my only suggestion is to just do what they want and use the serpent-hunter you find in the entrance. it sucks, but it's just a dumb gimmick boss fight like that, with an intended way to do it

I'm curious, what's the benefit to dual wielding? The bosses I've seen so far, you wouldn't usually have enough time to attack with both weapons regardless.

I'll have to try that. Don't know how good it'd be on rapiers though.

I see in Dark Souls, there was a 1.5x strength requirement, but I don't see anything about that for ER. Is that right?

in case anyone doesn't know, powerstancing is when you dual-wield two of the same weapon type (for instance two curved swords) with a certain amount of strength higher than what's required, and then your left hand light attacks will attack with both weapons at once with unique moves.

where two handing one weapon boosts its damage by 50% (i think), powerstancing basically doubles your damage or more, depending on what weapons you're combining

So is it better to dual-wield two katanas (like the Moonveil and Uchigatana) instead of pairing the Moonveil with the Nightriders Flail?

yeah, without powerstancing, it's pretty much pointless to dual wield two different weapon types. i wish you could, though

I suppose there could be some case where the off hand weapon has an effect you want to apply. But yeah,

you can do that with powerstancing too though, thanks to ashes of war and all that. i mentioned curved swords with bleed and frost, absolutely disgusting combo, and they'd be applied at the same time, to boot, unlike swinging one, then the other. you might be able to alternate each weapon for a fluid combo with a variety of hitboxes that could be unique, since weapons do have different movesets, but i don't know for sure

oh, or if the other weapon has a certain weapon art, like the torch that lets you blow fire

I'm still not sure what my final build will be. I'm rocking mostly sorcery right now, but I want to get a good dex weapon to use instead of the Crystal Sword.
