what talismen? i been using comet and i just found azure comet last night. is that something to replace or add to the arsenal? haven't got to use it yet

Ended up biting the bullet, buying a bunch of smith stones and switching my weapon to the godskin peeler

higher base damage, and wider and longer attack range than the scimitar.

plus it looks badass

I did the same. Got mine to +25, and it's been a fun change of pace to the dual katanas I've been running for the past 100 hours lol.

I completely missed this ash with all my 300 hours of playing the game and I don't know how the hell I did since I been in the area where it's at like 3 times, lol.

Seriously that ash would have made my crucible knight life like 50 times easier and now I am mad thinking about it.

It's almost comical how freaking hard those giant lobsters are. I had a hell of a time in the sewers dealing with that pair of them.

Got the plat! Was a pretty easy plat to obtain. Worst part was that I had to go get a weapon from lyedell in ng+.
What took me tens of hours to complete on first playthrough, I accomplished in a couple hours when restarting lol

New least favorite enemy is those lightning motherfuckers in the capital

its like a mini boss every ten feet and the cramped corridors dont give you any room to dodge their huge range swipe attacks

Finished up the Fia and Ranni questlines last night. I explored from the Volcano Manor site of grace you get transported to outwards. Today I'll start at the Dectus lift and work my way up. I want to try to get Comet Azur today.

I have 60 in INT, ARC and FAI and yet I can't find a spell that I like that's super punishing and boss killing. What yall recommend?

I only used incantations my first run and found them underwhelming. May use sorcery and dragon spells on my third run down the road.

I cringe whenever I see someone use dragon breath in coop against bosses. Does so little damage.

Just over here getting in some morning co-op mohg runs. It is not going well with hosts face-planting and all of the ones I ran into so far did not catch on about using the one crystal tear to reduce the damage of mohg's blood suck you off move, lol.

Soon I posted this message I get summoned into a game where the two guys started spamming swarm of flies, I figure screw it and join them and we just melted mohg down. Didn't even stand a chance, poor bastard.

it fucking blocks you from seeing what some bosses are doing so i just stop helping hosts that do it.

depends on the breath. ice and magma are pretty good, and they don't obscure the fight much

Played for 2 houra today. My session was cut short while I was doing that dungeon found in radahns beach battle. My home's power shut off right before i got to the lever ffs

This was almost an hour ago. I wonder if my power is gonna come back on any time soon

Finished the capital and reached the mountaintops

capital was a great dungeon but damn there is some wonky shit with the runes with those enemies. Those stationary things that you run up behind give you like 3000 runes; and I spent a bunch of time killing a crucible knight and was rewarded with just 3000 runes

thought it would be like the other non-boss bosses in this area that didnt have health bars on the screen but dont respawn, and drop loot (the tree spirit and avatar)

ended up just running past the other crucible knights and those freaking lightning knights which seem way OP

The hand spiders are fucked up.

And man, I'm sad there aren't more Scarlet Rot weapons. Maybe I'll aim for Frozen Needle/Antspur Rapier to get dual status effects. I assume you can't use Ashes of War on it.

Antspur Rapier you can, yeah. Frozen Needle nope.

Oh, you're right. And you can give it Poison Mist with the Bleed affinity so you can apply Scarlet Rot, Poison, Bleed, and Frostbite at the same time.

How amazingly awful, I'm definitely doing that lol.

That sounds fun as heck although I'd personally probably try to limit myself to fewer afflictions that you can proc faster. But still yours is probably more fun.

I saw someone cheesing Niall with poison arrows, that was pretty fun. Apparently you can shoot him through one of those small windows before you even enter the arena.

Sleep is a status effect oftenwell, slept on. I try it on various things when I remember to. Its particularly useful for the Godskin type bosses.

Power came back on an hour after my last post but didnt feel like playing the game so just went to bed.

I checked this morning and my save file was only around a minute behind my last action. So was able to get to the lever fast. I was worried my file might have corrupted but its all good.

So are NPC summons just completely pointless? Also is it true that the game is significantly easier with a bleed weapon?

No. Nepheli, alexander, and D all survived the entirety of the boss fights they helped me with...especially alexander, he a ol' tanky pot bastard.

I personally beat a lot of the end game bosses on my first try dual-wielding rivers of blood and a occult nagakiba (alongside using hoslow's whip, urumi whip, and great stars when something needed strike type bashing) and summoning my best friend/buddy mimic tear or black knife tiche as a 55 dex 55 arcane weeb. I did had to actually put in effort to beat malenia, the one two headed dragon in farum azura and the final boss combo, but admittedly bosses like the godskin duo, fire giant, maliketh and so on got freaking melted.

Even though the bleed arcane stuff hits hard, I still don't think its quite a automatic I win button in pve.....still got to be a little decent to get up close and not face plant. (Not unless its something like using the dragon's seal and spamming swarm of flies or something since the dragon's seal has arcane scaling).

If you're going to summon, use am Ash instead. The boss gets a health boost from summons, but not ashes. Tbh ashes trivialize most fights, I don't like ashes or summons.

Arcane/dex with Rivers of Blood is the easiest setup imo. Most of my first run was faith and str/fth build, but I switched to arcane/dex when I found Rivers of Blood because it looked cool and the game became much easier at that point. Pretty much every major encounter aside from the final boss will be much easier with bleed, RoB on particular.

i beat the godskin duo. i died 1st time. 2nd time I played it a bit safer and beat them. got hit a few times and ended up using 2 health flasks and 2 boiled crabs the entire time. was mainly jump attacking them with dual colossal hammers amped with royal knight resolve. I seem to get hit after every jumping attack while I'm recovering lol but it is whatever. I didn't use the summon and didn't use spirit ash this time around so went solo. there is no way I could have done this with a character w/ lower endurance (so have to wear weaker armor) and vigor.

bleed is probably the easiest build for beginners. everybody gonna recommend rivers of blood, but you can't get that until very late in the game.

mohgwyn's sacred spear is imo the most busted bleed weapon for pve, and is available as early as after killing your first shardbearer. pair it with a maxed out fingerprint shield, the greatshield talisman, and enough endurance to midroll and you're basically unkillable and can attack while blocking. basically just gotta roll any grapples and overhead attacks.

couple that with swarm of flies and the dragon seal and you can bully the fuck out of pretty much anything in the game susceptible to bleed, malenia included.

I would probably just go with Bloody Helice or Moonveil until you get RoB if that's the route you want to go.

On my first run I did that area after the Haligtree so nothing there gave me much resistance in comparison until the final boss. Beat the Godskin Duo my first time on my first run. We'll see how it goes my second run.

i didn't think he was that bad, maybe it's build dependent, idk. theoretically though you could just sprint past all the trash and summon two dudes at the fog gate and have yourself the spear in like 10 minutes.

I think theres one in one of those wagons in an enemy camp early on. The back of wagons usually have chests attached to them in the back

Yup there is. I've been using that one through midgame and it's been a great secondary weapon.

Nightrider Flail looks so cool

So far Godslayer's Greatsword is my favorite weapon. Not a huge fan of greatswords since they feel sluggish but this does so much damage and its skill is one of the best imo. Climbing that tower to get it caused my vertigo to flare up

yeah, for a tanky faith build its nice

the art is slow but Ive found in pvp players mistake the windup slash as a regular attack, not suspecting of the high damage super armor follow ups

the damage is high enough it usually offsets the hits you take in turn using it

Str/Faith has been my favorite build so far.

On my third playthrough, Im using dex and I hate it. lol

Did you level Strength/Faith equally or did you focus more in one stat? There are some weapons I wanna use with high Str/Dex requirements so I'm wondering how I should do my eventual Faith playthrough.
