been told so much info about the setup from the host. I'm very surprised that the majority of people here don't understand Corrik's line of reasoning.

Cop is by far the most valuable role in this setup even if Doc exists. Doc only has a chance to confirm somebody innocent each night. Cop guarantees either an inno scan or a guilty scan each night.

I do remember hating everything about how epic mafia people play I just couldn't remember why.
