Those gargoyles are absolute bastards. There was a video that hit the top of r/EldenRing the other day of someone who'd beaten the game and was still absolutely murked by them.

does sleeping pots work on crucible knights? so far I can do ok against the sword and shield guys w/ parry (I parry them like with a 50% success rate atm but it's enough for me to only have to heal twice per battle vs using up to 10 flasks lol; with the spear crucibles I can't parry them for shit and I end up using a lot of healing flaks).

need to prepare for duo crucible fight. no way I'm surviving that without some other aid. I'm currently doing no-spirit ash run so I can learn the enemy patterns a bit better so they are out of the picture.

You don't have to stumble, the map fragment of an area is marked on the map.

I feel super weak in areas like Elphael and Subterranean Shunning Ground.

Came across a scarseal talisman which raises vigor, endurance, strength, and dexterity by +3 each but increases damage taken

the damage taken is nearly offset by the increase in HP and damage resistance and Im running a warrior/melee build so its a no brainer. Basically 12 free levels in the stats Im pumping anyway

Me and Placidsax killed each other at the same time. I can no longer lay down at the spot to enter the arenaIm guessing those 280k runes are just lost?

Yeah, that talisman is pretty great. I never took it off the moment I got it (I now use it's enhanced version that boosts all the stats by 5 instead of 3).

There is also two of them that does the same for mind, intelligence, faith and arcane but man you actually feel the pain for wearing both this and the one for the other stats, lol.

my understanding is the one that increases stats even more also is a bigger increase in damage; but I havent found that one yet

flying dragon greyll just tried to blow up my computer. Was just fighting him and he somehow landed and clipped into the side of the bridge. my fps slowed to like 5-10 and he just kept wiggling around everywhere and gushing fire straight into the air. My pc started sounding like a jet engine and i had to run to the grace which reset him and turned everything back to normal. 10/10 boss design

Is it just me or do invasions kinda suck in this one? To invade they need to have the item activated which means 99% of the time theyre summoning and you just get ganked. Kinda lame.

Either that, or some capabilities for extreme cheese can at times make invasions in elden ring kind of corny thus from software is going to have to keep nerfing and patching for awhile.

My friend and I set up a quick item transfer session and he was giving me a copy of the sanguine noble set since for whatever reason the npc invader you get this set from wouldn't invade me/must have broke it since I been to that mohg dynasty region way earlier via the viarre questline. Anyway, player invader joins the game like they usually do when I am just trying to transfer shit, but you know what, screw it, I'll fight him 1 on 1 like we usually do when this happens.

I instantly die, and likewise same with my friend. Come to find out he his us with this corny shit:

The pvp isn't bad when its two groups willing to fight fair and whatever happens happen, but exploits/oversights like the above just reinforces my opinion that at the end of the day I really never did, and more than likely never will actually care about the pvp in these games like that.

I didn't beat the dual boss before Radahn became active to fight.

*Is about 200 something hours into my character. Finally in the last area of the game and decided to read this random player message in the corner........this entire time I did not know there was a clap gesture/emote called bravo until I seen this one player message of them clapping. Turns out I missed this random gesture like 180 or so hours ago/a.k.a. back around when I first started to game since you had to backtrack to where you first met that vierre dude after beating the first lord dude godrick. The note or whatever you get there is long gone now. =/* lol

black knife is so sick. its pushing these late game bosses shit in for me lol. they hate the projectile so much

you can stun lock her to death easy just by spamming swarm of flies while having mimic or tiche keep aggro on her.

but I have a shitload of low level smithing stones now and could upgrade some weapons. dont want to do it if its just going to end up worse than what Im currently using tho

Using an online map and clearing out the dungeons I missed in Limgrave before I move on to the next area

crazy how much easier these earlier-ish game bosses are now that Ive leveled a bit and can take a hit. Quite a few didnt take much effort at all; even the ulcerated tree spirit wasnt too bad

The wiki is pretty complete (in terms of base damage) at this point, but I'd say there isn't much point in switching unless you want a particular weapon art or passive effect. Like there's a serpent good curved sword that heals on kills, for example. The numbers within the same category seem pretty similar. There might be small differences in things like reach, swing speed, scaling, poise damage, etc. But I don't know of a good comprehensive source that can tell you all the differences. If there even is one yet.

every curved sword in the game besides the shotel has more base damage output than the scimitar, so pretty much anything is a straight upgrade, the only thing to look out for is whatever your scaling stats are

I realize that I missed a bunch of sidequests upon reaching volcano manor. It's cool that you can do the assassinations instead of traversing the manor, but I do like me some legacy dungeons.

I want Rykard's sword and combine it with my Cold greatsword.

oh, and the shotel's thing is that it can poke through block attempts and do more damage, but i think you'll still get the flinch animation that stops your combo

You can do both. I only recommend doing the missions because of the missable equipment/spells. Unless you really want the Blasphemous Blade asap.

Rock sling + level 4 lthuel wrecked them.

By the time the second one tried to attack me the first one was dead.

Beat Radahn. Not sure I liked that fight. Neat idea but it's just so messy.

TIL you can turn Niall's summons against him with that one item.

Been using boiled crabs lately for the enemies and bosses in mountain of giants . Seems to make a big diff so far. It was able to let me trade blows with deathbird, worm erdtree thing, and niall . I beat niall and the erdtree worm thing on 1st try. Deathbird took me 3 tries. Im still dodging and avoiding most of their attacks but when doing a jump attack with powerstance colossal hammers i almost always expect to get hit back immediately unless im lucky. Been able to survive those with a decent amount of health left.

My vigor is at 56 and total damage negation hit the 40s w/ boiled crab at the time i beat them. Now that i have veterans armour set after beating niall it hits the 50s. Should hit the 60s with the best dragoncrest greatshield talisman over at farum.

I'm loving the Fallingstar Beast Jaw. It doesn't do that great of damage especially since I don't have much in INT but holy fuck it staggers bosses with complete ease.

I saw a vid of someone powerstancing beast jaw + that pizza cutter weapon against malenia.

He would use falling star beast jaw art of war to lower her poise a little bit followed by a power stance attack to make her kneel.

I have to find that vid again. I was gonna use it as a reference just in case I can't beat her using colossal hammers.

Yup. I couldn't remember what the Bewitching Branch was called, but I just saw both of Niall's first two summons tear through a good chunk of his health.

I just did the double Gargoyle fight. The first one just threw himself over a cliff. The Crucible Night earlier did the same thing when he grew wings. I love when AI do that, it's so fun.

I just finished the Godskin duo battle. I went into the dungeon blind, had no idea they were the boss. I made it to the end but I used up all my FP flasks, half my HP flasks, and my physick just getting there lol. I was being super cautious.

So, I ended up beating the Apostle by the skin of my teeth. 1/3 HP left, no FP for the entire battle, and a Mimic that was on its last legs. I did a fist pump when he fell, but was devastated to see a Noble spawn. I got some hits in before I fell and left 70k runes behind. Then I died trying to run past all the enemies to get back there...

But I beat the duo on my 5th try. It was a fun battle, but I just wish the rewards were better. I shouldn't complain, but I think it was only like 80k with a golden scarab, and a talisman that sounds better than it is in practice.

Just dumped all the Fire Giant. Onto the castle!

Fire Giant is the most requested for help. I need to find an op way to kill it.

Finally beat the game. About 95 hours for completion. Beat all legend/great enemy/god, etc. type bosses. First form of the final boss was great, second form...not so much. Honestly soured me a little bit, but amazing game overall. Definitely one for the books.

Ooh wee Bloodhound Step Spiked Caestus has been the most fun I've had in this game by FAR lol man it's so awesome.

Ran into the prety Tibia Mariner, he went down easily as ever. Then the stupid Death Rite Bird surprised me right after that. Killed me a half dozen times before I realized my strategy wasn't working. Once I figured out it out I was able to kill it pretty quickly. I was flying high after the Fire Giant victory but then that damn bird showed up and knocked me down a peg lol. Made it to the castle, now I'm ready for a break.

mohgwyn sacred spear + fingerprint shield + greatshield talisman is the most busted shit i've run since i started (even more so than pre-nerf SoNaF and current RoB). insane damage, spear moveset so you can attack while blocking, and 100% guard boost so you take no stamina loss from blocking attacks. grinding godfrey for rune arcs and runes atm, and it's insane. dude is using his arena wide earthquake and smoking fools and i'm just standing in the middle of it poking him, completely unscathed. pretty sure the only attacks he has that can even hurt me are the low HP stomps (which are easy to roll or jump over) and the obvious grab attack in phase 2.
