I made it 149 hours into Elden Ring as a mage before I found out about Radagon's Icon, which I could have had 100 hours ago.

I usually have to use a few flasks just to get to the CK, and then he stomps me into dust. Absolutely wont let you heal for anything

You can also go down to Siofra early to get the Clayman's spear.

I ended up going and getting this last night. I only had to kill 30 of them or so but I kept spamming that glintstone arc spell and would take out a bunch of them at a time since they are so dense.

Put Ice Spear on it. Upgraded it to 6. Went to upgrade to 7 and saw it changed the STR scaling, not the INT. so it's a C scaling STR weapon now. I'm kind of confused about this but whatever.

The spear was great in the underground area with the ghostly minotaurs since it would stagger most of their stuff but it's a pain in the ass to use on horseback. It's got a very limited hit box on horse it seems.

I stopped upgrading it at 7 or 8 and will wait until I find whatever Katana I want to use.

Yeah, I suppose to really crank up its magic scaling (to B eventually), you need to give up cold. It does get a C scaling for INT as well as STR when you do Cold +18, but it's a long way there.

I wish there was a way to tell if you cleared out a dungeon/cave yet. I'm sure I'm missing a few.

For this one, if you do Fia's/D's quest, you can summon D's twin brother which will help a bit. I lucked out and had the first Gargoyle fly off the cliff and die, and the second one has a moveset that's a bit easier to read.

If by "cleared out" you just mean beat the boss of that cave then the fastest way to tell would be to go to the cave and check if you can teleport out

So I didn't have a problem there but only because I did all the underground areas before I cleared out Atlus and the dungeons. I was OP for Volcano/Capital City.

Finally beat a small dungeon, got nothing useful at all for my character. Just a bunch of stupid ashes. I sure wish I could finally stumble on a new axe or shield :/

yeah, the slow drip-feed of weapons and armor was painful at the start of the game. get used to ashes and spells and shit as "rewards" for catacombs and stuff for a while

190 hours so far and im about 10 items away from having a complete inventory...

This is about where I stopped at last night. Figure I would just run around and go back to some things I told myself I would go back to like 40 hours of gameplay earlier.

I'm sure I'm not the 1st person to notice this, but it just hit me earlier than all of the major boss fights (or demigods) all have names that start with the letters G, R, or M. GRRM out there being clever lol.

I don't think that's right. I think if you walk far enough into a cave, maybe halfway to the site of grace, you won't be able to teleport out even if you cleared it. I could be wrong but I've never been able to teleport out of one.

Come to think of it I may have a 4th path option, being what I assume the capital sewers. Not sure if I have access to an entrance yet, though I do recall skipping over an elevator shaft.

Cool observation! The first letter designates which branch of the family they belong to but I never noticed the overall connection there.

You can definitely fast travel out of caves/catacombs/etc... that you have cleared the boss in

No you can't. Unless you're talking about the quick exit warp in the boss area which is completely different.

After killing the boss those areas absolutely can be fast traveled out of.

you absolutely can, idk what's preventing you guys from doing it

some caves/catacombs have two separate bosses. im not sure if both have to be defeated or only the "main" one. need to find another cave/catacomb with two.

black knife catacomb and sage cave are some mini dungs with two bosses.

I'll test it again when I get home but I have only ever seen graces "crossed out" when I try to teleport out of caves, even ones where I'm 100% sure I've cleared.

tell us the name of the cave when you can too. It's possible you defeated the hidden boss in it and the main one is still alive.

That's how it was in past Dark Souls games as well. This is the first one that allows you to fast travel from anywhere on the map.

Yeah i can definitely warp out of dungeons after i cleared the boss. I always do that, i never understood the point of the blue warp thing

This dude on Discord is DMing me for some advice and shit. He's at level 79 and think his issues is he improperly allocated his stats. I told him he just simply needs to grind more and level up his Vigor and End.

And you guys are right you can warp out of the dungeon if you already killed the boss

I got warped to this volcano place and I have to beat these two torture device things to get out, but they keep beating me.

Funny thing is that not too much longer after I posted this message another one of those fucks showed up, lol. His placement is freaking brutal (the one that is down there where the dragon tower shield is at. No damn room whatever to dodge). These assholes need a stamina bar like the player.

I feel super sorry for melee players in coop. They are kinda useless and it's not their fault. Magic users are all ranged and they do the most damage thus aggroing the boss so melee can't even land a hit and they are always trying to chase down the boss.

I beat the boss at the end of Fia's quest and noticed that it had like an 8.65% completion rating.

I know it's tied to an ending but considering how out of the way this whole thing was that's a really high completion statistic I thought.

Switching to Arcane from Strength and going Occult Spiked Caestus was the right move. Gave Margit 2 Electric Boogaloo and Demonic Tree Sentinel the business.

If you're going by Steam achievements, the totals are wonky as fuck. When I beat Malenia, it said something like 17% of players had the achievement (this was like a week after release), but only 12% of players had beaten Loretta. Loretta is a required boss before Malenia. How could more players have the Malenia achievement than the Loretta one? And how tf did nearly 1 in 5 people have Malenia done a week after release?

This was Xbox. That's weird about Steam though. Maybe some people were using some trainer or something to get the 'impressive achievement' lol

Haven't checked if Achievements are wonky on Xbox but I think I've unlocked them for every major fight so I think they should be accurate.

I usually don't care for giant bosses too much but I actually liked the secret boss fight in crumbling farum azula. Felt like the times I died it was something I could have easily avoided compared to a lot of the other stuff in this game that can happen.

With that down and with me just getting the legendary armament and talisman trophies to pop not that long ago I don't really have much left to beat the game and get the platinum trophy. Yeah, I already got my game set up in a way in that I can get all the endings by redownloading my cloud save. I got over 300 hours into my character's save file, I am NOT replaying this anytime soon, lol. Probably will be back once DLC drops and with how well this game sold I don't doubt its coming.

Yeaaaah, I think I about had my fill of the big maximum poise delayed swing 1 to 2 hit kill enemies with hitboxes the size of a football field for awhile. Died to this guy like 5 times before I just said screw it, dug out the other +25 uchigatana, slapped seppuku on it, and just double-seppuku'd him to death (thanks to a youtube video I seen about it. Never actually thought to make a copy of it, but hey it definitely worked):
