I've seen some people speculate she had a 1-year no compete clause in her contract, which would explain why she waited until now. And anyway, Vshojo and Hololive aren't exactly comparable in terms of how they manage their talent. Vshojo are much more hands off, don't retain IP, don't restrict creativity, etc. The fact they let Kson show up on stage in person wearing cosply is something Hololive would have never allowed.

I would also say that Kson being allowed to appear as her real life self not only gives her a lot of freedom, it also lets her be a spokesperson in these kinds of events, since she doesnt always need to be behind a screen.

That said, VShojo members have interacted with hololive talent, so I wonder if this would a roundabout way to get Kson to interact with them again, if theyll just not let it happen.

I do wonder if this means that going at it solo just doesn't cut even for someone like her.
The line was always she's doing for creative freedom,but I'm sure there's still a tradeback for joining Vshojo in exchange for w/e resources they may provide that she didn't have on her own.

Why wouldnt she just continue using her current channel with Vshojo like Kson is rather than have to pay someone for a whole new design, model, etc

think she makes more money from doing art and just never really put in the effort into streaming. the personal stuff didnt help either im sure

She had back problems that made streaming difficult too, right? Sad, but not entirely unexpected given all the breaks. Sounds like she's leaving on good terms though.

From her video and the wording of the Cover announcement it sounds like they probably wanted more from her than she was willing to give after her other duties and her injury. I'm guessing they decided to not renew the contract after year 1 ended

She did recently open a youtube channel for her art persona and uploaded a few gaming videos to it including a Genshin stream, so she might continue using that from time to time

I wish her the best. At least we'll get to send her off properly.

yeah it's been a long time since she was able to stream as often as they are supposed to. the application process seems to indicate they want people who are able to stream at least twice a week. some of the veteran JP members, especially Ayame, seem to be exempt from this rule but otherwise I can't imagine they were happy about Sana streaming less than once a month. even if there was a good reason for it.

i'm not a daily vtubing consumer so tbh i kinda liked the slow pace of Sana

and she often streamed stuff i like so i could just check 'em out

I didn't watch much of her solo stuff, but she did good in collabs.

Shame that the Ina collab was essentially a send off as that was what many eagerly wanted from the get go.

Yeah, the wording of the release made it sound like she was the one who wanted to retire. It does seem likely that the injury is still affecting her.

I wish her all the best, and I'm glad that this graduation came on amicable terms so her archive will live on like Coco's.

If it's new EN VTubers you're looking for, Phase-Connect just debuted a new generation. I checked out all of their debuts, and half of them appeal to me outright while 2 of the other 3 got a sub for a particular type of stream (one I'm looking forward to her karaokes, while the other shares my taste in games, liking both the SMT and FE series).
