I mean, height is strongly correlated with basketball ability. We do discriminate what teams and leagues you can play in by skill among other things.

There are people here saying its a sport where theres pretty much no difference. There doesnt seem to be any reliable studies on it at the moment. Make it a pure open league in the interests of equality.

I think thatsnot true. I know for sure it's not in snowboarding. Men get much higher air and more spins and rotations. I assume skateboarding is the same

on professional levels men destroy women, all these tiers would do is put women in the bottom tier with MAYBE a literal couple in the next tier. the top tier, where all the men would be, would generate the most money and revenue and the lesser tiers would be neglected or have to be subsidized by the higher division.

everyone saying there isnt a clear advantage of male vs female, then why do we have different leagues to begin with?

women arent being put in the same league as men right now. They arent expected to outperform men.

they have their own leagues and are judged according to their peers.

The differentiation isn't saying that men will 100% beat a women. It's saying that the population distribution is generally higher. Have you seen one of those graphs comparing two?

You see there's overlap, and the someone in the upper percentile of the one with the lower mean can be higher as an individual than the mean of the other distribution. But if you compare respective percentiles, then the one one with the lower mean loses. So while Serena Williams can globber most men, she can't compete with the best men.

It's not hating on trans women. It's just acknowledge that they're different. There's a reason why TRT is banned in male sports, because it gives them an extra advantage. And in many 1v1 sports, people are separated by weight classes.

Wonder how this turned out.

Maybe we can stop fighting a war against trans people and treat them as valid human beings first. Then we can worry about them winning some women's sporting events sometimes.

Good post, I intuitively got why Serena shouldnt have to compete in a mens league even though she would probably clobber 95% of all males on Earth, but explaining it in terms of distribution curves and upper bounds is a well reasoned way of explaining why.
