I just tuned into Kronii and Moona's Minecraft collab only to see a giant slab of red supas all from Korea to Kronii. Goddamn Koreans have so little simp targets and Kronii being fluent in Korean and not from Japan in any way is probably a perfect sweet spot for them. Korea also does a better job of teaching english than Japan does prob cuz they do more business with US and has that whole history with them and all. So I see a lot of bilinguals in the chat. But geez lol just dropping the equivalent of 100 bucks, and one of them did a purple on top of it on just a regular ol Minecraft stream

Man Startend couldn't quite bring the same level of performance they showed in scrims. I think getting Climatizer wasn't the best thing for their playstyle. They were really good at those mid range fights, and Suisei already committed to Rampage, but on the tournament day, they got into close range fights again and again. Bad ring RNG on top of being surrounded by teams better at close range combat really sucked for them

But Towa won yet another 16th place lucky prize. I dunno what she's gonna do with all those pcs

I did wish Startend just flat out pulled out the win, but you know, lots of factors lead to the wildest results, and there were actually quite a few teams that were extremely good in scrims that basically ran into horrible ring RNG and just badly fought fights (which happens to anyone) in the actual match. Pakael's team won the most during scrims and ended up 13th for example. Kuzuha's team was really good so not surprising they ended up winning. That Abrahim guy is also way better than his rank and mostly does tourneys instead of ranked, same for Kuzuha who should honestly be Master by this point if he cared

But the whole win thing esp for Suisei is really just to prove the haters wrong. There were a lot of people who kept badgering Suisei to keep doing her music stuff or Micomet stuff etc., which this tourney resulted in quite a few really touching Micomet moments as well as a cover between 3 of the most accomplished singers in Holo. I don't see as a real fan how they would be disappointed

Suisei improved dramatically and looked like a non-newcomer in a lot of the scrims, but as the video suggest, VSaikyo is ultimately for the fun of it and to improve relations.

I feel like we literally saw the real Aqua for the first time, breaking out of her shell. We saw Suisei on a more vulnerable sphere where she isn't just effortlessly dispatching people, but she's also scarily approaching competitive levels. Everybody rooted for this team and kept helping them out just out of the kindness of their heart. Regardless of the result, this was probably my favorite VSaikyo for a lot of reasons, and I feel like despite what they initially believed, this isn't the end to Startend. I'm sure they'll also do collabs

But this kinda stuff is why I love Vtubers for sure

It's probably sort of weird to say about a giant apex event that they were practicing apex for on a bunch of streams beforehand but my favourite part of all the startend stuff I watched was suisei's game she came up with to calm everyone down before the very first tourney game. the game is you have to think of something that sounds like it might be the name of a song (and everyone kinda has to agree that it sounds like it could exist) and then you look it up on google and if it is the name of a song you lose

it's such a trivial thing but it and the conversation it spawned were just really funny. worked pretty well for getting them to calm down a little too. Towa suggests "magic power", suisei says there's no way since it's an extremely lame name, and then they look it up and it exists so towa immediately starts calling her out for being a hater

Shit, that sucks. Was hoping that wasn't the case but I kinda saw it coming when they had the "not-quite-a-merger" collab series with Phase Connect and the general tone of Urara's last couple streams. At least the talents stay. Kallin, Miori, and Yuuna are all fantastic. Haven't seen the others much honestly.
