hb got all the typings correct if anyone wants to check theirs afterwards! I kinda love how absurd some of the typings are, it adds to the extraterrestrial feeling around them. But a couple of them have no discernable logic to the typings that I can see lol. Looking at you, Nihilego and Kartana.

I used to hate these but now I look at them all together and for some reason I kinda... appreciate them? They're so dumb and extra in a kind of lovable way? Like if these were all bosses in some quirky RPG I'd be so down.

Nihilego's one I remember mostly because Some people considered it the first poison type legendary

I like how most of them have these big, weird exaggerated personality in their designs. There's a lot of really good body language, and the business of the designs feels really intentional. The only ones I'm not a fan of are the ones that are just "object, but a lot of it doing a weird thing" like cable man and block man. And Guzzlord screaming is just great.

But one of them is a clown that blows up its own head and is a ghost because of the incredibly fleeting nature of fireworks and I love that guy.

Kartana is great, one of the only gen 7 Pokemon I actually like. The rest, not so much. Most of the ultra beasts are the epitome of overdesigned, and I get that they're supposed to look alien, but I really don't feel like there's much to any of them? The bugs are decent and have a bit of personality, and Guzzlord and Blacephalon aren't entirely bland, I suppose. Buzzwole is one of the best named mons ever, too! Fuck Naganadel though. I genuinely like a lot of the new designs, probably more than some gens I grew up with, but Naganadel is one of the worst in the series which isn't plain gross. Everything else design-wise is fine if not improved recently but legendaries really turned to shit after gen 3.

I almost like some of them, but just wish they had like actual faces. Xurkitree especially is a cool concept, but then I need it to have eyes.

i voted for the stone thing. most of them just look too weird for me. the stone thing at least looks like a random JRPG enemy design that i'd think looked neat if i saw it in, like, dragon quest.
