Yeah, I'm very behind on this update. I just made it to Xinyan's mirage yesterday.

Yeah it's a LOT. I've been plugging away at it over the first half of the patch and just wrapped up last night. 137 chests, I'm probably missing some luxurious chests and a couple hundred primos but I can't be bothered.

The event domains that give the currency aren't too bad. Each one has a short exploration stage with easier puzzles and some combat, then a stage that's just combat. You can run the first one once and the second twice and you're done.

There's like 6-8 sidequests after too but they're at least fairly reward-dense. It's just the story stages themselves that take forever. And there's some interesting bits in there but it's mostly pretty boring. Better than Perilous Trails at least, but even longer...

Since Im sick of grinding artifacts and failing to get ones I want Im just gonna focus on ascending more characters for a bit even if I wont use them

That's where I was for a while. I find it works as a good detox from artifact grinding.

Youd think running the Pale Flame/Millileth domain for both Eula and Kuki Id have gotten at least one artifact main stat I could use by now, but its all been stuff neither wants. Its so annoying

Yeah I made leveling chars to 50 my project after building Itto because I was so sick of artifacts. Felt good but I was burning through mora and exp books a little too fast with Sumeru upcoming so I am ready to go back to the artifact domains.

Plus getting an Actually Good Itto build has shown me how bad my other characters are and I need to improve them anyways. My Emblem of Severed Fate rng is TRASH. My fucking resin for some damn Atk% sands and crit rate helms. I got like 5 crit dmg hats though...starting to see why people buy the battle pass weapons...

My artifact RNG in general is so bad. Its like oh hey 3 artifacts from 1 condensed resin!!! All 3 are DEF% main :|

Also looking forward to seeing if some rumors get confirmed during the livestream. Supposedly Tighnari will be put in the normal banner in 3.1, I imagine they would have to announce that in advance of his banner if true.

3.0 banners confirmed as Tighnari/Zhongli first half (with Collei 4*) and Ganyu/Kokomi second half (with Dori 4*). Also, one free Collei from the event is confirmed.

Tighnari will also be on the standard banner starting in 3.1. Personally I am still gonna roll for him, I do not trust standard banner RNG and am still waiting for Jean.

The real problem for my primos is Zhongli. He'd be an upgrade to Traveler on my Geo team AND his shred will be useful for Dendro. But I need to make sure I can guarantee Cyno, and any primos spent on Zhong are primos not being saved for Dehya and Baizhu. Man. Always such awful timing on the busted support banners.

They seem pushed and have synergy with each other, obviously built for double dendro. Off-field support Dendros like Collei can wear the first set, and your on-field DPS can wear the second. Gilded Dreams might be decent for other reaction-based comps too.

All patch I think you mean all year. Man I am excited for Sumeru to come though

After ages of exclusively Inazuma commissions I finally got the dumb novel achievement

Finished up The Chasm today, at least all the achievements, quests, story chapter, and and map%. Had it maybe halfway done before when I had to rush through most of it for that one event.

Wasn't really tedious and was nice to be able to go at my own pace. I think this is the coolest area in the game, it was a breath of fresh air to go back to. I'm more excited to see how Sumeru compares but also, I highly doubt it'll stack up as well lol.

One week left to do pretty much all of GAA. Did the Reminiscent event yesterday, and was not a fan.

Also 33 star'd Abyss. I honestly thought that due to the mechanics of the fight, the Ruin Serpent wouldn't be in Abyss. Instead, I get one-shot'd by a move I'm not sure how to stop. What makes it worse is that it forces to fight the damn Mirror Maiden and her two frosty goons again, and that field she has around her is a major pain.

I crammed 5 hours last night. Did the second and third quarter of the archipelago event, as well as caught up on everything else.

But I also have a lot of quests to catch up on, and I missed 16 chests in Xinyan's area somehow.

Hmm I realized I want Fischl for Dendro reactions and farmed the electro cube a couple weeks ago. Decided to spend the exp and mora on her now so I don't forget it later. Except...I got her to 60 and her skill to 6 before realizing I don't have nearly enough arrowheads for both her and Collei. I thought I had a ton but I guess Diona and Geo Traveler ate them all. Ooooooops

edit: fuck me, The Stringless uses them too. I hope Sumeru has lots of hillichurls!

Mats can be like that sometimes.

Arrowheads were my gray-item roadblock for a very long time.

Puzzle event completed. I really enjoyed it, and it's that much better when compared to the shadow puzzles.

Finished Blazing Trails (part 2 of the event quest...fuck). I really want an alternate Xinyan costume with her hair down.

1 phase into Fischl's quest, and I'm already tired of the perspective puzzles. Also, Fischl is kind of grating.

Xinyan is so wholesome. Its such a shame her gameplay is so bad

The perspective puzzles were awful. I cheated a few of them with Kazuha and the red fan. The controls were atrocious, and the level of precision needed was extremely inconsistent.

I've been dragging my feet on the final leg of the event, but I'll probably do it today. I am otherwise all caught up with 2.8 events. Just need to do like 6 character quests and 8 hangouts after that~

She can be pretty one-note, but I am enjoying her here waaaaay more than in Inazuma (Labyrinth Warriors)

She can be yeah. I just like how kind she is. She seems like shed accept anyone from anywhere as long as they were a good person. She was definitely better on the island than the Inazuma event.

Fischl's perspective puzzles were fine for me but Mona's shapes were not. My brain has a much harder time trying to take a 2d shape, rotate it in my mind, and translate it into a 3d environment. I ended up kind of liking the gear puzzles though. Score one point for Fontaine I guess, first Fontaine event/quest that wasn't a huge pain in the ass. Also agreed on Xinyan, after Kazuha's domain I was expecting her to have a tragic backstory too but her optimism was a nice change of pace.

Well her other hand is holding a spear so Id imagine its that. I think the shield is an ability or something though? Its cool to see a character with something like that though

That we know of. As you've said, we have three eyepatch characters, and I'm pretty sure Kaeya also has something going on with his other eye.

One of the best character designs in the game, kind of a shame she'll probably be the 4 star.

Yeah, the 4*s of Sumeru are looking better than the 5*s design wise to me.

Still catching up on quests to even be able to play Sumeru.

I'm still working on Itto's friendship levels, and I don't know how/if geo is going to react with dendro, so Collei may have to wait to play with Kuki and Yelan

You should be able to just walk into Sumeru, and there will be a quick start for the event so you don't need to be totally caught up on the story, I think.

My day 1 plan is to pull for Tighnari and then go wherever his boss is and grind for some ascensions before I can get deeper into exploration over the weekend. Dendro traveler fills in until then and then I'll be using Fischl, Diona, and idk, Collei or Raiden or an exploration puzzle filler.

I had assumed Sumeru would be stonewalled behind a bunch of quests, but apparently you just have to finish the prologue (i.e., Mondstadt).

I set up a team last I logged in of Keqing, Kuki, Traveler, and Kazuha. (I should rename my traveler to start with K.) I haven't played with one of these characters ever and obviously not the dendro variant of MC, either, so this will be interesting. I might rapidly say nuts to that and play something more comfortable, considering the only two characters I really need are Ganyu and a shield, and I can brute force anything that's not element-locked.

Day 1 Ill probably do my weekly stuff for BP and check out some of Sumeru. Ill likely just bring Eula/Noelle/Yelan/Yoimiya with me until I get the free Collei to play around with
