Might as well put all your realm/elemental tickets into water since he's probably the last boss that matters.

If it means something, JP has done much better in sales going by Sensor Tower (It's the top 2 with Terra and Cecil instead of Lightning and Tidus)

That's interesting about the water Bahamut. Water is my strongest team so I may go for him because why not.

It obviously would be doing a lot better in Japan since mobile games are more popular there and they have a lot more nostalgic people for pre FF7 Final Fantasy since RPGs weren't mainstream here until FF7 exploded on the scene.

Hey, just heard the news from my brother who still plays. Absolutely loved this game at the start, up through around when the first torment dungeons came out. When weekly events were still challenging. And still got a decent amount of enjoyment for at least a couple years after that. Was never able to force myself through all the 5* magicites, let alone torment 2 highest difficulty, odin, 6* magicite, etc. I think part of that was getting screwed by the gacha since syncros debuted. But overall enjoyed the game a lot. End of an era.

FGO has a level 120 cap now. NA got it early, only came out last August in JP. But it requires an absolute fuckton of exp and a new thing called servant coins which you can only get from bond and from extra copies in the gacha. In Kojirou's case, that would require 60-150 copies (depending on bond level. I'm guessing you quit before bond 11-15 were added, so that'd be on the higher side of coins needed) to get to level 120, and another 180 to unlock all of the extra skills (they don't do a whole lot and are mostly the same for everyone - 30-50% "extra card" effectiveness, start with 10-20% NP gauge, and 20-30% extra damage against some class). Also specific to Kojirou, he got a really nice buff in JP a while back, though that's still almost a year away for NA.

Of note, the next servant coming out in NA is the most overpowered in JP still and it isn't even close. And it's another Artoria, so that could be a reason to come back or a reason not to. <_<

Man, it really sucks they are shutting down the gloabal servers. The game had a fun run over 7 years.

I agree that the game was currently very much on autopilot, since Nexus bosses are too uncommon and not hard enough for current relics, but I was actually looking forward to Bahamut Zero and the final bosses in the Crystal dungeon.

I don't know where I'll go from here. Starting a JP account seems like such a tall task, I don't think I want to do that. I'm also playing Dokkan Battle, but that has its own problems of lacking meaningful content right now.

I'm actually fine with a ton of grinding and whatnot to max out a servant. I didn't like how easy ("easy") they were to cap. As for Artoria that's pretty much a null thing on my decision either way. Considering I use mostly 1-3* servants because I like them and don't have a particular fondness for her, yeah it's whatever. I mean it's a single player game so I don't care if everyone else goes for her, just that ai wouldn't.

I dunno. I'll ponder on it. It's a very grindy game I'm not sure I have that time these days.

I guess it's also worth reminding everyone here that FFVII Ever Crisis is coming out later this year. So there's always that.

But in any case, yeah, I'm just as surprised as anyone else that global is shutting down and so suddenly. I know it wasn't making all that much (but still more than what a lot of games make), but I thought it'd be such a low maintenance game that they could keep it running. I guess not.

I know I didn't put much effort into the high-end content, but this is the second gacha game that I really put any effort into regularly playing, and my first RPG one, so it really hurts to see it go.

Nah I doubt it, if anything a new kind of soul break should have kept the game going. Though on that note I think Dena was probably disappointed that Dual Awakenings weren't bringing the money they hoped for. They're powerful sure but they're not needed since awakenings and syncs can still handle current nexus bosses, and the sub30 rewards are basically useless since that's overabundant stuff which is why people probably didn't put money towards fest banners for them.

To plan ahead these are gonna be the last Nexus bosses global gets.

I now have three 7* relics for Rydia and shes still unusable! (Both dyads and the LBGS). Master AASB is cool, but I was looking for mages.

You can lens Rydia's first awakening and max hone it with level 4 lens or scrolls. Earth labyrinth 2 is the last elemental nexus we're getting so might as well YOLO.

We're still getting a maintenance next week so we might get the refresh then, there's probably only one more after that or they might gives us all the remaining content global is getting.

Oh is her AASB lensable? I'd definitely prefer the sync though since she's limited to four hit abilities or chain stonega...

Finally another non-dupe! I have both of his syncs and AOSBs.

I guess I'll hold off on spending any lab campaign ticket until after this maintenance just in case. If the last one is too far in the future there'd be a real tradeoff between better pools and having barely any time to use the new stuff anyway, though!

Yeah so I did some thinking. The idea of restarting was kinda exciting so I decided to really consider if JP had much life left in it.

But ultimately I just doubt the game lasts in JP much longer. The more I think about it the more I'm thinking the game is slowly dying revenuewise and shutting down the global server was done as a courtesy to the JP fanbase in a way. JP will never have the total blindside that Global did, which is a nice gesture for your more loyal playerbase. I'm betting JP gets their shutdown notice within 6 months, kinda having the same foresight we have had. Wish the FFX labyrinth boss was also coming but alas.

So the final boss will be Bahamut Zero for me. Man I wish I knew this was coming I would have put another two draws on the Kimahri banner to try to get that Rikku dual awakening.

Yeah, I'm not going to restart either. If I could transfer my account over I'd try JP but to me the idea of putting in that much grind again doesn't really appeal.

Restarting fresh seems like a cool idea since all the mythril would be on the highest powercreep banners.

But yeah I just can't trust it'll be around much longer than 6 months. Like it'd be cool to slowly build teams back up but yeah not if the game ends before I finish or get to do much with them.

There's too many teams to grind back up, 8 physical and magical elemental teams plus one bio, 18 realm teams (19 if FF16 gets added) plus the job based teams too.

Also agree the game probably won't last much longer in Japan either, people don't really like the direction it's going with bosses having insane amounts of HP that makes transcendent Chaos look squishy and being more strict with off realm characters in final boss dungeons. People are getting bored of the endgame simply because bosses take forever to kill nowadays. Most likely around when every game gets their Crystal dungeon final boss Japan will get it's end of service announcement.

I think they were really close to figuring out how to extend game life in a meaningful way all things considered

Labyrinth Dungeons were a good idea but grinding the same stuff over and over to get +5% mods just wasn't fun

I think I would have really liked a version of labyrinth that was more like the story mode. Like the story mode had its own set of character levels and started everyone at level 1 with a ragtag set of abilities and soul breaks.

Imagine each Labyrinth season using that mechanic, with the chests and encounters having equipment, abilities and soul breaks in them to power up your Labyrinth parties. With their levels and stuff resetting each season.

Then your reward at the end is to get the 5% gear for the character you want. It would be so cool.

But oh well.

Recleared IX lab. Still no sub-30, but at least I beat it on my first real try this time.

The last few LotR pulls have all been bad, but that really doesn't matter anymore.

Anyone know how many BDL you typically need for crystal dungeons?

There was a notification for updating the loyalty draw which seems totally pointless at this point, but nothing about the realm/elemental draw. I really hope they do those too since I've been sitting on all these tickets, but I'm not feeling optimistic now.

I think 2-3 per character, depending on the boss. Ultimecia has 6.5 million HP and her space barrier has 3.3 million HP so about 10 million in total, granted you don't have to destroy the space barrier since it's only there temporarily but it's highly recommended to damage it as much as possible to stack pain on the final form before it vanishes.

I'm hoping I can do it with Rinoa (sync1, ice awakening, dyad) Fujin (dual, awakening 1, LBO) and Edea (dark sync, awakening 1, dyad) Maybe I should hone Fujin's awakening for an extra cast? Wish I did some more pull on that Edea/Fujin banner now...

Hrm sounds like I'll be on the borderline then. I have Quisitis (DA+SA2+AA1), Rinoa (AA1+3+LBO), and Fujin (AA1+2). I don't have an in-realm FBC though, so I'll be dealing with the pretty hefty penalty for bringing Mog.

Ultimecia is one of the easier realm CDs so bring Mog isn't that much of a detriment. Plus who else are you going to use for support in realm?

I think Laguna and Seifer are the in-realm FBCs? Laguna would imperil for Rinoa and I have two BDL for Seifer, but yeah Mog might be better even if I did have one of their AA2s.

I've heard that Mog isn't really a reasonable option for the VII CD, though.

Yeah the quickcast and heals (because Selphie sucks as healer) make Mog more useful than bringing Seifer or Laguna just for their full break counters. Plus this boss has short turn limits in her phases like Nexus bosses before she auto kills your party so you need to be quick in this fight anyway.

IV: 1/3 Edward SASB

Neat, though I think he's mainly useful for speedrunning and I don't think he's gonna help me for the IV lab.

I appreciate the 10 daily draw until EoS. Those were always fun, even if largely pointless (even more so, now).

Under normal circumstances, I'd also be excited about the increased drop rate of perfect passives in labs, but I doubt I'll do any manual runs anymore.

This maintenance is making me sad about the game ending, there's still exciting stuff left to do. The announcement confirms we will get the VII crystal dungeon which I wasn't sure about, I thought the new content might stop after Fire crystal dungeon. I'm hoping that also means one more maintenance with the realm ticket update!

Second try, first one got ended by silence on slots 2 and 4, so I had to change my positions. (This is the d600)

First try on D700 I only got her to 37.7%. This boss is tanky as hell, and Selphie isn't that great of a healer. There's a lot of anti-heal too.

I also had to restart because of the sit 2+4 status attack, but easy D600 kill after that

I actually screwed up pretty majorly with Mog and thought I had time to use his USB1, so he never ended up having the gauge to counter the second full break. It only took my dps down to like the 15-20k range per hit, though. It seems like slots 1-3 get hit more so too bad I didnt put Mog in slot 2!

III: Onion Knight G+2 (one SB bar + earth infusion)

Yeah, but as most of us speculated the game probably isn't making money anymore outside of a couple of whales which is why they had the sudden shutdown. There's even stuff that was datamined like the job based crystal dungeons being translated even though the game is most likely going to shut down before we get them.

I'm not even sure if I should wait for the ticket update anymore, there's so little time left after the next maintenance that it's probably not even worth it since you'll most likely only have a few weeks to even use that stuff. Though I guess Safer Sephiroth does have that insane amount of HP that it's probably better to wait until the update and blow all the tickets on FF7 since he, Ulti and BZ are the only bosses that are worth preparing for.

So doss Bahamut Zero have a gimmick like Odin where he does/takes less damage if you have the correct element 6* magicite/odin equipped?

I'm just wondering if it may be smarter to gun for the Level 130 Historia Crystal (FFX) to use against him since my whole Water team is FFX right now.

I think he does with Neo Bahamut's magicite.

Jeez Ultimecia is just too damn bulky, I can get her under 20% but I always get timed out because she has so much HP that my character's cap breaks run out. This is my best run so far.

I got an easy sub-30 against the D600 fight, despite not having enough gauge with Mog to counter the second FB.

I don't think I have quite enough to handle the D700 fight, but I want to give it a serious try regardless.

New nexus boss came out day in case anyone forgot, Ice weak Silver Dragon. Beat him first try (well if you don't count the first run where I forgot Edea's ice chain)

Josef's pretty strong for a dude who dies early game! That piercing command 1 on his sync 2 cracked rage during bulky moments so even Fran could do big damage.

What abilities do you use with Fran?

Her Hero Abilty only pretty much, well unless you count her sync command 1 as well.

Silver Dragon is so basic compared to Enkidu. Just the standard Nexus tricks except he uses the gear systems and has no 5 second wall so go ham as much as you want.

Did two D500 lab runs with the buffed drop rate. 7/9 PP already!

I sub-20d the easy phys Silver Dragon (hopefully a good sign for the real one) and used the ticket on Earth

Picked up a Basch dyad and Cinque awakening from the free draws today.

I got Fang's Dyad and Auron's Dyad. The latter hurts, because Auron's HA1 is Overstrike and we'll never get his 6-hit HA2.
