Yeah, gossip/drama isn't really a thing in holoJP like the indie EN vtuber scene. Hell, Calli even made a quip as such in one of her songs, IIRC.

Kson hath spoken, Mikeneko is an eternal friend of hers no matter what happens. We do know that Mikeneko on her other account has visited Kson quite frequently when the whole CN thing went down. Most likely she was a great emotional support, and it's pretty understandable for Kson to hold eternal gratitude.

But I guess viewers were worried for Kson and tried to backseat her friendship. I also think it's sorta understandable why they did it because of everything that was implied to have gone down, but I guess life outside of Vtubing for them is a lot more complicated than we could possibly imagine. I don't think anybody could blame Kson for feeling this way though.

At the very least, Kson will be looking out for her and will be there to tell her to log off the internet when needed. Also fuck any variant of Keemstars in general.

Apparently a bunch of Indonesian channels were getting targeted attacks by bots spamming the chat with NSFW profile pics and then mass reporting the videos. And youtube allows this exploit.

The good news some channels got restored, even some smaller ones that aren't backed by a corporation, so hopefully this means youtube is actually doing something.

I would hope so. Seems a pretty big ban oversight to allow channel nuking because of people on chat having nsfw imagery as a picture/spamming nsfw things

Depends on how the ban system works:

-It's reasonable to drop the hammer for NSFW imagery (even if their actual -enforcement- of this is slapshod and inconsistent at best)
-Similarly, it can be argued that it's reasonable to drop the hammer for NSFW text

Ergo, that it took some determined hater this long to realize they can spam the hell out of people who display chat onscreen to prompt youtube into dropping the hammer is a surprise, really.

Now, if it's a matter of people getting blammed for -having a chat at all- regardless of if it's in the actual VOD, that's dumb. As is if it's just raw bulk of reports (like that shouldn't be an issue regardless at this point youtube's older than a significant portion of the audience c'mon)

I think the real problem is that the bots are not banned at the chat level (which should instanty remove their message from the screen). not that I know how to do this effectively without some sort of AI mod presence, which does exist but well google's use of AI moderation tools has had tons of issues in the past so...

like clearly any enforcement of these things not being allowed in the stream video would also suggest they are not alllowed in the chat either

The real baffling part is it'd be like...a very basic blacklist on channel names to avoid this whole issue over whatever weird machine learning thing they use to police content.

Well in terms of bad spam, Coco's channel in its later stages had something that actually worked for her. I dunno what Youtube does against report spam though. Generally this type of ban doesn't repeat at the very least.

Saw a pretty good docu on Coco's whole Taiwan situation that was really infuriating to watch. Still can't forget about how all the non-Taiwanese HoloCN members riled up the spam campaign and then laughed about how the overseas viewers were buying into their innocent act.

But the conclusion was that the antis just want the entirety of Hololive dead for whatever reason, so they moved onto Fubuki. Her solo streams don't get too much spam now, but any time she appears on a collab, she and the collab partners get spammed, which is why there was that hilarious 44 years sub requirement Subaru accidentally put up

I was under the impression part of it was also the avatar, which is a little harder to tell

but yeah the whole thing is ridiculous and is mostly a result of youtube having a variety of systems going on with no one actually thinking about how they all work together

Holo EN taking advantage of the new youtube raiding system today. It's very channel friendly since they can control who is allowed to raid them.

Noticed a bunch of them talking on baes stream and was a little surprised

It worked pretty well, when Mumei's stream ended it loaded up Bae's almost immediately with no loading. Can be a really good tool for event streams and relay events.

It's about goddamn time. It massively helps orgs like holo or niji. They can basically fill up time slots in a way where it's just non-stop stream chain from one after another

I don't think Holo members at least will use it casually. This was kind of a special case where Ina's stream broke so she sent her viewers Mumei during Overwatch, then they all wanted to join Bae in Minecraft so she sent the viewers there

I had stopped watching finana in favor of selen/elira/pomu from niji but this 7+ hour stream without the breathy little girl voice is nice

Yeah Sora's growth has been snails for quite a while. She's a pretty pleasant streamer, but her main appeal, which was live concerts, had to have been slowed down dramatically cuz of Covid. She's also heralded as this like great senpai, and she doesn't appear nearly as freely as the other members in collabs. Sora herself said that she doesn't really get that many requests, and she doesn't want to be treated as such.

Also I think Holo grew so far off Sora's personality and niche that she finds it hard to easily fit in. Iroha from HoloX actually reminds me quite a bit of Sora. But her being in a generation automatically makes it way easier to fit in
